We absolutely loved camping in the SylvanSport Go on Beth's land! Beth and Rob are very kind folks who tend to a gorgeous, peaceful piece of land. Brevard and Pisgah National Forest are an easy drive from the property. It's the perfect basecamp for many outdoor adventures. We're so grateful we found Beth's land and will be frequent visitors!!

7 nights at Appalachian Pond Campground

We loved the view if the pond from the front door of our pop up. The hosts were so nice, helpful and brought wood to our camp anytime we asked. The porta potty was clean and dumped weekly, showers were hot and we appreciated the dish cleaning area. We enjoyed meeting other campers but everyone had plenty of privacy at their camps. It was tricky getting our pop up level at rv site 1. The rocks were a bit big to park and walk on. Would have preferred smaller gravel. Other than that, we loved it, would love to return and recommend it to other travelers.

Weekend Trip to Peace Of Pisgah

So awesome!! Vicki is amazing and such a kind soul. We didn’t feel like we were staying on their property, we felt like they were sharing their little part of the world with us. Highly suggest. And if you’re a mountain biker, 5min from Pisgah Proper, 15min from N. Mills, 20min from Dupont. They’re also super bike friendly with onsite bike wash!!!

Easy communication with camp host. 😎 My husband fished the pond (when a kid wasn’t having time of his life cannon balling) and caught a 2 pound Bass. Site 5 is 4 wheel drive to get up to the area and its smaller but more private than other sites. Nice spot overall✨

2 nights at Hidden Acres Mountain Camping

I was blown away by Georgianna's property! The mountains make for a stunning backdrop for adventure but that doesn't always translate to ease. Backroads, spotty service, and a new area you've yet to navigate - can all lead to a frustrated beginning of a trip. Not the case at Woods & Water! From the online directions and guidance, we were able to find the property with ease and then once you've turned off the main road it was immediately evident that this was not your everyday property. From clearly marked signage, easy to navigate routes to each camp site, and a finesse that truly sets this place apart. Georgianna has worked hard to provide a space that respects the beauty of its surroundings but elevates the experience for guests. The hard work is evident with ample clear space for each site that allows options for set up and layout to your comfort. Lighting that is placed strategically to aide in navigating the area after dark but not too bright to compete with the stunning display of fireflies and stars! So much care and thoughtfulness has been put into this property to afford guests the most incredible laid-back experience!

Such a beautiful place! The site was perfect for our 3 kids and pup. There was plenty to keep the kids entertained (from playing in the creek to watching the ducks and just exploring the property) - we all had a great time! Set up was easy, they provided a wheel barrel to help with unloading the car and even had chairs already at the fire pit.

6 nights at Broken Oak Riverside Getaway

This hipcamp experience was everything we could ask for! It was right on the river on the most beautifulest farm. The river was perfect, serene, cool, and refreshing. It's perfect for all ages to play in because there's some shallow spots for kids, sand beach, and a small pool to swim around it. The river was also very clear and created a beautiful sound especially with the birds and crickets chirping. The tent area is clean and in close proximity to the shower/bathhouse. The bathhouse was also very nice. The host, Craig, was very nice and communicated effectively. There's even plants & eggs for sale as well We will 100% be coming back

2 nights at Starlight Hills

We stayed at MTG 1 for 2 nights with our 2 grandsons and 2 dogs. Starlight Hills is a great spot for camping...we loved the view and the hammocks especially (MTG 1 is next to the common area with grills and hammocks). It was a bit hot (expected), so bring battery fans! (and bug repellent). Water station was great (although a walk down/up hill from our site). Port-a-Potty not far. Showers were excellent! Overall, a wonderful experience. One suggestion is to add a few more grills (2 may not be enough for those full weekends). Yurt was clean and thoughtfully arranged, although a bit tight with our crew. William was very responsive to questions and made sure to greet us with our add-ons we purchased. Memories were made....thank you!!

this is a great spot right near the creek wonderful host and neighbors. My dog and I loved our stay here and will probably come back again. Next time I would probably book a site number six rather than four because it’s a little more level and has a bit more room but overall, it was a wonderful experience and I absolutely loved it.

