Our property has been in business in one way or another for over 70 years. The stick built cabins are pre 1950's and no one really knows for sure how old they truly are. We are located on Fort Creek named after the creek that ran through Fort Klamath. Fort Creek is a beautiful 30' wide meandering creek that runs the length of the property north to south. We offer free use of our Old Town Canoes to paddle along it's extent and on up creek to a beaver damn. There is a fun hiking trail that runs over two bridges that span the creek, one covered and one floating. We also offer free catch and release fishing, there are Rainbow and Brown Trout in our waters.
Fort Klamath is the birthplace and home of the US Army 1st Cavalry and our property is located on the the Forts Southeastern grounds. We are 9 miles from the southern border of the National Park and 23 miles from the southern Rim and Rim Village.
Please note: We do allow pets in some of our sites for $10 per night. If you plan to bring a pet, please add the pet fee which is listed under "Extras" during the booking process.

1. For creekside campers (campsites named after mushrooms): 4WD/AWD required, pack-in-pack-out, and off-leash dog friendly
2. For vanlifers & digital nomads (spots are numbered): vans/vehicles only (2WD okay), on-leash dog friendly, with access to hilltop barn with communal kitchen, flush toilets + showers, coworking space + wifi, laundry, and gym/game area
Creekside campers can also get access the barn with a Blue Barn pass ($15/person). You can add the Blue Barn Pass to your reservation or come check it out and add it during your stay.
MORE ABOUT THE LAND:
Located right off Hwy 26, directly in between the city of Portland and the peak of Mt. Hood, you'll find the most peaceful corner of the Pacific Northwest for you to pitch your tent or park your van. We are conveniently located just 6 minutes from downtown Sandy, known for its food trucks, outdoor gear shops, and the famous Joe's Donuts. Though we are right off a busy highway, we're in a valley so all you'll hear are the tranquil sounds of Cedar Creek's flowing waters and the chirping birds who live in the cedars overhead. The small clearings throughout the property provide natural privacy for our campers, while the barn provides amenities making it difficult to leave.
We're so honored to share this magical place with as many people exploring the Pacific Northwest as we can. We hope your stay here will bring you a deep sense of peace, inspire creativity, give you whatever it is you're in need of at this moment in time.
Take a dip in Cedar Creek, sit and read by one of the ponds, get your heart pumping on the hilly trails on the north side of the property, pick as many blackberries as you can find if in season. We can't wait to host you!
NON-NEGOTIABLE RULES:
PACK IN PACK OUT: We do not have trash or recycling bins down in the creekside campground so please keep your waste contained and take it with you when you leave. Please do not throw any trash in the porta-potties.
4WD/AWD REQUIRED PAST THE BARN: The steep gravel roads can be tough for some cars and rigs (particularly on the way out) and consequently, can cause a lot of damage to our roads. So for everyone's safety, we have restricted access to only vehicles with 4WD or AWD only. Please do not message us asking us to advise on the vehicle you have. If someone in your party has a 2WD vehicle, they can park up in the entry lot and get shuttled down to the campsites in a 4WD vehicle. If we see a 2WD vehicle in the campground, we will ask you to leave and if we have to dig you out, we will charge a $200 fee. Thank you for respecting our policies and helping us maintain our space.
DOG FRIENDLY: We are as dog friendly as it gets here. Unleashed dogs are allowed on this property down by the creek (on-leash required in and around the barn). If you have a fear of dogs, or have dogs that are not friendly with other people or fellow dogs, this probably isn't the right campground for you. Of course, we expect all dog owners to keep an eye on their pets so they don't disturb other campers or ingest anything they're not supposed to.
QUIET HOURS: 10pm-9am. We ask that guests keep the noise (loud music and loud conversations) to a minimum between 10pm and 9am. We live onsite and will enforce these if we have to (please don't make us).
NO FIREARMS, FIREWORKS OR ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE USE. This is not a late night party campsite. This property is best enjoyed in the daylight and we encourage campers who want to take full advantage of the scenery, will abide by the quiet hours, and maintain a safe space for all.
OTHER INFO:
CELL SERVICE: There is an AT&T tower on our property so that gets the best service by far. Verizon is pretty good. T-mobile does not get reception here. There is high-speed internet up at the barn that is accessible with a Blue Barn Pass.

The farm is home to an organic garden, campfire circle, picnic area, a city bus with a campers' kitchen, outdoor seating area with BBQ, kids play structure and hiking trails.
The cabin on the property was built by the original homesteaders. Britta and Jim purchased the property in 2009. It had been vacant for a number of years. Giant slash piles scattered the land from previous logging.
The house and cabin were not livable and needed major renovations. In 2019, we purchased and brought in a city bus and converted it to a campers kitchen.
A year-round creek flows through the property and 3 major rivers are nearby. The Zigzag Mountain Lookout Trail leaves from the property. The property was homesteaded in the early 1900's. E. Mountain Drive was the wagon train trail into Portland, known as the Barlow Trail.
Zigzag Mountain Farm offers the perfect escape from the city.

Power has recently been going out more frequently due to the Pacific Power's "advanced safety settings". When the power is out the well pump is out, so there is no water. I am happy to provide buckets of river water for "flushing toilets" and pay for showers at the Klamoya Travel Center. I will not be giving refunds for a situation over which I have no control.

Highly recommend to anyone wanting a safe, relaxing, family & pet friendly atmosphere.
We absolutely loved our stay. Mike & Stephany are courteous, attentive hosts who seem genuinely eager to ensure their guests are right at home. The “barn” offers everything one might need for an extended stay and is a great place to hang out in the evenings for family game night.
The property itself is very well kept; the sites are private, the grounds are clean and safe for kids to roam. The large, communal fire pit was kept ‘ready’ for s’mores at all times. Our kids also enjoyed playing on the swing set near the barn. The beds in the bunkhouse are very comfortable; quality bed linens and excellent, comfy memory foam (new condition) mattresses on all beds. Potable drinking water is a great bonus for those trying to travel light. We usually travel with our own water filter so the great tasting drinking water was a nice surprise!

