Weekend Trip to Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat

We tent camped for a night during a basketball tournament and had the place to ourselves. The pooch is super friendly and greeted us upon arrival and in the morning. The teepees looked cool. Great little spot to crash for the night. The only downside was that we could hear some loud cars occasionally through the night. A little white noise playing on the cell phone solved 95% of that.

My boyfriend and I loved staying on Steve's property! We loved having our own personal part of a river to fall asleep to. Whether we were lounging in our hammocks or cooking this property was so peaceful and serene yet still close enough to major stores for our inevitable walmart run. My only regret is we didn't bring fishing poles! Steve was so friendly and welcoming and we are so thankful for him and his wife's hospitality.

Perfect site for primitive camping!! Falling asleep to the sounds of the creek is an excellent experience and the hosts, Steve and His Wife are very pleasant and make a mean breakfast. Definitely recommend the swimming hole !!

What a great experience. We set up our campervan on site 7, a big open field. Very quiet. The moon rising was breathtaking. In the morning we met Joy. She brought us carrots and introduced us to all the animals. AMAZING! Water easily accessible. Uwharrie only 15 minutes away. Fun hiking and mountain biking!

Weekend Trip to Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat

Staying in the Tee Pee was so much fun! There was no electricity ( which we knew in advance) no a hike to the bathroom/ shower making it feel like you were in the wilderness The weather was great , the host was available if needed Recommend bringing the little ones, they would have a great time

2 nights at Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat

So fun! Very responsive hosts and we had the place to ourselves. The movie night was magical and we had a lot of fun lounging in hammocks, exploring the campsites and playing board games at the picnic table. The rustic tent was comfortable and the shower was nice! They could use some new table umbrellas, and the walk to the porta potty might not be great for someone with more limited mobility, but we were fine! The place would be great for a small group to enjoy together as the picnic table and fire pit are near a nice sized field in between the tipis and the campsites.

Had such a fun time! Site was very private and away from all the hustle and bustle (couldn’t hear anything but nature). Host was attentive and brought us extra firewood :) property had well managed trails and our dogs enjoyed their off leash privileges. 10/10 would camp again!

Scott had fast response time. He was very nice! Feeding the chickens and goats was such a nice little addition! I have a 9,4,3,2 year old and let me tell you they had a blast. This was our first time camping and they were so good. We initially were just gonna spend one night but since they were so good we decided to stay another night. Luckily the night after wasn’t booked because he was booked up for the rest of that month. Our car also died because I was charging my phone and Scott quickly came to help us out! 10/10 stay

This place was absolutely perfect! We had such a fun time camping, canoeing, and exploring the woods! The stars were gorgeous at night and we could hear the frogs and the barred owl calls. Couldn’t have asked for a better camping destination! We were able to drive right up to the camp site and had plenty of room to relax and explore.

We had a great time! The hosts have water (and wood if purchased) ready for campers when they arrive. Really nice, clean area to hangout and plenty of spots to set up tents. We appreciated the wood, water, & watercloset available.

First time to swimming hole we rented 2 nights we were able to fit 2 big camp tent and 2 small tent for bathroom and bath we all loved this place so peaceful been able to sleep with the noise of the river was lovely and relax we are planing on coming back once it gets more hot ! The owner was really helpful with all my question and didn’t take long to reply back to my message really helpful I really do recommend camping here !

Waterfall camping close to CLT

My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat is a small slice of paradise in Mocksville NC. We are the last property at the end of a dirt road surrounded by woods on all sides. We built this space as our little stay-cation spot and knew we had to share it. We are passionate about what we do and work hard to continue to build and grow and share this beautiful space for others to enjoy. We have 3 primitive sites and 2 authentic tee-pees. There is a bath house with a heated shower, and a port-a-john that is cleaned regularly. There are 2 picnic areas with charcoal grills. We have a 24x16 enclosed stage that can be used for bands, educational classes, karaoke, yoga... ect. There is also an outdoor movie theater that is available to rent for an evening. There are a few restaurants close by and we are only 6 miles from downtown Mocksville. There are a lot of wineries and breweries within a 30 min drive from our property. We are about 15 minutes from river access to the Yadkin river for anyone looking to Kayak. There are lots of local fishing holes and places to go horseback riding. We are about an hour drive to lots of different hiking trails from pilot mountain, and hanging rock to the blue ridge parkway. We have 2 dogs that live here and will greet you at the gate. Please be respectful of the neighbors and drive slowly down the dirt road to our property to limit dust. We look forward to hosting your camping get away.

