Better during warmer months
Positives:
-Mark was super quick to respond to my last-minute booking, and was kind enough to refund an unnecessary "extra vehicle fee" of $20.
-The site was super quiet, felt very safe, and was easy to find, with the maps pin he provided.
Unexpected issues:
-The ad indicated full hookups. The only hookup available was power, "due to winterization". This was not disclosed until after I booked the site @$30. (Really $40, after fees and tax.)
-Mark was "out of town", so I was on my own to figure out my landing process on arrival.
-The picture of the RV in the ad is his RV, and in order for my power cord to reach the outlet, I had to park *right* next to it, and run my camper into/under several very sappy pine tree branches.
-It would have been much easier to park if I'd known I should have turned to the left first when entering, then backed myself in next to his RV. Instead, I pulled into the site nose first, then found out where the power outlet was (it's where his rv is plugged in, on the side of a large shed/outbuilding), and had to work through getting turned around on grass terrain without much light. (Timing was my bad, GPS took me for a ride. TAKE THE "B" EXIT off the highway!!)
-The site is NOT level.
This experience served to remind me that campground options are usually more solid on their available hookups and level, unobstructed sites. I'm scouting those for the rest of my journey.
