We have records that date back to our 6th Great-Grandfather, Joab Fountain, who received a royal grant from the crown in 1773 for the property and then just a grist mill, blacksmith shop and old general store. The property was passed down through the Fountain family until the late 1910's. Originally a creek dammed up for the purpose of the mill it was later dug out in the late 1940's by Lee Baysden. The property also features 2 smaller ponds and surrounded by woods, swamp, and farmed fields, a total of 84 acres. Divided by Duplin and Onslow County line making it very unique! Chinquapin, NC The store/office is the original detached kitchen from his homeplace, which is the white house just up the street. We still use this today and it has Mr. Lee Baysden's handwriting in the store that states opened June 1956. The pond was owned and fished until the late 1990's. A hurricane damaged the dam and land was sold sometime after. The next owner dug the pond into the lake it is today and fixed the dam. In 2020 My husband Tyler, and I decided to buy the Pond Our camp office/store is opened most weekends or by check-in requests and fishing passes available 7 days a week online from sunrise-dark. Our lake features fishing for Bass, Crappie, Bream, Catfish, Bowfin, varieties of Panfish, and more. Also campers will find a guest book in the little library under the pine tree with a concrete bench nearby (you drive around in as you pull into the campsite). There are four permanent 4 shelters on the property. Composting toilets. Showers are still in the works. All of the shelters have their own composting toilets. Small propane heaters are available for each shelter. The first 1gallon bottle off propane is free with your stay. it will last 5-7 hrs. each additional bottles will cast $6.00 per bottle. There is also solar, powered lights, usb charging stations, fans, and air coolers. each Conestego hut has a locking front door to keep your belongings safe Campfires, hiking, canoeing and kayaking. Kayaks, canoes and lifejackets are available. All the Wilmington beaches are within 30 minutes.

The campsite has a large paver stone patio and picnic table. We have a fire pit and when able we would be happy to host a night around the fire. We are pet friendly but request that dogs be on a leash or tie-out. We expect guests to pickup pet "litter". Campers are encouraged to use the swing and chairs set back under the pines. Also campers will find a guest book in the little library under the pine tree with a concrete bench nearby (you drive around in as you pull into the campsite). Nestled 30-45 min outside of North Myrtle beach and Myrtle Beach SC this 4.5 acre lot with roughly 1.25-1.5 cleared yard has a perfect driveway to park for the night, week or even month or longer! We live on property and the spot is next to our house. Full hook ups are available with a 50 amp hook up. An extension cord is recommended to reach the outlet depending on camper size and hook up location on the rig and multiple or very long water hose recommended. No size limit and pets are welcome, the front and back yards are fenced off for our dogs as well and the driveway is gated. The woods are walkable for the adventurous but there are no walking paths. Located in a quiet road right off the main road to the beach this is the perfect location for families and couples alike to get away from the hustle and bustle of the packed campgrounds. Our small town is located within a 10 min drive that hosts a great small pizza shop, many mom and pop restaurants, food lion grocery store, and couple of fast food restaurants and some small hardware stores.

I came here in early November and wound up extending my stay twice because we enjoyed it so much. Connie and Jeff have a beautiful well maintained piece of property with plenty of level ground for the camper. There were several trails I explored with my pets and plenty of wood for fires at night. Plus only a 15 minute drive to the beach. It felt very private and safe the whole time I was there. I hope to be back someday!

This time we got to enjoy s’mores by the campfire and test our new tent. If you visit on a clear night and the moon is full you don’t even need a flashlight to see outside. Perfect area for letting the dog run also!

This was our first Hip camp experience, and we enjoyed our stay! While the camp site isn't quite as secluded as I had imagined (both in proximity to the host house and the highway), the hosts were very responsive and attentive, and helped ensure we had all we needed to enjoy our stay. My son and I enjoyed the first night so much that I extended my stay and brought my daughter back for the second night. The kids both loved the animals, and the convenience to Topsail Beach (15 minutes away) is hard to beat. Thanks for a great weekend!

It is a wonderful place to camp. Wake up and see the sunrise over the lake is breathtaking. Great to see all of the lovely animals on the farm, which you get to see as you walk to the bathhouse. You can see the traffic on the main highway as its lights go by. The very low noise from the traffic is no worry, as when you want to sleep (Day or Night), the host is always only a text away if you need anything. We will be going back. The store they have next to the bathhouse is great to get some food to cook.

We loved staying at JCO & our already looking to book again. Such a beautiful, peaceful place with wonderful hosts! Tessa & her husband are so sweet and helpful plus pumped tanks on checkout. So accommodating for our Girl Scout Family camping trip. Fishing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing available plus small swing set area for little ones. Camp in the rough or glamping with water & electric hookups both are available. Small store with bail, firewood & accessories on site. Note there is no bath house with showers available & only portable toilets at this time.
