Troutman is a very quaint southern town very close to Mooresville, NC. It is smack in the middle of Charlotte and Hickory! So you can enjoy the mountains or the city or both from ONE LOCATION!! We are within driving distance to Lowe's Motor speedway and very close to many race teams located in Mooresville.
The downtown of Troutman is a short drive from your camp spot and there is a grocery store, drug store and many privately owned restaurants, including Italian, German and amazing fried chicken at Julia's! There is an ice cream parlor too!! Another wonderful asset to Troutman is Daveste' Vineyard where there is live music often, and of course wine tastings! This beautiful vineyard is less than 10 mins away.

There are 2 ponds on the property available for fishing and paddling. Given the area the farm covers campers will have peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle. This property is 180 acres of woods and mountains with streams and ponds.
Beautiful settings. If you like hiking in the mountains this will definitely hit the spot. YO can fish in the ponds it has blue gills and catfish. I also added grass carp there as part of weed management.
This used to be an abandoned farm which I want to bring back to life.
The site offers three luxury large Safari Style Tents and 4 Pioneer wagons.
All tents are far away from each other to provide privacy and freedom of going Wild (still remaining civilized in your manners and careful attitude to Nature around you).
Tent 1 is in the Forrest itself and it is pretty cook and serene.
Tent 2 is on the top of a rocky hill overlooking the forest.
Tent 3 is the most remote and closest to the ponds. It has most of the open space around it, and can be a great place for parties.
We are working on making the sites and the area more comfortable, but I do not want to make it a manicured park. I want it to remain wild and still offer comfortable stay.
The farm is work in progress. Eventually it will be an Ostrich farm. and have other animals too.
The closest town - Lenoir is about 12 miles away . Closest Grocery store (Dollar General) - about 3 miles away. Closest Gas station - 2 miles away.
Professional Tennis court, Basketball court and large kids playground are in a public park within - 5 minute drive.
Lenoir has restaurants, shopping, etc.
Hickory is a larger town about 25 minutes drive. Hickory Lake is a large reservoir with marina where you can rent a boat and it also offers a good game fishing.

Eden Oaks Vineyard & Campground was a tobacco farm (antique tobacco barn still on property). The house was built in 1910 and has been updated. We purchased it in 2014 and converted it into a vineyard.
We have RV sites with 50 amp and 30 amp electric hookups and water, and tents sites. For 2023 our rates are $30/night for RV Sites (50 amp or 30 amp electric hookups and water) and $25/night for Tent Sites. Tent sites do not have electricity or water hookups, but water is available at the well. (Due to inflation, 2024 our rates will be $30/night for RV Sites, $25/night for Tent Sites.) We do not have a dump station, but we do have a Port A John
and a list of dump stations nearby.
Campfires are allowed unless we have a state issued burning ban. Campers are responsible for controlling and extinguishing fires. Please be extremely careful during dry or drought conditions.
Conveniently located one mile from Hwy 421 but remote and peaceful with plenty of room to roam on our 22 acres with grapevines, fruit trees, forest, creeks, fields, goats, Beagle and Jackabee (Beagle/Jack Russell) dogs, cows, chickens, ducks and goats. Also, we have wildlife such as birds, squirrels, groundhogs, deer, raccoons, opossums, etc. We are about 15 miles from Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro (home of the Merle Fest and Apple Festival). Eden Oaks is 18 miles from W. Kerr Scott Dam & Reservoir, 24 miles from Stone Mt. State Park, and 10 miles from Elkin (sponsors of the Wine Festival and Pumpkin Festival).

