This area was known by the Native Americans as "Pocatalico" (land of the fat doe), and first settled by Europeans around 1890. The property itself was first settled by a man named Mayford Jones, who set the first stones here around 1910. A Jenny Lynn style farmhouse was built and the property was known as one of the best developed farms in the area. Today, the forest has returned to what was once pasture land on the majority of the 100 acre plot, and a small but intensive sustainable forest farm has been taking shape since 2013 under the current host and occupant, who prefers the term "steward" rather than "owner".

We have 2 sites, 1 is a trailer and 1 is a camping spot/cabin on top of our mountain. The cabin up there was built in the 60-70’s probably and is a total mess. People are welcome to stay in it if they choose. There is plenty of area for multiple tents near the cabin.
The trailer is a basic 1990’s trailer. Everything works in it. There is a furnace, 2 full size beds, a full kitchen and bath. There is a window AC for hot days.

We recommend renting one of our golf carts to explore the many miles of backcountry mountain roads with ,it is the best way to get out and sightsee and explore the area during your stay , we do offer these adventures separately to anyone looking to take a ride not just our guest. Or you could bring your own atv and pay a $30 day riding fee , ride as much as you want. Message us to schedule a ride.
This cabin is very remote and private. It offers beautiful scenery, an amazing deck view of the mountain side ,Wi-Fi, a 4 person hot tub, modern kitchen and bath, very comfortable couch and love seat, a queen sized bed, Wi-Fi and 60inch smart tv located in the living room above the fire place and one in the bedroom.
we also offer other spacious and modern cabins and primitive tent camping sites.
We are pet friendly $25 per night per pet you can pay those upon arrival

This tiny (about 150 sq feet) eco cabin is nestled in the hills and hollows of Meigs County Ohio on 6.6 secluded acres of mostly wooded land on a private, dead end gravel lane. A superb place to bird watch, identify native plants and trees, and stargaze as the cabin is located in one of the darkest places in Ohio. Also on the property is a 16x20 camping/activities platform for your enjoyment.
Our doors opened in September 2020 with the intention of creating a simple, yet functional and secluded space for individuals, couples, and groups to come together and enjoy the serenity of nature's beauty.
We are one of Ohio's only openly clothing optional and naturist friendly rentals. You of course do not have to be naked during your visit, but it is a safe place to explore the naturist lifestyle if you've ever been curious!

Guest parking is at the front gate of the property. Be prepared to walk and carry all of your belongings up a steep hill that is about 50 yards long.
To access the queen bed in the loft, you will need to be able to assemble and hang up a ~40 wooden ladder to the loft.
There is no outdoor lighting, so if you plan to arrive after dark, bring a bright flashlight or head lamp as you will not be able to see anything.
The cabin is stocked with spices, teas, coffees, hot chocolate, and all you need to cook meals. There is a microwave, toaster oven, crockpot, and propane grill.
Please DO NOT flush toilet paper. Put in lined trash bin.

This is a funky little spot, don't be put off by the drive in. Mike has created a number (5?) of leveled gravel full hook up sites pretty close together, but very nice. Sweet communal fire pit right on a deck overlooking a little river. Fantastic bathroom with running hot water and shower! We would definitely camp here again. Thank you Mike.

The cabin is a little small, but it comfortably housed my wife and I. Everything was very clean with all of the amenities that we needed for the weekend. A very nice spot for a weekend retreat for two people. There's also a huge stack of western and war DVDs if you want to check those out!

A wonderful experience. West Virginia might be almost Heaven, but Mike’s place is Heaven. Do your dog a favor and take them to Camp Comatose. The hospitality is over the top .
It is a little tricky to get to Mike’s place , but worth the challenge .

The campsite was in a beautiful location and well-equipped. The flowers on the picnic table were a lovely touch. A rain storm came through a few hours after our arrival and Stacey offered us a dry place to wait out the storm (thankfully we were snug in our tent by then but appreciated the offer)! Wish we could have camped another night but would definitely stay at Stacey's campsite again when in the area!
