1 night at Worthams Ferry

This was everything and more than we thought it would be. An easy access with drive through site was a perfect for our long skoolie; there is enough parking space for few more buses like our. The campsite felt private and spacious. We kept our Skoolie near the camp fire in upper part of the property near the quiet private road, and went tent camping with my wife and dog for one night near the river. We are boondockers loving the nature and privacy. This location was perfect for our needs. We will come back again for sure.

Great spot to chill and not fight the beach crowd. Easy to access. Level ground. Creek to jump in. Plenty of sun for the solar panels (if you want it). Get a tie die shirt from Donny, he’s awesome!

2 nights at Canter Lakes Farm

We had a blast camping at this site! There was so much room for my kids to explore and play without having to worry about them. This campsite is private, and offers great basic camping amenities ( chairs, bathhouse, camping lights). The host was incredibly flexible and welcoming from the start! We will definitely be back to visit again.

This was the perfect place for my brother and I to do some camping away from civilization. Even though there were other campers there, we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a shower and running water which doesnt happen often at these sites, so that was a big plus. The horses were fun to watch, and although i did not spring for the chance to interact with them, i would definately recommend it to anyone who is interested. There were multiple ponds to fish from and even a creek right next to our site that was swarming with fish. The peace and tranquility I felt here was exactly why I booked this trip. We were close enough to town that we could get supplies when we needed them (Wal-Mart was about 10-15 minutes away.) All in all I would give Scott and Julie 2 thumbs up! 👍👍 I will be returning here in the future.

I loved camping here! I came for a getaway for three nights and it was a blast! I had no car and was able to stay entertained with things to do! The battleground across the street was fun to walk through and learn the history of! I strongly recommend staying here!

Weekend Trip to The Secret Sanctuary Farm

James & Sola were great hosts. They showed us around the property upon arrival and gave us options for our one night stay. They were very accommodating. My son got to help feed the animals their dinner and really enjoyed himself. We did camp near the chicken coop, so it was no surprise when the roosters began to crow in the morning.

I was quite skeptical using this app for the first time. This camp site was the first we tried out! We had absolutely NO issues with anything. It was very secluded and we even added shower bags and wood to our reservation. It was SO worth the extra $5 a piece! We weren’t at the site much due to exploring the shops and beaches. We did see Connie only one time and she was extremely nice when we did. I liked that she actually checks on the campground, seeing if anyone needed anything. They even have a toy box full of badminton kits and other toys to play with friends. I would most definitely recommend coming to this site if you’re going to the Ocean Isle area!

Weekend Trip to Canter Lakes Farm

Our family loved camping on Julie and Scott’s land! We swam and waded, paddled around on the paddle board and kayak and watched beautiful sunsets. Scott and Julie were responsive, communicative and friendly. She hosted a yoga class Saturday morning, and although I wasn’t able to attend this time, I will plan to do so on a future trip. The bathhouse was so appreciated, nothing like a nice shower after a sandy day of play. There was a barrel table and two Adirondack chairs, a lounge chair and a hammock stand at the site, all of which we used in what we think was our best set up in our personal camping history :) All in all a great weekend getaway and highly recommended. Also, take heed of Julie’s advice and bring your close toed shoes if you’re not into sandy feet. We kept a bucket of water nearby the tent so we could rinse them off when getting in.

7 nights at Charlotte's Whispering Pine Farm

The camp hosts are both great people and they take very good care of the grounds. Lots of great accent lighting for magical evenings around the fire, not to mention free firewood! The lane going back to the campgrounds is well maintained and takes you past several historic Volkswagen cars and vans as well as some farm animals that are adorable. I highly recommend if your looking for somewhere to stay in this area!

This was a last minute find for an anniversary get away for my husband and I. The spot pretty much found me online after searching.l for days for an opening near ocean isle. Ocean isle, calabash and sunset beach is only minutes away from the sites. Connie has a beautiful piece of land! We stayed at site 3 , the sites are spaced out enough to where you have your own private area, but also visible to other sites. We actually were able to have the whole campground to ourselves. Each site has a picnic table with an umbrella and fire pit ready to use. Connie has lots of goodies in a box for kids and family activities if you come with a family. We def plan to bring the family back here! Nice hiking trail as well. Connie also offers a shower in a bag, ports toilet and other needed items if you must have for very cheap prices. Nothing to complain about at all! The weather was rainy for us but we cannot control Mother Nature and it was still so much fun!

We are a private horse farm with beautiful swimming lakes and river access on site via “Sand Hill Creek” At canter lakes farm you can explore over 10 acres of water without ever leaving our property, and hike almost 3 miles of manicured trails here! If you’re an early riser you can witness the magnificent steam rolling in over the lakes, creek and cypress swamp while you sip your coffee at sunrise. Bring your paddle boards and cruise, or warm up with sunny yoga on your private dock. Kayak or John boats can explore the river bends from our property, or even make it out to the big wide cape fear. We are very close to two public boat ramps suitable for larger boats and jet skis. Holly Shelter boat ramp is literally 2 minutes away, Shelter Creek boat ramp is 10 minutes away. Both ramps have a fishing area and allow kayaks/paddle boards. Fishing is good on our ponds and the river year round, (bass, catfish, crappie, bowfin, gar, etc) in June hundreds of wild blueberry plants you can pick and eat. We also have prickly pear cacti for harvesting which you can cook the fruit and paddles over the fire and enjoy. If our trails aren’t enough and you want more adventure, just two miles away is the Holly Shelter game lands entrance where you’ll find thousands of acres for hunting, biking, hiking or horseback riding. And if you’re craving a beach day, Wrightsville beach is just a 30 minute drive away as well as is downtown Wilmington where you can enjoy walking the riverfront for shopping or dining. Stargazing galore! Surrounding the property is privately owned country land- this is a phenomenal place to be amazed by the stars. Photography lovers will be in heaven from the sunrises and sunsets golden hour is magical here! And with the diverse landscape there’s always something to capture. Tent camping or dry rv camping only at this time. Hot Shower, sink and full size toilet are provided in the bath house.
