We purchased it in 2014 and converted it into a vineyard. We have RV sites with 50 amp and 30 amp electric hookups and water, and tents sites. For 2023 our rates are $30/night for RV Sites (50 amp or 30 amp electric hookups and water) and $25/night for Tent Sites. Tent sites do not have electricity or water hookups, but water is available at the well. (Due to inflation, 2024 our rates will be $30/night for RV Sites, $25/night for Tent Sites.) We do not have a dump station, but we do have a Port A John and a list of dump stations nearby. Campfires are allowed unless we have a state issued burning ban. My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. 10/9/2024 NOTICE: We had some damage to our road due to Hurricane Helene that made it impassable. It has since been repaired and is opened to traffic. There are still some remaining rough areas, but the road is easily passable by passenger vehicles and RV's up to 28ft. Our site was once part of a much larger farm growing tobacco and raising cattle and other farm animals. The existing tobacco barn was built in the early 1960's. The concrete pad used for RV camping was used to store silage for the cows. The non-potable water source is a mountain spring that has been used on the farm since the 1930's. While many tobacco barns in the area have been torn down for their rusted tin roofing and rustic siding, we have worked to restore the barn and preserve its history.

After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. Had a great experience, not far away from West Jefferson or Gratsin Highlands State Park (Virginia). Host was personable and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend staying here. Also has a cabin coming soon on the same property as the camper site. The neighborhood cows were respectful of the morning and didn't start talking until they saw people.

Had a quick 1 night stay, last minute trip. Had a quick response to accept our reservation. Site 4 was perfect, easy to access, power and water on site. Great for our Sylvan GO popup. Roy greeted us on arrival and showed us around. He brought a nice size stack of firewood. He also borrowed us a 30A -> 110 adapter so we could plug an extension cord in. We enjoyed the visit in the morning from the donkey and cows. Beautiful property, great hosts, we'll stop back next year.

My friends and I LOVED this camp site! The land was beautiful and we enjoyed waking up by the lovely creek. Dianne was incredibly helpful and nice. In short, we had a blast. It was so easy to get up and go see Boone, visit Blowing Rock, and find hikes along the blue ridge, etc. We will definitely be back in the summer time. Thank you, Garry & Dianne!!

William’s campground was so lovely. Plenty of room to spread out and explore. The stars, oh my gosh! We loved sitting at the shared lookout point at night and just staring up at the sky. Check out the spa add-on! The sauna was perfect on a chilly Fall day. Would love to come back in the warmer months.

We loved the camping spot. It was beautiful and peaceful. The meet and greet from the host was fantastic. We really loved visiting the old tobacco barn and walking the trails through the woods.

Our campsite was the only one in the open. It was to the left of the house. along the tree line. We had access to well water and were hooked up to 30 amp power.

We loved our stay on Tanner’s land! The South Mitchell River was flowing and we even saw a river otter on our last day. Additionally, there are plenty of places to camp and great places to set up a fire by the river. The area has a road near the camping sites, but the sites themselves were still very private and secluded. We saw very few cars go by and were the only campers there and next time we will just move down a little bit behind the hill. Also, this spot is dog friendly and our lab had a blast! We will definitely be back and would definitely recommend this spot to our friends and family.
