Tina and Joe were very nice! The property is beautiful, but remote! There is electricity and water, as well as very nice bathrooms, but if you're looking for a place that's quick to get in and out of, you may need to look elsewhere. The quiet nights were gorgeous and relaxing. I hadn't been camping in a long time, so there were things I didn't think about, but the location is close enough to Wilkesboro that I could pick those things up at the local DG or Walmart.

Our stay was amazing. Came in for just one night for a concert we have been looking forward to. Elizabeth was fantastic and communicated well. Her place was tucked off the beaten path but so perfect. A little bit of a hike I must say so pack accordingly :). Such a peaceful place for our little getaway. We will definitely stay here again.

Our stay was great. The love shake was a great size four two and two dogs. She has very helpful amenities throughout the camp spot. The dogs loved the creak and the trail. The trail was about a 15 minute walk, a must do. She was very responsive and accomidating. The outhouse looks intimidating on the pictures but it was very nice. Clean and no odor at all. The showers were great, clean and plenty of hot water.

Cozy tent and a comfy bed. A perfect spot for self reflection. I really enjoyed the solar shower. Be sure to wait until midday or later so that you have warm water to use.

Great environment! I really enjoyed the homey feel to the camp ground. We got away for a weekend and it was an awesome Experience. If you love dogs, her dogs stayed with us for most the night! They are so sweet and not aggressive! Lots of things to do! I would highly recommend!

Slice of heaven! Quiet and beautiful views. Owners were caring and friendly. The sites were so well thought out. I appreciated all the detail that went into making this property a unique and beautiful place to stay. Just look around and you can see how much time and money was spent. The site itself is level, trash can available, firewood available, clean beautiful rock to park on, beautiful wood chairs on red stone, open property for the dog to run, enchanting pine tree forest and full hookup. Be prepared for a decent amount of wind because you are on a mountain.

We had a lovely experience at the Babbling Brook Treehouse! We went with our two children, who loved playing hide-and-seek and walking across the slackline. We even met the animals and got a chance to milk a goat! Elizabeth is a GEM—such a kind and welcoming host. I expect that we will return again, and I would recommend it!

We loved our weekend at the Mystic Meadow love shack! This was our first experience with HipCamp and it did not disappoint. The site was so peaceful and cute and had so many fun and intentional details! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom, showers and cabin were all very clean and well appointed. We had total privacy but Wendy checked in periodically to make sure that all was well. The stream sounds were wonderfully peaceful and sitting on the swing by the stream, relaxing in the hammock and enjoying our coffee by the fire in the mornings were highlights. A truly wonderful place for a relaxing adventure. I hope that we can return soon!

My goodness, we found a gem! Elizabeth and Mark (and of course their doggo Seth who is on the welcoming committee!) were also gems - very kind, accommodating, sincere, and thoughtful! The sound of the brook was so lovely, the privacy was perfect, the setup was a perfect balance of woodsy and convenient, the price was so good, all of the solar lighting and cute signs everywhere were so inviting, and all of the amenities provided (chairs, hammocks, cookware, etc) made packing so much less stressful which is exactly what you want for a mini vacation! We really were just looking for a serene place to camp and this was exactly that. The location was perfect as we went there to mountain bike at Warrior Creek. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it! :)

This was such an amazing place and space! The land is absolutely stunning, the "Love Shack" was clean, comfortable and the way the roof opened up to the porch was epic. She left little snacks and plenty of resources to discover nearby, even though, I didn't want to leave this haven! The outhouse was surprisingly more pleasant than regular campground bathrooms. Mystic Meadows is truly a magical place to unplug and recharge. There are hiking trails and some games and a hammock. Wendy is an incredible host and I will be back many more times. Best birthday gift I ever gave myself! Thank you!

