Its a great spot. The host was very friendly but not intrusive. He welcomed us and gave us some cookies shortly after we had gotten all set up. It's secluded and the actual campsite is tucked away in the woods by a creek. There was a very friendly turkey who came to visit us multiple times. We also got to see the cows up close. There was also a rooster who would wake us up every morning, but he was far enough away to not be too loud. Lots of ducks, cranes, and bats at night. It rained a lot while we were there which we found quite peaceful. Perfect getaway for us, completely recommend this site.

Weekend Trip to Artemis Gardens BnB

Lisa (human), Nemo, Luna, and Artemis (cats) were amazing hosts during my stay. I came for an outdoorsy getaway and the hiking in the area was plentiful and close. Definitely check out the Charleston Falls - they're amazing year round! Lisa's house is a work of art, each nook and cranny painted and decorated with her own work and charming decor. The room was cozy, the bed comfy, the cats friendly (shout out to my girl Nemo, who will crawl into your skin if you let her. Lots of kisses and cuddles from that ginger sweetheart). The highlight is the sitting room with gorgeous plants and lots of sunlight, looking out onto greenery and critters. Lisa was a gracious host who answered all messages/requests quickly. She made me breakfast and gave me recs for local spots. Spot was easy to find, parking was easy, and although there are a few far-flung neighbors it was 100% quiet.

4 nights at GloryField Hospitality Farm

Had to be in Jamestown, OH for a couple of days, and this Hip Camp site was in the perfect location. The setting was peaceful, and each morning brought a beautiful sunrise. Unfortunately, the weather was cold, windy, and rainy during our stay—I wish it had been warmer so I could have taken a nature walk around the property. The site was easy to access, making arrival and departure hassle-free. Kimberly, the host, was fantastic with communication, and if you're traveling with a group, she has nearby Airbnb properties as well. Looking forward to coming back in better weather!

2 nights at Rustic Retreat

I loved staying at Rustic Reteat! The property is beautiful and Ro wet was a generous host. I don't do the traditional tent camping but I stead have decked out my car for camping with a hatchback tent. Robert had a space for me to pull my car into and stay for the week. Since it was the "off season" I happened to be the only camper here, so it was very quiet. It was also provided an extension cord to be able to hook up my electric and stay comfortably during the last of the winter weather. I highly recommend staying here. The airstreams that are available to stay in look beautiful and are situated to give privacy for any camper.

This was a lovely campsite with direct access to a nice big creek and plenty of room for a couple of tents. The hosts were super kind and helpful. I hope to come back in warmer weather to do some swimming and hiking!

What a nice site- close enough to town for easy resupply but far enough to be private and remote. The site was clean and had good level ground for tents, and hosts were extremely accommodating and excellent communicators. Highly recommend staying here.

The Shack was gorgeous! I stayed there for for the lunar eclipse with my dog. The big windows made it so you can stargaze while cozy in the cabin. Wonderful space, will have to bring fishing poles next time!

This was our second time at Land of Milk and Honey, the experience was as great as the first time. We love how secluded this place feels so when we need to get out of the city, it is the perfect spot. Bathroom is one of best I've seen at the dozen or so Hip camps I have stayed at. There is also a very impressive outdoor cooking setup so if you don't have your own this is a big win for you. Hosts are very helpful and accommodating, we were even greeted with some AWESOME homemade cookies and treats for the dogs. My dog Tippy buried hers near the wood pile so we're all very excited to go back soon.

