We have three children – Emma Grace and Baxter (twins) and Elena Jo. As a family, we enjoy canoeing, kayaking and camping. We live 9 miles from Tellurian on a family farm. We have always enjoyed quiet secluded campsites, river floats and sitting by the river. After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We dream big and Tellurian remains a work in progress, but we feel we have created a place where folks can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, the river and incredible views. Naming our campground proved to be one of the most challenging tasks throughout the process of developing it. After many ideas and brainstorming sessions as a family, we decided to go with Tellurian. My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

Weekend Trip to Barnhill Mountain in Fletcher, NC

We had the most wonderful weekend at Edwin’s spot. It was absolutely beautiful, incredibly private, and exactly what we were hoping for in a peaceful getaway. We tent camped in February, and even with the colder weather, we were comfortable and cozy. I didn’t expect the shelter on site, but we really appreciated using it for extra storage. The views were stunning, the sunrise was breathtaking, and the campfire kept us warm all afternoon while we cooked and relaxed. There’s something special about spending a slow day by the fire with nowhere else to be. Our dogs had the best time exploring all the open space, too. It truly felt like our own little retreat for the weekend. We were sad to leave when the trip was over, but we’ve already shared this hidden gem with friends and hope many more people get to experience it. We’ll definitely be back!

What a beautiful spot!! Spend a night here just to get away for a night. Got some good R&R time :) Edwin was a great host and very communicative. I will for sure be coming back again soon — with some classmates this time around.

Weekend Trip to Starlight Hills

The sites were well maintained and clean! Site 1 offered good space with great access to the bathroom, showers, etc. while providing privacy at the same time. The location of the grounds offered great views of both the sunrise and sunsets, the common area has the best sunset mountain view while relaxing in the hammock and also offers a great stargazing spot. We had a great time camping here and will be back.

Weekend Trip to Tellurian Family Campground

We really enjoyed Tellurian! We stayed two nights and found the campground to be clean, easy to navigate, and packed full of opportunities to explore the river and take in the mountain views. We look forward to coming back when it isn't so cold outside so we can fully enjoy the river. The bath house was great and the kids enjoyed hanging out in the lounge area when it was too cold to play outside. Can't wait to come back!

Great hosts , great amenities, and great views ! We so enjoyed staying here . The state park is only 20 mins away as well! Jud goes the extra mile to make sure his guests are comfortable and taken care of. We will be back!

Weekend Trip to Barnhill Mountain in Fletcher, NC

Such a lovely spot! I live in the area and needed a spot in the woods to decompress and this was just that! The spot and the view were lovely, I enjoyed having all the storage for gear and firewood, and the privy was such a nice convenience! The space is well kept and the host was easy to communicate with. I will definitely be recommending this spot to my friends and hope to stay again!

We tent camped for New Year’s Eve. It was quiet and secluded with beautiful views from multiple places. He has thought of everything and addresses it with vending from last minute things you forgot to snacks to your firewood! The property was clean and well cared for with multiple options for accommodations. The pond looks like it would be amazing when open and the trail was a nice walk. The sites are large, but be advised that you may need some leveling and may not be able to park by the table/fire ring. This did not take away anything from the experience! The spa is worth the add on, especially if it’s cold! It very well done and private with uninhibited mountain views. There are also showers and porta potties (that were extremely clean!) William was friendly and responsive to questions. He has done a wonderful job with this site and we plan to go again.

2 nights at Waterfall camping close to CLT

This is over of the most beautiful camp sites I've been to so far. Spacious and plenty of room for setting up everything, with a view that's absolutely breathtaking. Fall asleep to the sounds of the waterfall literally tens of feet away. It's like renting out a state park all to yourself. Will absolutely stay again and again at this gem!

Very well appointed site on a creek. Plenty of seasoned firewood in a shed / fire pit and grill for use and David had removed all leaves from the immediate camping area prior to our arrival. Great stay. Easy access. Thanks!

The location was perfect for what I was looking for. Very quiet and secluded. I went on Christmas Day, which was really nice because being winter I could see through all the trees and I had a 360° view of the mountains around us. Several good spots to pitch multiple tents, and just a great spot overall. Highly recommend
