According to a few sources we've consulted, the Mohican people (Eastern Algonquian family of tribes - not to be confused with the Mohawk, a distinctly different tribe) were the indigenous occupants of the land where our farm is now located. Historians note that the name Mohican is from the indigenous word meaning "water that flows in two directions." Most Mohicans were driven into western NY and Canada when the Revolutionary War broke out.
Local history indicates that the first white occupants to build here were the Hawley Family, in 1790. Parts of the farmhouse date to this era. Outbuildings were added through the decades and centuries, and the land was used as a dairy farm, among other ventures, by previous owners.
We purchased the property in 2021 in hopes of providing more space, nature and outdoor living for our two little ones. We have two fields dedicated to Christmas trees, as well as apple, pear and cherry trees, and we've had successful garlic harvests to share with neighbors, family, friends, and at local farmers' markets. Private driveway in the woods leads up a hill to three fabulous, secluded, country-setting camping locations with incredible views. Hay fields in front of you with woods behind you, you'll have peace and quiet in total seclusion but are only 5 minutes from downtown historic Greenwich village with diners and shops and a CVS. (The “Stewarts” gas station and market has firewood bundles!)
Camping locations have no amenities but are cleared with mowed grass and have fire-pits. Pitch tent or bring RV, you'll enjoy yourself and the wildlife around you. Site 1 and 2 are adjacent to woods, site 3 is a wide-open-field site (great RV site) with the best panoramic and sunset view. Jeff and Milton have a lovely property in a beautiful part of upstate NY. We chose it as it was a short distance from the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) for a show we planned to attend. We enjoyed riding bikes along the country roads and the pups had a great time playing in the lush grass. The 30 amp hookup worked perfecty and the well water was clean and clear. We also had a fun evening by the fire on our last night and highly recommend this spot for a unique private getaway in a gorgeous setting with wonderful and helpful hosts.

We had an incredible camping weekend in Kelly’s land. We were situated on site 3, which was incredibly private and had a lovely picnic bench and a fire ring. The amenities were top-notch, with extremely clean bathrooms and showers. The campground’s standout feature was the Grab as you burn service. We had the pleasure of meeting Kelly and Rick during check-in, who were incredibly friendly and welcoming hosts.

This is an excellent HipCamp. Located in a beautiful setting surrounded by farmland. It is a quiet and well maintained property. The host (Jeffrey) was very responsive and even has a nice YouTube video with instructions on how to set up if for some reason he is not available. It is nice to not have any guess work or anxiety about ensuring you are honoring the host’s wishes. I highly recommend this HipCamp.

Our time was absolutely perfect!! We stayed at site 17 . It had more than enough room for our 32 foot travel trailer and two cars . The bathhouse is very nice. Water pressure is very good and didn’t have any issues with getting hot water . The two little short hikes on the lookouts were definitely a plus . Also my son was able to ride his bike without having to worry about to much traffic in and out. We will definitely be rebooking this campground when we are back up in Fort Ann.

This was a fantastic campground! The sites were larger than most campgrounds. The grounds are beautifully maintained and include flower gardens, something you don't often find with campgrounds. The facilities were recently redone, it looks like and very clean. They have an overlook that is an easy walk and worth taking in for sure.

Wonderful grounds, grass everywhere. The showers in bath house are very nice. We had a very short overnight stay - just a stopover on a longer road trip. But it couldn’t have been easier to reserve, drop in late evening and set up (with the 30amp we needed), and get out in the morning. Next time we’ll explore to area more.

I loved camping on Kelly's land! It was quiet, beautiful, the flowers, the trails to overlooks were amazing. They truly care about our comforts and making sure the land was taken care of. Our campsite was perfectly level that we didnt need to put out any boards or levelers to level our camper which is a rarity. We took advantage of the trails and went for hikes daily on this beautiful land and the view was spectacular. The bath house was clean, and beautiful. The shower area was clean, beautiful with the tile walls up all the way up the wall. The playrground was also very well kept for our friends children to use as well.
