Quiet area of Valle Crucis. It is just 2 miles from the original Mast General Store. Larger units must back in carefully between the guard rail and the ditch. The lot had some damage from Helene.
This is a parking lot of an old church and sits by two small creeks.
Maximum stays are up to 6 nights. No water, no septic. No generators are allowed.
Large concrete pad/parking lot for RV and an extra car or two. This is a campsite only, an RV is not included. We have electricity but no water or septic. In the spring, summer, and fall - We have a toilet and hand-washing sink inside the building that you may use if you select this as an "add-on". A code to enter the building will be sent if you add this feature. This site does not have potable water and does not have a shower. The closest public bathrooms are at Valle Crucis Community Park. Mountain Dog Coffee and Holloway Corner Kitchen are private, but good places to start your day with coffee and/or food.
Please respect our neighbors by limiting noise. This lot is private, but you may see or hear the neighbors.
Dogs must always be on a leash when outside your RV or car.
There are no garbage cans or trash pick-up; pack it out, please. The trash/convenience center is about 2 miles away on 194 for you to take your garbage.
We DO NOT advise taking Clarks Creek Rd. from 105 to get to this location. You must travel to Clarks Creek through Valle Crucis via 194. You must also detach any trailer or towed items a mile or so before the camp spot and before the switchbacks. Please view the map and be comfortable with travel to our campsite. There are sections of the road with no shoulder and pit holes due to current construction/road work.
There is very limited cellular service in this area. WiFi & WiFi calling should work fine.

10/9/2024 NOTICE: We had some damage to our road due to Hurricane Helene that made it impassable. It has since been repaired and is opened to traffic. There are still some remaining rough areas, but the road is easily passable by passenger vehicles and RV's up to 28ft.
Our site was once part of a much larger farm growing tobacco and raising
cattle and other farm animals.
The existing tobacco barn was built in the early 1960's.
The concrete pad used for RV camping was used to store silage for the cows.
The non-potable water source is a mountain spring that has been used on the farm since the 1930's.
While many tobacco barns in the area have been
torn down for their rusted tin roofing and rustic siding, we have worked to
restore the barn and preserve its history.

A perfect place to relax and enjoy the trees!
The treehouse is approximately 10'x10'. There is a loft consisting of a brand new foam full-size mattress while facing a clear semi-see-through roof. A futon sits below it. The bathroom consists of a portable toilet and sink in a tent off the treehouse. A shower station sits on the other side of the treehouse. Although there is no plumbing, both have water. (You only need to bring drinking water for yourselves.) There is electricity and WiFi. There is a cooler and an electric kettle available for you to use. Outside of the treehouse, there is a fire pit, a grill, a hammock, and a slide - plenty to do while relaxing in nature!
Please bring blankets/sleeping bags and pillows to sleep. (Both the foam mattress and the futon will have freshly laundered sheets.) If you plan to use the grill, please bring your own charcoal. Grilling utensils are provided.
Firewood is provided for the fire pit.
Although smoking is allowed on the premises, we ask that you do not smoke inside the treehouse. If you decide to smoke, please clean up after yourselves.
Checking out is easy! We ask that you throw away your trash & recycles and return the key to the lockbox. We take care of the rest! There is no need to refill the water or take the sheets off of the mattresses.
The hideaway is behind our backyard so you may see/hear us from time to time. There may be a cat or a dog running around although we find that they do not go out there as much without us.

Wiseman Ridge is a boutique micro campground for RVs only, first opened in July of 2022. Our property adjoins the Blue Ridge Parkway in Linville Falls NC with easy access off NC 221. We offer 5 full hook up RV sites with views of Hawksbill, Table Rock and Humpback Mountains. Micro means we have only a handful of sites but that is where micro ends. Each site is expansive, with large areas to spread out and enjoy the views or play yard games. Unlike typical RV parks our sites are spread out on the ridge top and offer great views and lots of space.
Our campground offers a unique camping experience for the RV and outdoors enthusiast. All of our RV sites feature views of the surrounding peaks and have full hook ups with, water, septic and 30 or 50 amp power access, high speed wi-fi access at each site as well as a picnic table and in ground fire pits.
Wiseman Ridge provides the peace and quiet of nature at its finest, with easy direct access to the Blue Ridge Parkway by foot or by road. We are just a mile down the parkway from the entrance to the Linville Falls parking lot and picnic area, and 2 miles from Kistler Memorial Highway (Old NC 105) that provides access to the western rim of Linville Gorge and multiple trailheads.
Our campground is for conventional travel trailers and motorhomes only. We do not have bathroom or bathhouse facilities so we cannot allow campers that do not have a self contained bathroom that can hook up to a conventional RV sewer drain and no human waste is allowed in our trash receptacles.

