The cabin is located in a remote area of Bear Swamp State Forest. It is about 5 miles from the nearest paved road but has seasonal roads that take you to the cabin. There are many close attractions like Skaneateles Lake and Carpenters Falls. The Cabin doesn’t have electricity or water but we do have a generator available. We do not have a shower or bathroom but we have an outhouse. We do ask people to bring their own gas if you want to run the generator and woods to make a fire. I highly recommend 4x4 vehicles but I been there in a civic and a mini van.

It is remote enough to completely break from urban life, yet close enough to Ithaca, NY to enjoy its beauty and attractions. Amenities: outhouse, hand water pump, two-seater outhouse, propane grill, some pots and pans, grill utensils, wood stoves, private, gated entrance, pond, trails. It is a quiet, rural, farming area. Once at the cabin there are only two to three houses within a half mile (through the woods), so you will have a private space all your own. Winter camping is special - cozy wood heated cabin, hundreds of acres for snow shoeing, cross country skiing, or snowmobiling. Plan ahead, we do not plow the driveway in winter; plan to shovel an off-road parking space, and transport your gear up to the cabin (1100'). Wood is provided. Onsite: water pump, 2-seat outhouse, wood stove, campfire ring, wood, & propane grill. Exclusive access for nature hikes, streams, forest, pond, swimming, bird watching, star gazing, etc. A wheelchair that can navigate grass and some ruts can enter the cabin, but not the outhouse, and the sleeping loft is up stairs (there is room for a cot or mattress on the first floor); the porch is accessible through the cabin. When you book, you are confirming your understanding of the following: there is no electricity, running water, or std. bed/mattresses. You bring own air mattress, bedding, and gear you will need. All-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. We welcome special events, family reunions, or weddings, if your plans do not require utilities (you may bring a generator or other battery operated items, as needed). Note for winter guests: We do not plow the driveway in winter, you need to be ready to shovel an off-road parking spot, and transport gear to cabin (e.g. by sled, snowshoes) Here's a brief list of the basics to bring: Light source: Lantern propane or battery. Air mattress or cot and whatever bedding you need. Paper products (cups, plates, utensils, toilet paper, etc.) Matches/fire starter (there is wood on-site, and a propane grill for cooking that has a self-starter). Bug spray. Cooler and ice. Lawn chairs.  There are a few tables, several chairs and benches. There are 2 picnic tables (one outside and one inside). The benches can be moved outside if you'd like, just move them back inside before you leave. The propane grill should only be used outside. There is a hand axe in the cabin to shave kindling, and the wood is already split to be the length for the wood stove, as needed. Gas: 5 miles away. If you plan to grocery shop when you get to the area, the closest store is at East Hill Plaza in Ithaca, about 9 miles past where the cabin is (I can give you all that info if you like). There is lots to explore/see/do in the Ithaca area if you decide to come down off the hill one of the days. I'll have some brochures and things in the cabin, and can answer questions (aka where is the best ice cream, dinner, etc.).

