Welcome to RRF! We are a small ranchette that specializes in sheep, horses, and chickens. Located in Victoria Virginia, the farm is an hour to Richmond, 45 minutes to Farmville, and 45 minutes from John Kerr reservoir (on the boarder of NC). We are pet friendly, and the property is completely fenced. Enjoy free unlicensed fishing on property in our small pond, stocked with catfish and bluegills, or let the pups swim away the summer heat. Enjoy a walk on the nearby Tobacco Trail, fish at one of the many nearby rivers and lakes. Roast marshmallows over a fire and stargaze or catch fireflies all night. All sites have access to a portable compost toilet, and we can provide water for the sun showers. We have tent sites, and an RV site, 420friendly but we do not partake. PLEASE NOTE: No Check In After 9PM! The camp sites are only available with direction of host ( new closer parking area and camp area access gate for 2025!!) Exceptions can be made in an emergency stay. THINGS TO DO IN TOWN: Bike or hike the Tobacco Trail and see the railroad park. Local farmers market and livestock sales- down town. The lake at the VFW- good fishing and lovely strolling paths See the falls or fish and hike at Nottaway Falls. We stayed at this cabin at Holly Forest for a few nights over thanksgiving. The cabin held our little family (2 adults 2 young kids) well on the loft bed and the pull-out couch. The grounds are beautiful and we had a ton of fun at the basketball court and the field next to it. We cooked food in the provided toaster oven/air fryer but could have easily used the common area equipment too (grill, griddle pan, pizza oven). Hosts were responsive to our needs. Bathrooms were clean and close to our cabin. We would come back!

Lacie and her family were extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The tent campsites felt super private, the land is beautiful. They provided us with treats to feed the horses, they keep fishing and cooking equipment in their barn for you to use. They even hooked us up with some cooking oil when we forgot ours. Only minutes from town but you feel like you're worlds away out there. They sent us off with a fresh dozen eggs and smiles. We had an amazing time and will absolutely be back.

It was quite cold at night but we were given a space heater and the mattress had heating pads on both sides of the bed. The common areas had large space heaters and the showers gave us super nice hot water. It was so very cozy. We enjoyed fishing on their pond. The bathroom was so close to the lodge, we really didn’t need the golf cart they gave us, but it was fun to have anyways. They had huge jackery batteries that they made sure were full daily. This was genuinely a glamping experience. I loved it because we still definitely felt like we were “camping” just with high end amenities. We envisioned the entire space would be so perfect for any kind of weekend event just with all the different facilities within the sight. We stayed with our pups and they loved seeing the cows in the morning!! First time we took them camping and they did so great. We had a great stay :)

We stayed at the screen house for one night and wish we could have stayed another night. The screen house itself was top notch… secluded yet close to the main area, clean, well maintained, and cozy. Jim and Becky did a great job of adding conveniences to the experience with heated beds, battery for charging, lighting, cooler with ice, bathhouse, cooking area with seating, and more. There are a few different options for accommodations including glamping tent, screen houses, and a cute little cabin with a loft. This is a great place for a group. They can cook together and enjoy the community space, very cozy. We will be back.

I loved the little screen house "The Retreat" that my wife and I stayed in! It was amazingly beautiful from the clear roof to the full open concept. Don't get me wrong there were privacy and blackout curtains to draw for privacy lol. Jim and Becky and their family are just amazing, and so is the property. Everything is so easy and convenient not to mention your own golf cart to wonder around on and get back forth from your place to the bathroom's, and the gathering place. They have a bull that is a BBQ grill and the smoke comes out of the nose, a long with a pizza oven a gas grill and flat top at your disposal. They also have some items there that you can purchase like pizza kits and wood, ect. They also host events and weddings!! All of their rentals are spread out for privacy of each other.

My first night solo camping and I couldn't have picked a better spot! I camped in the forest behind the church and it's beautiful and peaceful. Composting toilets (and an outdoor shower) are just a short walk away. Kevin was friendly and very helpful. I'll definitely stay again when I'm in the area.

Oak Grove Retreat is truly a special place!!! I feel a profound sense of happiness and tranquility when I am there. The hosts consistently provide friendly service and create a welcoming atmosphere. The grounds are always well maintained, featuring beautiful moss covered trails, seasonal gardens and a lush forest. I have also enjoyed participating in several events there over the last few years and look forward to my next visit.

Lovely place to camp! We had a great time, and our dog really loved being off leash throughout our stay. Me and my husband appreciated having an outhouse and camp shower too. But something to consider is the walk from car to campsite, which could be difficult for some people. There are destinations nearby to fish, hike, swim and sightsee. The hosts, Lacie and Doug, are sweet and helpful. We were given black walnuts, muscadine grapes and wild oranges that all grow on their land. So cool to see that. Overall, we had a great time!

Charming farm filled with variety of animals. Owners are nice people with great hospitality. Definitely recommend the carrot cake and the french toast breakfast. Nice wooded area for camping site.The sunrise complete with foggy pastures. Would recommend and will return.

The Lodge was fantastic. Rustic but comfortable. It was nestled in the woods and close to everything. The property is beautiful. There are plenty of views and things to do. The hosts have thought if everything. Battery packs provide power for phones, fans, etc. A filled ice chest was provided for us upon arrival. Complimentary water, coffee, and tea. A large area for parties, a charcoal grill (In a steer sculpture, lol), small gas grill, and a pizza oven! Outdoor games, basketball, horseshoe pits, cornhole... They even have bamboo fishing poles for the pond!

Amazing! My daughter and I had SUCH a fun, relaxing experience! The property has lots to do, is beautiful, cabins are awesome and clean, and we felt safe! We particularly enjoyed the pickleball court:) Decorations/decor are so well done- lots of thought and care have gone into this place. Lacie and Doug were the kindest people I have come across in a long time. They cared about my comfort level and were extremely accommodating. They have such a beautiful relationship with their animals. There are a lot of camp sites to choose from and their house has an authentic farm feel. The French toast was delicious. They made it easy to check in and out. I would HIGHLY recommend this experience. I can’t say enough positive things about this family. They have a wonderful son who was very helpful. I loved “The Retreat” on Jim & Becky’s land. This site is like a “camping venue” I can envision a small wedding or a couples trip here. They have a gas grill if you don’t know how to charcoal grill and the shower gets really hot. I like how they also inform us if there are others staying anywhere else in any of the other cabins so it helped give others privacy and not explore “too far”.