Camp Colton was exactly what me and group needed, it’s a beautiful property! we stayed in the meadow right next to the creek and the pond nearby. The sounds of the creek was so relaxing to sleep to. I appreciated the water bottle fill up station, free use of washing machine/dryer, canoes on site (we didn’t get to do this but it looked like fun) and the clean bathroom/showers. Not to mention the host was accommodating to my request to modify my trip to an earlier date, and was so gracious to guide us to our site and let us pick whatever camping spot we’d like. We will definitely be back!

Our little get away was perfect. The yurt was clean, comfortable and stocked with fire wood. The bathhouse was clean, stocked and kept warm with a heater. The property caretaker stopped by and was friendly and asked if we were needing anything and enjoying our stay. We will definitely be back!

We had a great night. It was short but GREAT! Everything was awesome. I love how intentional Mike and Stephany have been in designing their property. It had everything and more! I enjoyed the coffee, flush toilet, and common area. Boys enjoyed basketball, and metal detecting. The location is close to town. THANKS!

24 ft travel trailer
We had a 24 ft travel trailer which was very easy to maneuver and park. We came in the evening as the sun was setting. We had help from Connie’s husband & he explained everything to us when we arrived. Connie came down to feed the animals just after we arrived and showed my kiddos the animals & let them feed & pet them. There was a mustang horse, 2 highland cows, 2 large pigs, 2 alpacas, mini donkey, mini horse, many sheep (plus a baby!), many goats (lots of babies!), ducks, chickens, 2 Great Pyrenees farm dogs. The ducks had free range and they were soooo cute to watch. And beautiful colors! The animals here are very taken care of and happy. They are all very friendly & love the attention & snacks. We brought our dog & he was welcomed and got along well with all the other animals. We loved staying by the barn! Farm fresh eggs were a wonderful start to our day. We explored the entire property. The spot was exactly as described & we loved it. The weather was not the greatest, but we are from Washington so we know how to make the best with the rain. The farm is between silverton and silver falls state park, through beautiful scenery and homes. It’s obvious that people in Silverton take care of their city. There was a pet parade in town Saturday morning. There are fun shops and sites to see in town. The Gallon House Bridge has a cool history. We hiked the Ten Trails with the kids (no dogs allowed). The hike was BEAUTIFUL!!!!! We can’t wait to come back & see Lavender in bloom !

We loved staying in the yurt at Zigzag farm! It was sooo cozy on a rainy night and the propane heater was powerful! Tobias was so friendly and helpful with giving us directions and even directing us to the nearby farmers market that was happening the next day. We loved cooking in the bus-kitchen! Also recommend you bring your own dishes, utensils, and supplies, such as cooking oil and spices, just as you would to a campsite. The mile loop trail in the mossy forest was a perfect morning walk. So peaceful. We will definitely camp here again!

The grounds at CRL are beautiful. There’s a trail around the pristine clear Fork Creek with lots of evidence of busy beavers, canoes to use for Free, and a variety of camping options… glamping , cabins , trailers, tents and RV sites. This was our first RV camping so it was a bit crowded for our style and right on Hwy. 62. And since it’s early Spring, the traffic really was minimal. Summer might be different? The best choices are the cabins on Fork Creek. CLR is only 30 minutes from the beyond compare Crater Lake! We would definitely go back but leave our camper van home and rent a cabin. Friendly owners/staff. They conscientiously spray for mosquitoes using an orange peel oil. Thank you from all beings!

We loved the RV spot. The surrounding property was beautiful, & the river was wonderful to kayak. We paddled upstream and then floated back to camp. The bathrooms were a big treat, hot showers and cutely decorated.
Welcoming our dog off leash was a plus for us too. We will definitely return.

Amazing spot and very reasonable amenities. We tent camped and it was really nice to have toilets, hot showers, and a sink to wash our dishes! You can’t beat the 10-15 minute drive to Toketee and Watson. This area was GORGEOUS!
I loved the inclusivity of the resort and it was great to support a location who cares. We loved this campsite and would recommend to anyone wanting to tent camp, stay in a cabin/glamp, or bring an RV. Keep being awesome Upmqua’s last resort!

This is a fantastic spot near Crater Lake that accommodates all camping styles. The property is very clean and features a beautiful creek and excellent restroom facilities with hot water and great pressure. It features a grill & pizza oven for guest use! While it is mostly quiet, expect some occasional noise from the neighboring farm ( believe it was a donkey).
The only major drawback was the laundry room access; although the posted hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., a key is required from the main desk, and they certainly weren't there the whole time during those hours so plan your chores accordingly, but otherwise, it's a great stay!

Staying at Mike and Stephany's small campground was wonderful! Our rig fit perfectly into the camping spot, and the scenery around us was idyllic and serene. We loved to hang out with our dogs outside at the picnic table among the trees. The land was well-kempt, and the facilities were nicely maintenanced.
Having the lower part of the barn available to us as a public space was also an unexpected treat. We were able to take hot showers in a private bathroom, use the dishwasher, wash clothes (if needed), and take advantage of their kitchen area. While we didn't get to play any, there were also a variety of games available too.
Mike was very kind, generous, and talkative. When the shower was out of hot water, he made sure to take care of the issue immediately (even at 9pm) to ensure we had hot water.
Meeting all the animals was also fantastic! Their dogs and cats were friendly and adorable. Even the chickens were fun to see.
I would definitely recommend staying with Mike and Stephany's to anyone who is in the area, and we'd be happy to return!