Enjoy hiking on the extensive trails or fishing and canoeing in the pond. Crystal clear, large flowing creek gently winds through the property. Abundant wildlife including deer, turkey, opossum, raccoon, skunk - even the occasional bear, coyote, and wild boar have been caught on game cameras. Only 1 hour from Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Greensboro, yet feels like a world away. 30 minutes from the North Carolina Zoo and the Carolina Treetop Challenge at Rock Creek Park. Minutes from Historic Gold Hill, Tuckertown Reservoir, Uwharrie National Forest and Badin Lake. Tents only please; as the road to the campsite is narrow and. AWD or 4WD may be required during wet weather. Cars that are low to the ground are not recommended. We have table and 2 bench seats, fire pit, water, trash bin, toilet, a canoe and noodles to use in pond at the pond site. Learn more about this land: In this 40 acre track there are 2 hay fields, pasture, and forrest. From any area you camp🏕 the pond🏞, with fish, is in walking distance, so is a beautiful clear stream. ****Did I mention that this stream empties into Lake Tillary, yep, that is right. We are within walking distance to Lake Tillary and less than 5 mins to the boat landing. You may bring your boat and park it here while you camp. SPECIAL NOTE: There are animals here that you may pet once you have been properly introduced. You may bring your pets as long as they are vaccinated and behaved. If they fight with other animals or chase chickens or ducks you may want to test this upon your arrival. Unfortunately, you must keep them on leash at all times. Our County does have a leash law, and should property🌱🌹🌻🚜🚗📬🗑or animals🦌🐂🐏🐐🐰🦃🦆 be damaged or harmed you will be held responsible. For example, if your dog kills a chicken, you buy the chicken🐓🐔🐥. If they harm a horse🐎 or donkey🐴, you are responsible for ALL vet fees. Also, be aware we have coyotes, osprey, hawks, as any rural area does. Small animals must be suprevised. We are not responsible for acts of nature. The barn is beautiful and you are welcome to take photos, however, you are NOT permitted in the barn without supervision. Absolutley NO smoking or fire near the barn. It is over 100 years old and built by my great grand family and is irreplaceable. SPECIAL FEATURE: As I am just beginning the camp on site experience I offer several options and additional services. #1. Some find out after arriving that I teach NC Concealed Carry Handgun Classes. If you wish to participate in a class, it is preferred that you register before the day of the class. I will post classes on this site so that campers will know there will be shooting in the late afternoon. Some chose to camp on other weekends, some choose to go out to eat during those times, and some don't mind either way. #2. I am also much in favor of work for camp site. Some have asked to do clean up or other small jobs for the priviledge to camp. So far this has worked out well, with one exception. Please do not accept an offer to take on a task that you do not know how to do. Example, pulling weeds or trimming if you do not know what a weed verses flower looks like. LOL #3. There is plenty of firewood, see photos, here laying around and some trees down that will make great firewood (bring your own cutting tools.) We also sell firewood by the bundle. #4. Being a camper here gives you the privilege of fresh veggies and fruits that are in season, as well as fresh free range eggs. MAJOR POINT: You must remember this is a working farm and our duties and responsibilities for the farm come first. You must abide by the boundaries. *see map* The creek is the back boundary and should never be crossed onto my neighbors. I will not tolerate any disrespect to my neighbors, what so ever. No! the roosters don't have an off button, neither does the jacka... donkey! When it is hay cutting time, we will cut hay. If you want to hike the property, feel free, know the boundaries and bring a machete to cut your way by the creek/stream in some areas. We have thistle trees and briars, you are welcome to cut all you wish as you go. There are spiders, bugs, and snakes etc. Black snakes, king snakes, runners, and whip snakes belong here and we ask that you do not kill them. Copperheads are here as qell and if you see one, come get me and I will dispatch it for you. .
