This property is 180 acres of woods and mountains with streams and ponds. Beautiful settings. If you like hiking in the mountains this will definitely hit the spot. You can fish in the ponds it has blue gills and catfish. I also added grass carp there as part of weed management. This used to be an abandoned farm which I want to bring back to life. The site offers three luxury large Safari Style Tents that are all separate and private. This is not a KOA style of camping where everyone is on top of each other. All tents are far away from each other to provide privacy and freedom of going Wild (still remaining civilized in your manners and careful attitude to Nature around you). Tent 1 is in the Forrest itself and it is pretty cool and serene. Tent 2 is on the top of a rocky hill overlooking the forest. Tent 3 is the most remote and closest to the ponds. It has most of the open space around it, and can be a great place for parties. We are working on making the sites and the area more comfortable, but I do not want to make it a manicured park. I want it to remain wild and still offer comfortable stay. The farm is work in progress. The closest town - Lenoir is about 12 miles away . Closest Grocery store (Dollar General) - about 3 miles away. Closest Gas station - 2 miles away. Professional Tennis court, Basketball court and large kids playground are in a public park within - 5 minute drive. Lenoir has restaurants, shopping, etc. Hickory is a larger town about 25 minutes drive. Hickory Lake is a large reservoir with marina where you can rent a boat and it also offers a good game fishing. Nice swimming beach access on Lake Hickory 13 miles ( 20 Minutes) from here: Lake Hickory Wittenburg access area (Wittenburg Access Area, 175 Wildlife Access Rd, Hickory, NC 28601) Asheville is 1:25 hrs to the West, Charlotte is 1:25 hr to the East. There are couple of Ski resorts 45 minutes to an hr away.

Eden Oaks Vineyard & Campground was a tobacco farm (antique tobacco barn still on property). The house was built in 1910 and has been updated. We purchased it in 2014 and converted it into a vineyard. We have RV sites with 50 amp and 30 amp electric hookups and water, and tents sites. For 2023 our rates are $30/night for RV Sites (50 amp or 30 amp electric hookups and water) and $25/night for Tent Sites. Tent sites do not have electricity or water hookups, but water is available at the well. (Due to inflation, 2024 our rates will be $30/night for RV Sites, $25/night for Tent Sites.) We do not have a dump station, but we do have a Port A John and a list of dump stations nearby. Campfires are allowed unless we have a state issued burning ban. Campers are responsible for controlling and extinguishing fires. Please be extremely careful during dry or drought conditions. Conveniently located one mile from Hwy 421 but remote and peaceful with plenty of room to roam on our 22 acres with grapevines, fruit trees, forest, creeks, fields, goats, Beagle and Jackabee (Beagle/Jack Russell) dogs, cows, chickens, ducks and goats. Also, we have wildlife such as birds, squirrels, groundhogs, deer, raccoons, opossums, etc. We are about 15 miles from Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro (home of the Merle Fest and Apple Festival). Eden Oaks is 18 miles from W. Kerr Scott Dam & Reservoir, 24 miles from Stone Mt. State Park, and 10 miles from Elkin (sponsors of the Wine Festival and Pumpkin Festival). Weekend Trip to Overland Camping for 4!

We had a great stay at Blue Ridge Ranch and would definitely come back. The overland camping spot was peaceful, well kept, and a perfect base to relax and enjoy the area. One of the highlights for us was the farm animal tour — such a fun and unique experience. Troy was an excellent host: welcoming, friendly, and clearly passionate about the property. The only downside for us was the waste disposal situation. We understand that Wilkes County charges $5 per bag, but in our opinion it would be easier to simply include that fee in the nightly rate instead of not offering disposal at all. Aside from that small issue, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend Blue Ridge Ranch to others looking for a unique camping experience.

Weekend Trip to The River-Monthly and daily Sites

We loved camping here! We’re hoping we can come back soon! The site was level and clean. Jenny was an amazing host that was very generous. All the dogs at the campground were our kids favorite part! The proximity to the river was perfect for our kids where it was a short walk away to access to the river but not immediate so we didn’t have to worry about water safety with the little ones. The river itself is gorgeous. Hookups were well maintained. Definitely recommend.

2 nights at PRIVATE Retreat near Lake Norman

I took my 4 year old granddaughter camping here at Amy’s Pecan Tree Farm, we stayed 2 nights and she didn’t want to leave. We hung a hammock up, we played with magnetic sand, she chased after the wild bunnies. She loved the outside string lights. I felt very safe. It was so peaceful! I will stay here again next time I’m passing through.

We really enjoyed our stay at Blue Bear. Mike was incredibly helpful in planning our arrival and when we checked in at camp. He is so knowledgeable about the local area and great to chat with. The campsite was just right for our Jeep/Teardrop. It was nice to have a nice open spot for long range views and stargazing at night. Bathrooms clean, showers hot, water fresh, power working, laundry on site - in other words, everything here is exactly what we needed. I would absolutely come back again and will recommend to others!

Weekend Trip to PRIVATE Retreat near Lake Norman

We had a lovely weekend! My 30 foot travel trailer was perfectly level, easy to hook up. Water and Electric. At the close of the weekend I drove over to Lake Norman State Park to dump my tanks. My friends came and set up their tent nearby. It was a quiet weekend, felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. And yet you’re close enough to Troutman if you want to go in for groceries or dinner. Or the nearby winery is a favorite place to go! Amy stopped by briefly just to welcome us! She was quick to communicate prior to the trip regarding any question I had. The rabbits and the birds kept us entertained all weekend. Recommend this place! We’ll be back!

This was my first Hipcamp experience and it was great. This is an AMAZING location - very near Merlefest (Wilkesboro, NC), and I was the only car camping here. This is on a farm, in a field, with a creek and cows. There are port-a-potties that I didn't check out, an ice machine in a shed (free to use) and a really nice tree swing that overlooks the crick and the cows. There are fairy lights along the paths. The owner has been a wonderful communicator, and everything was great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone (especially the Merlefest people out there!!!!!)

We loved this space! We came with our 2 dogs and our friends were in the other site. It was beautiful, very clean/well kept and overall a great relaxing weekend. Janet and her husband were very welcoming when we arrived and guided us into the site and asked if we needed any help etc. Will definitely be returning!