If chicken eggs are available I will make them available to campers. You can visit the chickens and feed the catfish. These are tent sites and you may have to park your vehicle and walk to set up. Firewood is available for use at the site. We are close to several kayaking rental places along the Little Miami River, Morrow and Morgan's are close by. This would be a good spot to tent camp during the famous Todd's Fork Revival Festival in July as we are just 5 minutes from the site. I will probably be going! Mostly surrounded by a horse farm, so you may have an opportunity to see some horses out in the fields next door. Food, gas, etc. is available within 5 mins into town. Step inside this furnished bell tent to discover a spacious retreat complete with a queen size bed. Marshall Road runs through the bottom third of our property making a secluded area along Decoursey Creek that feels like a you're way out in the woods, yet not far from the city. Our canvas tent is situated under large mature trees, secluded from the road. An open field located on the property along Decoursey Creek, which brings in a variety of flora and fauna. This 12 foot canvas bell tent is sure to take relaxation to the next level. Within this tent, a queen size memory foam mattress, lightweight sheets, extra blankets and paired with two firm and two soft pillows are provided. The door way is a double zip closure. For cooking, a gas burner and a small gas grill, a cast iron skillet along with acacia wood plates and bowls, utensils, and knives are available for use. For fresh coffee in the morning, an enamel Percolator and mugs are provided. An extra large cooler (100 gal) for your cold items is available outside of the tent. Please bring your own camping equipment if needing any items outside of what's listed. For your bathroom needs, we are currently building a bath house. It does have a fully functional toilet and sink using water catchment. The shower is not complete, will be in the coming weeks. Please bring water for drinking and brushing teeth. Toilet paper, hand soap and sanitizer will be provided. In addition to firelight from the campfire, the tent is lit by battery-powered a LED lantern, battery operated candles, decor and a pair of solar lamps. No electric is available at this site currently. One battery operated fan is provided. First load of wood is included with your reservation. $7 per bundle if you need more. We use the honor system for this, please send any extra money through HipCamp if more wood is used. We provide fire starting materials and a lighter, fire extinguisher is located in the trunk within the tent. Parking area is close to the tent, yet not right next to it. Creekside Hideaway is nestled on Decoursey Creek, you will have access to the bottom area of the property along the creek. Rock steps have been put in along the creek for easy access down to the creek. This property is partially wooded, and has an open field as well. We are always pet friendly, but you must maintain control of your pets and you are responsible for them at all times. Decoursey creek is a natural waterway. It is frequented by wildlife and can be contaminated by runoff from local farms. DO NOT drink the water. Make sure to wash your hands after they have been in the water before eating and drinking. Pink tape on trees are to mark the approximate property lines, please remain within the property. The creek is part of the property but please do not go to the far bank, as the creek marks our property line.

Sweet Spot by Yellow Springs

The campsite is in an open meadow on our 5 acre property, next to the ruins of what was one of the oldest barns in the county (there are still some beautiful stone walls left). You will be surrounded by trees and the spot is completely private. Directly across the road from our property (a 5 minute walk) is the Little Miami Scenic Trail, the third longest paved trail in the US (amazing for biking). The unique village of Yellow Springs is only a 5 minute drive away with a great local grocery store and several cafes. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BOOKING. Notes: 1) For camper vans: we do allow camper vans (not RVs or trailers) but you will need to park at the entrance of the meadow where there is gravel. Recently a camper got stuck in the meadow due to rain/mud (which is why we do not allow RVs or trailers). 2) We are still building a compost toilet so the option on the property now is to dig a cat hole at least 6" deep. There is an open public toilet in Yellow Springs and several businesses with open bathrooms. 3) The campsite is right off of Route 68. You cannot see cars from the site but you can hear them. The amount of noise from cars is lower at night. 4) The meadow is ideal for tent camping, though it is NOT a built campsite so it is not perfectly level throughout.

Dogs are harmless but do bark when they do not know you... City of Springfield is less than three miles away. A Sheets and Loves Truckstop are 300 yards away with the Loves having a dump station. Next door to this property is a BP Station and Carryout. The Loves Truckstop has a Wendys, Subway, and dog park. Sheets also has a food court. All within walking distance. Great location as Columbus is 30 min to the east, Dayton is 25 min to the west. 13 min to I 675 and 20 min to Interstate 75 N/S. I 71 N/S Columbus is 35 min away in downtown Columbus... NOTE: Little over a quarter of a mile off of Interstate 70, and on a State Route, If looking for absolute silence and desolation, this is not for you. This property is tucked away and you wouldn’t even know you’re close to town once you’re on site. Valley Vineyards is right down the road to enjoy a bottle of wine and cook your own steak dinner nights. Take a trip to visit Fort Ancient with a day hike. A Native American earthworks complex, the largest hilltop enclosure in the world and soon to be a World Heritage site! Enjoy some canoeing on the Little Miami River a State and National scenic river which is within walking distance. We have kayaks on location for the kids to play in the creek and creeks to hike with numerous fossils deposits. Southwestern Ohio is famous for its Ordovician fossil deposits. Kings Island is approximately 20 minute drive and the Ohio renaissance Festival is near. Caesars creek state park in Cowan lake state park is within a short drive. Smallmouth Bass fishing is awesome on Todd’s Fork and we have plenty of area to Wade fish.

New Carlisle has a small local airport and an Old fashion Root beer stand. It also has a scenic bike/running trail that takes you from the Old YMCA passed Smith Park to Lake Ave. Lake Ave. was named after Ricky Lake's grandfather who use to drag race down the road frequently.
