Our yurt experience was great. Remote and quiet, it’s an ideal relaxing weekend!

Loved the stay! The tent is very cozy and smells like fresh wood inside, sleeping to the sounds of the stream was amazing. Lots of fireflies around, so beautiful! Too bad we arrived late and couldn’t make the most of our stay by making a fire, but the fire pit is right there and looks perfect. Communication was great, clear instructions, easy to get there. The only improvement I’d suggest is putting more lights outside (I noticed 2 lightbulbs on the tent but they didn’t work).

Weekend Trip to Outercamp, Blue Ridge Falls Retreat

I can not find the words to fully capture the beauty and magic of this stay at Gnome Yome. We absolutely loved every second of it. While it had everything we could possibly need, we embraced the way nature and the views brought us connection and disconnection from all distractions. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Adin`s river cabin

Host Aiden showed me to the cabin when I arrived and responded to all my questions. The cabin, albeit rustic had a certain charm to it. The deck by the river was the highlight of my stay as I was able to relax with a book and watch my dog Obie swim in the river. The host sent me a message the next morning asking if we were okay, I so appreciated the check in. On my way out, my car got stuck due to my fault, Host Aiden quickly came to my rescue to help me get my car out of the mud, so thankful. I enjoyed the serenity of the area, walking around the property with my dog.

Weekend Trip to TangleWood Creekside Campsites

Awesome campsite and the Safari tent was next level camping. Cooked a great campfire meal and was lucky enough to have a late night rain to sleep to. My kind of camping! Blair put me on a great hike, a cool excursion up the mountain to the orchard and a perfect midday lunch spot.

Weekend Trip to Starlight Hills

We had a great time! Host was accommodating and we arrived a bit early and as the unit was already clean, they allowed us to set up a bit early before kayaking at lake James! The glamping Yurt/ MTG2 was so cute! Comfy bed! There is not regular power source, but solar that operates a fan, lights, and a usb outlet (not standard plug). The social area with hammocks and tables was lovely to overlook the Mountain View! The highlight was definitely the spa purchase! Soaking tub with sauna! The showers had hot water (was outside so bring a robe!) and portajohns for restroom facilities. Water is available at a central location, but not at each individual campsite (one large jug provided next to fire pit). Overall a fabulous glamping experience!

Great peaceful getaway. Easy to find, incredible response time and timeliness from Blair. We were full of questions and he went out of his way to take care of us each time. Safari tent was clean and spacious. Fire ring was great to cook steaks on. Creek was nice for the kids to play. 10/10 recommend.

Weekend Trip to Field Trip Glamping Travelers Rest

While we didn’t get to stay in the dome due to a booking challenge, the host placed us in a super cute A-frame. The grounds were clean and inviting. The over the fire pit rack was perfect for some wood grilled burgers!! The hot tub/sauna/cold plunge was spectacular. There was always a wave to be had by the staff as they drove by. Future glamours should know that the in unit “coffee maker” is a French press, which in a unit with electricity, was a little disappointing, since the trek to get boiling water was at a coffee vending station. Otherwise, it served the purpose well for a beautiful outdoor getaway.

Weekend Trip to Private Yurt with Woodstove & Creek

This is an amazing little yurt and campsite! Everything is very well thought out by farmer sprout and makes for a lovely little getaway. There is lots of misc camping equipment in the shed (so if you forget things like we did, you’re covered)! And the micro greens we added on were super yummy! We had such a pleasant weekend away watching fireflies and listening to the creek. 100/10 recommend!! Thank you farmer sprout!! As an aside, I was a little concerned about the compost toilet at first, but it was super easy to use and so much cleaner than any other campsite toilet I’ve ever used! Definitely don’t let that deter you!

From the public observation area, to the short steep hike to another overlook. From the extremely warm showers and to the absolute wonderfulness of the spa. Clean portajohns and multiple trash cans. This campground offers so much in relaxation. William is very kind and was able to answer any questions quickly, even the dumber ones we had while putting together what was what at our yurt location. We rented MTG 5. In walking the grounds, we would have selected 1, 3,4, 2 and then 5 in that order. 1 gives you the very best view but you are near the common area which can get very populated at sunset. That was actually kind of cool to have the whole village come together to stand in awe. 5 was ok but it was slanted more than any other site so we were unable to play with many things we brought for entertainment. It was a great weekend though. Perfect weather. There are whippoorwills on the property and if you have not experienced them, they can be a challenge as they sing their song with some fervor and consistency. But we went and bought ear plugs which totally did the trick. Google tells me those birds will sing until July. So be prepared if you are a light sleeper. But the yurts were comfortable and sleep was easy The spa is 100% worth renting. You are isolated and while on the platform you experience yet another wonderful view. The cedar smell of the sauna really lifted my spirits. The warmth of the tub. The heater. The shower. Everything was thought about. 10/10 for the spa.

