Weekend Trip to The Homestead At Little Creek

As a first time solo glamper, this exceeded my expectations. I was greeted by the Megan, her husband, and their dog Myra. Traveling alone can be scary, but Myra was near me all night. She also walked me to the bathroom each time I went. The tent had a heater, as well as a fireplace in the glamping area that I used. In the morning, I got to meet all of the wonderful animals on the farm. With this location being only 30 minutes from Dix park, it’s the perfect place to crash after seeing Thomas Dambo’s trolls! Great for a group camping trip, but I loved doing it solo.

The Long Horn cattle were very majestic animals, my boxer was obsessed with them. They were having horse riding lessons when we pulled up, another first for my dogs. The site was beautiful, with lots of quiet open space. There are railroad tracks close by but we only heard a train twice all weekend. There was also a golden retriever that adopted himself into our camp but he was sweet (as long as you keep your trash out of reach lol) and got along with our puppy great. Stephanie was awesome and attentive as well, answered any questions I had quickly and clearly. It's a great little spot!

The property was just as expected. Yes the roosters and vehicles were heard but you got used to it. We had several ducks enjoying the pond in the early mornings. A couple of deer crossed the field between the barn and the roadway early Saturday morning. Several Bass were caught in the pond at the far end near the little pond. The dogs enjoyed a refreshing swim in the pond. We had a great time at the fire pit with our family overlooking the pond. We thank our host Wendy/Adam for sharing their property with us, we had a Great Time! Small suggestion would be to have clear numbers on the mail box on both sides. Thanks Again, Dewayne!
