The Viking longhall has been 9 years in the making by a group of semi serious Viking enthusiasts: the result is a 60 foot long building that has 18, 8,x4' sleeping berths. Set apart from the main open area it also boasts 2 meeting rooms and a kitchen.
The campsite is a very peaceful place. Some go as far as to say a healing place! We are proud of what we have achieved and now want people to come out and enjoy it also.
The field is close enough to the Appalachian highway (state route 32) for convenience, but far enough not to be bothered by it. The area is steeped in Native American culture. In fact, the world famous Serpent Mound is but 8 miles away, with many other Adena culture sites within easy driving distance. It's also in the heart of the Amish community. The area is known for its natural beauty with many hiking trails and canoeing opportunities.
The area is awash in beauty and history from the ancient mound culture to the amish culture. The area has many hiking trails some of which are part of the buckeye trail and range in length from an easy 1 mile loop to rugged hikes of many miles.

This is a camping cabin, in the middle of the Daniel Boone National Forest. If you are into primitive camping and living, then this is the right place for you! Many types of wildlife and critters may be encountered during your camping adventure. Deer, turkey, squirrel, snakes of different types, and lots of wood bugs inhabit the woods. We are about 85 acres, surrounded by hundreds of acres of national Forest, located about 2 minutes from the Sheltowee Trail, and approximately 30 minutes away from Cave Run Lake, and 30 minutes from Carter Caves State Park.
The cabin is off grid, but has a generator for heat and Air conditioning. The outside toilet is close to the cabin and has a "Wash up" area. There is also an outdoor shower on the property just a short walk away, down behind the host's garage, that features hot water.
A great place to relax and detach from the stress of society for a few days, or hike, hunt, or head over to Cave Run Lake for some fishing.

We enjoyed the spot and had a great weekend! Very responsive host and good amenities (toilet paper, paper towels, Coleman stove and propane, games, blankets, etc.). The outhouse was clean and great! Felt comfortable and even though it was 30 deg outside, a space heater made it nice and toasty. Room to put down tents outside. Not a ton of hiking paths in the area, but able to make our own. Able to use the WiFi at the main cabin for directions, etc. would stay again!

3 nights at Fruitdale Farm
This was my 2nd stay at Aimee’s beautiful property. This was my first solo camping trip, and it was amazing :) I felt welcome, safe, cozy, and relaxed. The cabin is rustic and sweet and has pretty much everything you might need for cooking camp meals, a comfy couch and the bed in the loft was very comfortable! Spent lots of time outside by the fire, what a great little spot to disconnect from the demands of every day life <3 just what I needed!
Tangy the orange cat paid me a visit every evening to check in on me and to see what snacks I might have. :) The spiders also kept checking in on me, to make sure my heart was working and to let me know I was the visitor! Haha

Weekend Trip to Fruitdale Farm
We had tent camped here previously, and now with a little one we decided to stay at Little Fern cabin and it was the most wonderful cozy stay. So many thoughtful details at the site and in the gazebo kitchen. The property is nothing short of enchanting and beautiful, we can’t wait to return again.

4 nights at The cozy mountain cabin
Had a great sister trip exploring all Hocking Hills has to offer. Great workout hiking and then relaxing in the hot tub at the end of the day. Beautiful area and William was a most excellent host. Very friendly dogs welcomed us every morning on the porch. And enjoyed the sunrise and variety of birds. 😃 Great price point for Hocking Hills fall trip.

Weekend Trip to Woody Acres
Stayed at the Hickory Hut with my boyfriend and pup for our anniversary and couldn't recommend Kate's place enough! We struggled to find a place last minute and stumbled upon their land, which was more than perfect. From the cat snuggles, to being able to have a fire under the stars each night, we thoroughly enjoyed our time spent there. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, with the addition of their land being beautiful. We will be back one day in the future!

The cabin is wonderful. Very nicely done and very private. Everything was so clean including the outhouse. It is really an amazing spot. It has a really nice fire pit. The bed was so comfortable- I wish I had it at home! Nice bedding and blankets, too.

Weekend Trip to Walnut Falls Escape
Really cool place with plenty of space inside and lots to see outside! The hike to the cabin was a little slippery on the rocks when it rained but otherwise a flawless adventure! Also, there were plenty of supplies in the cabin like flashlights and lighters and a percolator. Definitely would like to come back!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Woody Acres and I honestly can't recommend it enough. Kate and Austin are so friendly and welcoming. You can see the thought and care they put into every aspect of their property. The Peppermint Patty Wagon and outdoor cooking area are great and had everything we needed and more. The property is remote enough to feel like you're getting away but close enough to all the great hiking spots and cool litte towns. The outdoor shower is amazing after a long day of hiking and i even took a dip in the pond. We loved everything including the wildflowers, the gardens, the amazing stars, beautiful sunsets, the humming birds and 8 point buck. This place is truly magical.

Aimee responded quickly to messages before I arrived and she provided all the info needed. The site I was on was well cared for and very private. The trails I saw were very well maintained and the signage was excellent. (The next time I come I'll do a bit more walking.) Having small wagons available to haul water and supplies along the path across the small ravine was MOST appreciated!
The friendly camp cat was an added bonus.