Wow! What a serene and beautiful place!! So many places to hike, the creek was so nice and the safari tent literally had EVERYTHING we needed!! The owners are AMAZING and you can tell they put all of their heart and soul into it. We definitely plan on visiting so much more and telling all of our friends! There isn’t a bad site!!

Weekend Trip to Above the Fray Glamping, Black Mtn.

This is our second trip to the glamping decks and we had another wonderful time. It rained pretty heavily the second night and we were completely comfortable and dry on the deck. We didn’t even close the tarps. Having access to electricity is very convenient. It’s so peaceful and beautiful and is becoming one of our favorite places to go for a quick mountain getaway. Our four year old and dogs also had a great time.

Some roofs are full size, some are two-thirds, and some are one-third, depending on what one wants for tent size or sun exposure. (See pictures of each site/deck) Each deck features sun and rain curtains to help keep you comfortable in normal weather conditions. Dogs enjoy a two-gate system, allowing guests and dogs be leash-free and away from the road. All dog owners know to pick up after their pets. The human Private Porta John is cleaned on a weekly basis. Black Mountain’s tasty restaurants are 4 miles away, and All Trails is an excellent app for finding trails suited for your interests. Private decks on a dead-end gravel road mean hopefully the sounds will only be of nature. The conveniences of electricity, porta john, water, chairs, table, roof, cleaning supplies, rain curtains, and astounding views have my Glampers coming back often. Designed with Dogs in mind with a two-gate system and no need for a leash when on the deck. Obnoxious, barking dogs are not welcome, so bring only controlled and well-socialized dogs. Just so there's no surprises...On your way up to the cabin you will see broken asphalt in an area(you will have to go slow over the bumpy rough area) you will also see some mud piled up on the sides of the road from where we had some gracious volunteers clear a way up to the cabin! Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we navigate through these difficult times! The cabin at wild ridge is OFF GRID (meaning no power or running water) but I promise, with our solar panels and rain collection system you won't miss being ON the grid at all! The cabin and the drive (or hike) up was designed for the adventurous at heart! So, drive on up if you have 4WD or AWD and if you don't, no worries! Just park in the designated space, grab your gear and hike on up! (The hike in is steep... about 300 ft but takes less than 5 minutes) We have a cooler up there for any perishables you may have, just bring ice :) Please note: We have to close the outdoor heated shower during the cold winter months, however we provide an all season 5 gallon solar shower bag to use during this time. We also have a list at the cabin of other places nearby that provide hot showers in the winter months for a small fee. In the rare event that heavy snow is expected, we will have to close the road leading up to the cabin because of its steepness. If this occurs, you will be given a full refund for the cancellation. To heat the cabin, there is a un-vented wall mounted heater that heats the space really well! Since the cabin is insulated, the heater works quick to heat the small area up so you will stay nice and cozy!

The cabin includes a large front porch with rocking chairs where you will enjoy your warm tea or coffee each morning and evening while overlooking the peaceful pond and woods. There is an outdoor fire ring and picnic table where you can enjoy a campfire, cook on the open flame, and have smore's in the evening. Inside the cabin you will find everything to be incredibly beautiful and spaced to create the coziest atmosphere you've ever enjoyed. There is a wood burning stove indoors that when lit, takes the whole experience to the next level! But you don't have to rely on the woodstove for heat, we've installed a brand new wall unit for heat and air! You also have a DVD player and a television with an assortment of DVDs to choose from. The cabin sleeps 4-5 people comfortably. There is a full size bed that sleeps 2 in the main room of the cabin. There is a loft above that sleeps 2-3 more. A rolling library ladder is how the kids will access the loft area! So fun! The kitchen is complete with a refrigerator, electric stove, oven, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. A peaceful mood is set by warm-toned sawmill lumber walls, recessed lighting in the ceiling, a kitchen window above the sink that overlooks the side yard campfire area and beautiful woods surrounding the cozy cabin. The bathroom is so nice with a stand-up shower, hand-made oak vanity, and a door to the "star-gazing" porch. Flood lighting lights up the area around the cabin at night so you might spot a deer, fox, or even a bear traveling through or getting a drink of water from the pond. You will instantly relax at the coziest cabin on earth. You deserve a get-away that actually recharges you! This cabin is for the couple or family that just wants to take a much needed break from the real world. Once you get to the cabin, you can brew something warm to drink, sit in the glider rocker and gaze out at nature, build and enjoy a campfire, hike in the peaceful woods, or just take a much needed nap in the quiet of the coziest cabin on earth.