I moved here from San Francisco, to simplify my life, and accomplish my dreams. The Tiny house was designed and built by architect, Jesse Plaster. It's a unique cozy loft style design, set back in the woods on our property. It's purposely placed next to a creek, with a nice stone fire ring to really enjoy the outdoors. In the cold months, it's heated by a wood burning stove. Also next to the house are logging roads that allow you to hike the Ripshin Mountains. The Yadkin River is near by, and so is Boone and Blowing Rock. If you like mountain biking, bring your bike to ride Kerr Scott, or Zacks Fork trails. Please respect our land by not bringing firewood from off-site and burning it here. We are a working farm that allows camping, not a campground. Our native trees and crops could easily be devastated by outside diseases or pests that are carried in firewood. We offer firewood for sale from our farm (delivered to your site for no additional fee). You do NOT have to purchase it prior to your arrival, and we have large tubs too!
Our STORE offers firewood, meats, eggs, Tallow, lard (both rendered right here!), drinks, Amish ice cream and jams/jellies/preserves, hammocks, hammock chairs, smoked dog bones, soaps (made right here), rentals of: cast iron cookware, a tent, Coleman stove, fishing poles, ... and MUCH MORE!
Please note that all our sites are reserved with a one vehicle limit. Some sites are large enough to accommodate additional vehicles but each additional vehicle will incur a $10 per night charge. Free parking for additional vehicles is located at the office/store.

We have had several 40+ft rigs stay with us with no issue. For those not accustomed to mountain travel or new drivers please know that travel off NC 18 on the state road is a typical two lane paved mountain road with curves, some of which will require you to swing wide, a couple of areas of moderate incline but that does not exceed 8%, a short state maintained gapped section of gravel and an occasional low hanging branch. At the campsites there is a slight incline and some loose gravel.
Caution: Wildlife present in the area including bear, bobcat, deer, turkey.

We loved camping here! We’re hoping we can come back soon! The site was level and clean. Jenny was an amazing host that was very generous. All the dogs at the campground were our kids favorite part! The proximity to the river was perfect for our kids where it was a short walk away to access to the river but not immediate so we didn’t have to worry about water safety with the little ones. The river itself is gorgeous. Hookups were well maintained. Definitely recommend.

This was one of the most open beautiful spot ,the tent was the coolest. Good for a family gathering. . Big and open area. If you're the type that needs shade... bring a canopy. . Wonderful camping site and hosts. Absolutely beautiful creek. We panned for gold in the creek (more for the experience than the hope of finding gold haha). Clean port-o-potty, garbage can w bag was nice, comfy chairs and a picnic table provided. We loved the shelter area as a hang out spot since we couldn’t have a fire due to the burn ban. We brought our dog and kept him on his leash. Dianne mentioned she was dog sitting for a neighbor and that doggy was a little protective pf her driveway. The sweet dogs came up to visit a lot…which was fine with us. We just had to shoo them off to protect our dog and they listened. (My dog is a little nervous around some dogs)
We had to leave a day early because we didn’t feel like camping in the rain.

We loved camping at Jeremy’s spot! The tent was large and accommodating, the setup was perfect and he was fast to respond to questions. I highly recommend staying here if you’d like a break and to be with nature!

We stayed in a sweet, little tent spot nestled under the trees by the creek. It felt private and magical. The host came to meet us and show us where to park. It did require a little walk to the bathroom. No showers or electricity for our site. We were able to navigate in and out of the site with a 2WD campervan.

Nice grounds with several short hiking trails. Sandra and Roy were great hosts and helped us get parked and set up. Hookups worked perfectly. The site is near a county road, but there was no traffic to speak of any of the three nights we stayed. Great access to Wilkesboro and Merlefest.

This was my first Hipcamp experience and it was great. This is an AMAZING location - very near Merlefest (Wilkesboro, NC), and I was the only car camping here.
This is on a farm, in a field, with a creek and cows. There are port-a-potties that I didn't check out, an ice machine in a shed (free to use) and a really nice tree swing that overlooks the crick and the cows. There are fairy lights along the paths.
The owner has been a wonderful communicator, and everything was great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone (especially the Merlefest people out there!!!!!)

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and we had an absolute blast. The property is beautiful and the pictures just dont do it justice. They have a store you can shop at, pond you can fish in, creek to play in and cool farm animals to hang out with. There is also a waterfall thats a 5 minute drive from the property. Our only regret on this trip is that we didnt decide to stay longer.
Also- noticed barely any bugs, not sure if they treat their yards but I didnt need bug spray the whole trip and I was very much prepared to be covered in deet. So that was nice! Overall we had no complaints. Everyone was friendly, bath house was clean, yards were well maintained. We decided on our way home that we will definitely be back again!