The dome is so lovley, it felt so magical and i was able to get some cell service during my stay. Such a huge surprised there was some games there. The shower were cold but really spacious. Def will be going back

The campground was secluded and quiet. We were passing through on a Wednesday night and just so happened to have the entire place to ourselves. The bathrooms were very clean. Beautiful views and the sunset was breathtaking.

3 nights at At the Ridge Camp-Riverside Escapes

What a sweet relaxing spot! Right outside our RV was a beautiful stream - I believe an offshoot of the French Broad River? Our pup went swimming several times a day as we sat on perfect large rocks sipping wine and throwing him sticks into the water! Plenty of shade with all the beautiful trees. We’ll be back in the fall to see the changing colors. There are several short term campers here that are super nice and helpful! The people are great and the camping was even better! Thank you to Tom - what a beautiful place you have! And thank you to Travis and Carol for being wonderful neighbors!

This was a nice spot to set up camp close to Brevard an lots of waterfalls/hikes. There's a nice community area with water, outhouse, charging station, shower, and a few dishes/cooking utensils for us to use. It is close to a busy road so there was quite a lot of road noise at night.

We love Smoky Mountain Mangalista! It's beautiful, relaxing, and just what we wanted. The views and experience are amazing, it's in a great location to access all the things we wanted to do, and Catherine and Rick are great! We want to recommend it to everyone...but then again, we want to keep it our little secret so no one finds out! This makes two years in a row for us, and we hope to return again.

Great spot! Very secluded but still reasonably close to all Asheville sites! Beautiful views of the night sky. The outdoor kitchen area is amazing and I couldn’t recommend more highly! Hosts are nice very responsive! Would absolutely stay again!

Supplies can be found at the state park camp store or in town at Redi-Mart or Dollar General. Water and showers are down by barn. A Gator is available for the duration of your stay. Please arrive before sundown so we can meet you the first time you stay to show you the way and make sure you are comfortable driving Gator. We will have you follow us up to the campsite and from there you can come and go and just leave the Gator by your car near the barn when you are out and about and when checking out. A small Bluetti power charging station will be available in the tent (for light charging of cell phones, other) which can be recharged by the barn if used heavily. A Coleman stove with a small propane tank, pots, a frying pan and utensils is also included in the site. Another small propane tank is provided for the radiator in the tent.

The Confluence

This serene campsite borders native trout water and an an additional 45 private acres that have been passed down in the Brittain family since the 1790s. The upper meadow provides canoe, kayak and fishing access to South Mills River as well as shaded private mountain trails. This very private campground is a five minute drive from Pisgah National Forest and 10 minutes from the Asheville Airport and the Sierra Nevada Brewing company. Four-wheel-drive is recommended for rainy weather.