Use Greener Acres campsite as your jumping-off point for fun nearby activities or relax on our 40 acre mountainside property and watch for meteor showers in the clear night sky! Within 5 minutes, you can be at Roan Mountain State Park or drive 5-10 minutes to hike the Appalachian Trail. Campsite also boasts energizing, private hike up to Heaton Ridge. Want to spend the day kayaking or canoeing? Head to Wilbur Lake, about a 30 minute drive away from our campsite. Exploring Laura Falls is only a 20 minute drive away. Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Mountain in N.C. are about 30-45 minutes away. The Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, and Dollywood are about a 2 hour drive through amazing mountain views. The annual Rhododendron Festival takes place minutes away. Supplies can be found at the state park camp store or in town at Redi-Mart or Dollar General. Water and showers are down by barn. A Gator is available for the duration of your stay. Please arrive before sundown so we can meet you the first time you stay to show you the way and make sure you are comfortable driving Gator. We will have you follow us up to the campsite and from there you can come and go and just leave the Gator by your car near the barn when you are out and about and when checking out. A small Bluetti power charging station will be available in the tent (for light charging of cell phones, other) which can be recharged by the barn if used heavily. A Coleman stove with a small propane tank, pots, a frying pan and utensils is also included in the site. Another small propane tank is provided for the radiator in the tent.

Gusher Knob is a 220+ acre forested mountain near Spruce Pine, NC. One of the campsites has a 12 x 12 raised platform for your tent (we don't recommend pitching a tent anywhere other than the platform), picnic table, fire pit, and a hook to hold a lantern. This first campsite on the property has a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. A second campsite is in development and will be available in the near future. It is more primitive (no picnic table or platform yet) is in a forested section with access to the Toe River. It is not available currently, but improvements are planned such as building a platform, adding a picnic bench and expanding the current fire pit.
Please stay on the trails and the campsite areas as the surrounding land is private and monitored. Cell coverage is ok. Nearby hiking, climbing, and fly fishing are a few activities you will enjoy when visiting this lovely area of western NC.
One campsite is a short 7-minute easy hike along a well-marked clear trail from the parking spot. The trail is non-technical and will mostly accommodate camping gear with wheels, such as a cooler. The future campsite takes a little longer hike to reach (10-minutes).
Since it's situated in the woods, please be aware that you may encounter any number of nature's residents such as deer, squirrels, box turtles, wild turkeys, and bears. Please do not feed them and make sure to protect any food items appropriately. None of the natural residents has any interest in you personally, but they are known to be drawn to available food items.

The camp site was awesome! Loved the amenities and how safe it felt. Bathrooms were very clean and stocked. The hospitality was top notch and would definitely go back to camp here again. The pond was FULL of trout and huge ones! The only thing that I would say is that $10 per fish you catch is a little much. I think if the price was lowered to maybe like $2 or $3 then it would be more worth it. And fun. Felt a little robbed from that but other than that, loved absolutely everything else!

Also got to greet the farm cat on the day we left, such a sweetheart. I didn't get service until I got to the site but 5g was available. Me and my buddy had a great time!

Wonderful camping site and hosts. Absolutely beautiful creek. We panned for gold in the creek (more for the experience than the hope of finding gold haha). Clean port-o-potty, garbage can w bag was nice, comfy chairs and a picnic table provided. We loved the shelter area as a hang out spot since we couldn’t have a fire due to the burn ban. We brought our dog and kept him on his leash. Dianne mentioned she was dog sitting for a neighbor and that doggy was a little protective pf her driveway. The sweet dogs came up to visit a lot…which was fine with us. We just had to shoo them off to protect our dog and they listened. (My dog is a little nervous around some dogs)
We had to leave a day early because we didn’t feel like camping in the rain.

Each site has picnic table, firepit & pearock tent pad, facing a semi circle around a grassy lawn that had a gazebo w/ Adirondack chairs ( came in handy when it rained just to chill out) and a sink to wash dishes in . Bathrooms w/ hot shower & laundry were steps away. It was convenient having the food truck/ restaurant on site. Had a delicious portobello sandwich:). Pineola is located 8 min to Blue Ridge Parkway & 22min to Hawksbill trailhead.

Easy tent camping. Close to hikes & BR parkway. Having a restaurant on site was nice as well as a hot shower.

The Pineola is a wonderful place, the team reached out shortly after booking with all the necessary information, the location and campsite was easy to find and the campsite was in a beautiful spot. The only recommendation I have is to contact the Pineola before booking to see if there is a love band that will be playing outside as this happened during my stay and made it difficult to go to sleep as I could here the band/music until they ended around 10:00 pm. I would definitely book again, but will call ahead next time to check.

Group trip
I had a group of 14 with me wanting to do a big camping experience. Blue Bear was perfect for it. Excellent space and views. The campground was filled up but we still felt we had our own area without our neighbors being too close or loud. Central bathrooms were clean and appreciated.

Quiet peaceful mountaintop retreat. The road is a little bumpy and steep but well worth it. The showers and bathrooms were clean and my dog and I definitely enjoyed the on property trails.

We had an awesome time!!! The tent sites were not too close and we were able to pull up directly to our site. The tap room was so fun with live music and friendly folks. The drinks were a tad bit pricey.