Babbling Brook Campground

Before the Kerr Scott Reservoir was built, in the 40's and 50's, this neighborhood was a local swimming hole and vacation area. Public buses came from neighboring communities so people could boat, swim, camp, and picnic. While we don't have access to the pond, our part of this land still is calling out to people, 'Come, rest, unload your burdens, and find peace.' When we started this project with Hipcamp, we didn't fully realize that we were reconnecting with the history on this property. So, come, take your shoes off, and wade in the creek. Read a book while laying in a hammock. Sit by the fire and chat with family and friends. Come and participate in our little homesteading project, and leave your burdens behind. LOCAL ACTIVITIES: To the west is the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is 30 minutes away. 15 minutes away is Kerr Scott Dam where you can rent kayaks, pontoon boats, as well as other sporting equipment. Fish, go mountain biking on the extensive trails, and hiking. Prayer Mountain is right up the road, about 2 miles away. Heading east, you can find several fine wineries andvineyards that you can visit. There is also a moonshine distillery in town. About a half hour away is an Amish community that has several businesses open to the public, including the Shiloh Bakery and General Store. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. To the northeast, about 45 minutes away, is Stone Mountain. Absolutely fantastic hiking, it is also an old homestead that has been renovated and is open to the public. To the south, there is Rocky Face Park, where there is hiking and rock climbing. Nearby, is Emerald Hollow Mine, where you can go and find, and keep, precious stones you find in the nearby river. There is also a great disk course course, Highland Hills Disc Golf Course, one of the top 25 in the country. There is fun for all ages. Merlefest, the last weekend of April, is a world class Bluegrass festival, is located right in our town. Be sure to look at the activities section below for additional information.

I know the area was inhabited by native Americans many decades ago. I have found a few broken arrow heads over the years. The farm is beautiful and quiet. Located in the tranquil, natural woodlands of our historic family farm. There are 30 acres of hiking trails with remnants of what once was an 80 acre old fashioned family tobacco farm. There are plenty of level areas covered in lush grass and surrounded by trees as old as dirt! The Honeymoon Sweet provides an indoor experience. It was built by my Uncle Frank who cut the wood off the land and milled it into the lumber he needed to make this unique, rustic space. There is a rock fire pit with lots of easily accessible firewood. You can hang out and enjoy mother nature or visit one of the many local tourist attractions like Pilot Mountain State Park, historic Mt Airy with it's charming small town hospitality, Hanging Rock State Park in the Sauratown Mountains affords breathtaking views, hiking trails, waterfalls and fishing. If you are a history buff, we are just a short drive to Bethania a National Historic Landmark, Historic Bethabara founded by Moravians in 1753 or step back to the 18th century at Old Salem home of the famous Winkler Bakery and Salem Tavern that provided lodging for George Washington in 1791.

The property is also a quick 10 minute trip into town - the musical and artistic Floyd, VA - where you can find a grocery store and some restaurants as well. We hope you'll enjoy the peaceful setting, overlooking onto the creek, and our farm animals as much as we do! About the Listings: Creek View Cabin: The cabin has a cozy bed that sits in the lofted space (you will need to climb up a set of ladder steps to reach the bed), and a couch option on the ground level for sleeping accommodations. There is a unique cabin shower, a composting toilet, well and tap water available for campers, a wonderful Solo stove for you to build a fire and to cozy up near, and a picnic table for enjoying a bite to eat! A deck sits right outside the cabin that overlooks the creek, and will be private for you during your stay. We welcome your pets, just please ensure they are on a leash since there are other farm animals on the property. While the cabin is the only one on our property, and somewhat private, you may see the Hosts in passing on the farm. Additional Details to Note: - Check in is after 4pm and check out by 10am - You can stay connected if you'd like to, as cell reception is available on our property. The cabin does not have wifi. Feel free to unplug during your stay though! - This spot is family friendly, so feel free to bring the kids and furry friends if you'd like! - Fires allowed only in the Solo stove Please feel free to reach out with any questions and we look forward to your stay! Spring Side Cabin: The goal of our cabin is to give guests an up-close view of life on a farm :). The cabin is on the edge of our active family farm, and directly beside the dairy goat barn. Our livestock dog lives with the goats, and you will hear her bark. (We provide ear plugs in case of night time barking). Bring your sense of adventure, but please do not book if you will be bothered by goat sounds, a dog barking or rooster crowing! We want you to be happy wherever you stay! The cabin has a driveway to the front door and is accessible by 3 stairs onto the porch. It's perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring and listening to the quiet sounds of the country. We have found that our guests are interested in having some local amenities available upon check-in. We love to make our guests comfortable, so have put together a variety of packages for you to select from upon confirmation of reservation.