Quiet Troublesome Gap

My parents bought the 120 acre property in the 1960s. I started clearing and building the campsite in 2019. Watch the sun rise on one side of Troublesome Gap and watch it set on the other side. There is a circle drive for 2 teardrop / squaredrop or pop up campers and plenty of spots to pitch tents. There are also great spots to hang your hammock. Camp where my family camps. My parents bought the property in the 1960s and we have camped up here, hiked, hunted, and cut firewood many weekends. We decided to share the property so you can enjoy camping up here too! The property is in a remote location where you can enjoy the wildlife and the cooler temps in the summer. You'll have 3 acres all to yourself. You wont have to share the spot with anyone else unless you bring them. The closest grocery store is an hour away but the Trust General Store with a restaurant and gas approximately is 7 miles away. There is also a burger joint (Dave's 209) on the way to the Trust General Store. This camping site is in a remote area and the nearest neighbor about 1/2 mile away. Max Patch is about 25 minutes away and features beautiful hiking. The quaint town of Marshall is about 30 minutes away. Asheville is about an hour away. The campsite is easily accessible from Baltimore Branch Road. However Baltimore Brand Road (public road) is steep in places and we don't recommend an RV bigger than a popup camper. If you are pulling a trailer you'll really want to consider having 4wd. If you aren't used to driving on steep dirt mountain roads, you may want to bring your 4wd vehicle. If you have a 2wd vehicle, then you'll want to come to the site via Big Pine Road. This route will take you through Walnut, NC We also provide a porta-a-john for your convenience. Once the reservation is made, I'll send out an info sheet with important info like the gate combination. Please let me know if you haven't received the info sheet within a week of making the reservation. The inclusion policy below is from HipCamp corporate. Our policy is much simpler. Be respectful to others and the property and have a good time. This is a campsite where have the whole 3.5 acre property to yourself. You are surrounded by properties that vary from 40 acres to over a hundred acres. You are with the people in your campsite and pretty much no one else. We just want you to have a great time and bring home great stories. It seems like every visitor to Troublesome Gap has a great story. Come camp with us and build your own story. Important Note: Water is only available on the site from May through September. If you camp on the site Oct through April, you'll need to bring your own water. There is a camera on the property. My wife and I moved to the area, from Boone, in the spring of 2014. Our dream was to own a house, preferably a cabin, on top of a mountain with long range views and a gradual winding road to the top. Living in Boone, this dream was definitely out of reach. When we began our search for a new home in the Asheville area, we discovered that the more affordable homes were in fact on the mountains. Perfect! In general I always have a pretty positive outlook on what’s possible, however, I was skeptical that we would ever find our dream home. As Jeannie began her Zillow browsing adventures, one particular cabin with acreage, that was outside of our budget continued to pop up. Jeannie would delete it and then it would come back. At some point the price began to drop, and drop, and drop. On our way back into town one weekend after attending a wedding, I convinced Jeannie to drive by the cabin just because we had the time. Immediately we fell in love and reached out to our realtor buddy. It was more of a shot in the dark but it couldn’t hurt, right? We held our breath for the next month totally expecting someone to get it under contract before us or the sellers not accepting our offer. It had already been reduced significantly so we knew our chances of a lowball offer were slim. We offered the most that we could get a loan for. They accepted! I still get anxious thinking back to that month, October 2014. Many years and two children later, here we are, just as excited everyday to make the long trek up our mountain as we were that August of 2014, and now we are happy to offer a similar experience to you, without having to buy the place. What you will not find is light pollution, traffic, and a desire to leave the mountain. Fall asleep to the calls of the hoot owl and wake up to the knocking of the wood pecker. If & when you decide to explore the area, be sure to checkout Hickory Nut Gap farm just 7.9 miles away & Whistle Hop Brewery 7.7 miles away. Turgua brewery just down on Cane Creek road is only 6.2 miles from camp. Cane Creek Valley Farm as well as the Cane Creek Community swimming pool is also at the base of camp just in case the kids need a dip of ice cream or a dip in the pool. Justus Apple Orchard is only 10 miles down the mountain towards Hendersonville. We love taking our kids there. We are only 15 miles from downtown Asheville & Hendersonville, and 22 miles from Lake Lure. A rocky creek winds through the woods at the base of several hikable peaks hidden just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Wildlife enthusiasts are encouraged to explore, on foot or mountain-bike, anywhere within our 170 acres (or the adjoining 250 acres owned by the US Forestry Service off our Western border) and are likely to catch glimpses of turkey, beaver, deer, fox, eastern box turtle and the many species of songbird and raptor. The location is convenient to tons of local attractions for sightseeing and outdoor activities as well as shopping, dining, even wine tasting. We would be happy to supply a comprehensive list of the various local attractions upon request but the following are a few of our favorite things to do within a short drive: visit Linville Falls, Caverns, Gorge and/or Winery; drive the Blue Ridge parkway; tube/kayak down the Catawba river; hike beautiful Crabtree Falls; cross Grandfather Mountains mile high bridge and explore the nearby towns of Spruce Pines or Little Switzerland. My property consists of a ridge running east to west with the access road running along the south border. the land slopes up to the ridge for about 300 feet, and then down to the river for about 800 feet. The south side of the ridge has a small pond close to the road. The rest is pasture, and an orchard and small vineyard. The north side of the ridge is old growth timber, and shady and cool. The two cabins are along the river. One is perched on a ridge over looking the river and the other is right on the river. The swimming hole is 30 feet from the lower cabin. There is room for a couple campsites along the river also. The south side of the ridge was a cotton farm decades ago, but was covered in timber when I bought it 12 years ago. The north side has been in timber for the known history of the property.

Situated 20 minutes from Asheville and 2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, we are close to civilization and far from the everyday hustle and bustle. This is a great place to unwind in nature. We will soon be adding Forest Bathing. The frogs eat most of the mosquitos and the fireflies will provide the nightly entertainment from May till August.