This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. Bring sleeping bags and pads or you have an air mattress you can blow up inside the yurt that is fun. in the photo s you will also see a dry lean-to with a double bed platform inside to put your sleeping bags or air mattress or to put supplies off the ground to keep dry. Also lots of room for tents. The campfire has a grill to cook over a wood fire, 2 benches & Adirondack chairs, a hammock and a picnic table. There’s also a fun homemade swing & seesaw. There are many marked walking trails around our land to enjoy. There is access to well water. Dry cut Firewood is available for $7 a bundle at the property or you can add extras with booking for $7.70 per bundle.  Portable toilet outside & outdoor hot water shower. It is very quiet here. We are close to Treman, Buttermilk And Taughannock State Parks which all have swimming. Watkins Glen State Park and racetrack is half an hour away. 150 breathtakingly magnificent waterfalls in this area. Great hiking. We are 14 miles from Cornell University and 10 miles from Ithaca College. We are between two finger lakes, Cayuga and Seneca, there are 60 wineries and breweries around the lakes. Woman’s Rights National Museum in Seneca Falls, Corning Museum of Glass is fabulous. Ithaca has theatres, many museums & lots for kids to do. Learn more about this land: A wonderful rustic, private, off-grid get-away, perfect for couples, families, and pups who enjoy camping (log cabin with wood furniture available, you may pitch your tent anywhere on the property - leave no trace).  You may see some wildlife throughout the property (including a milk snake that lives in the cabin wall, but is harmless). It is a quiet, rural, farming area. Once at the cabin there are only two to three houses within a half mile (through the woods), so you will have a private space all your own. Winter camping is special - cozy wood heated cabin, hundreds of acres for snow shoeing, cross country skiing, or snowmobiling. Plan ahead, we do not plow the driveway in winter; plan to shovel an off-road parking space, and transport your gear up to the cabin (1100'). Wood is provided. Onsite: water pump, 2-seat outhouse, wood stove, campfire ring, wood, & propane grill. Exclusive access for nature hikes, streams, forest, pond, swimming, bird watching, star gazing, etc. A wheelchair that can navigate grass and some ruts can enter the cabin, but not the outhouse, and the sleeping loft is up stairs (there is room for a cot or mattress on the first floor); the porch is accessible through the cabin. When you book, you are confirming your understanding of the following: there is no electricity, running water, or std. bed/mattresses. You bring own air mattress, bedding, and gear you will need. All-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. We welcome special events, family reunions, or weddings, if your plans do not require utilities (you may bring a generator or other battery operated items, as needed). Note for winter guests: We do not plow the driveway in winter, you need to be ready to shovel an off-road parking spot, and transport gear to cabin (e.g. by sled, snowshoes) Here's a brief list of the basics to bring: Light source: Lantern propane or battery. Air mattress or cot and whatever bedding you need. Paper products (cups, plates, utensils, toilet paper, etc.) Matches/fire starter (there is wood on-site, and a propane grill for cooking that has a self-starter). Bug spray. Cooler and ice. Lawn chairs.  There are a few tables, several chairs and benches. There are 2 picnic tables (one outside and one inside). The benches can be moved outside if you'd like, just move them back inside before you leave. The propane grill should only be used outside. There is a hand axe in the cabin to shave kindling, and the wood is already split to be the length for the wood stove, as needed. Gas: 5 miles away. If you plan to grocery shop when you get to the area, the closest store is at East Hill Plaza in Ithaca, about 9 miles past where the cabin is (I can give you all that info if you like). There is lots to explore/see/do in the Ithaca area if you decide to come down off the hill one of the days. I'll have some brochures and things in the cabin, and can answer questions (aka where is the best ice cream, dinner, etc.).

This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. If you are staying longer than two nights, or if you expect for any reason to use more water than provided, we ask that you bring the additional water with you, keeping in mind it is a short (4-minute) hike from parking to the Yurt. In some cases with enough notice we may be able to provide additional water for your stay for an additional charge.KitchenetteWe provide a Berkey full of filtered water, an electric kettle, a mini fridge and freezer, a microwave for use during your stay. We provide a gas Cuisinart Grill for use on the deck. If you plan to use the grill, please do a $10 mini-propane add-on so we can make sure there is fresh propane provided. We also provide cups, wine glasses, a French Press for coffee making, and compostable plates and bowls. Please do not put the plastic plates and mugs in the microwave.Please throw any compostable food into the compost bin or compost bag provided in the kitchenette and empty it into our large outdoor compost bin at the end of each day. Every time you use the outdoor compost, please cover what you have disposed of with either leaves or the hay provided in the center bin. Please never leave any food in the Yurt for more than one day that isn’t sealed in an airtight container.Please do not put meat or dairy products in the compost. If you bring meat or dairy products into the Yurt, we ask that you take any meat or diary trash out with you and dispose of it elsewhere. We have provided trash bags for this purpose. Please keep any meat and dairy products and trash in airtight sealed containers in the Yurt until you are able to dispose of them. ShowerIf you add-on the Shower Setup ($30) we will fill it with water, and provide 2 towels and biodegradable soap. This is an outdoors camping shower enclosed by shower curtains with a dirt floor; it is very rudimentary, but if you add warm water from the kettle it will be nice and warm. Please do not use any of your own products like soap, shampoo, or conditioner in the shower because it will be bad for the forest floor. Trash—-Please dispose of regular trash and recycling in our regular trash cans across from where you park. Walton automatically sorts recycling from trash so both can go in the same bins (we separate our recycling in a different bag just so the trash doesn’t contaminate it, but put it in the same bin as the trash.)  —-Compost (fruit + veggie scraps, tea + coffee grounds, toilet bag) gets taken to outdoor compost bin on path to parking and covered with hay or leaves—-Meat + dairy stays sealed in an airtight container when in the Yurt and taken with you when you leaveRules1) Please remove shoes as soon as you enter the Yurt2) Please scoop sawdust anytime you use the toilet, and please take the toilet sawdust out to the compost bin once it is 2/3 of the way full or when you leave, whichever comes first. (If you are only staying 1-2 nights and prefer not to do this, that is fine, just please let us know you didn’t get a chance to bring out the toilet compost and our cleaner will take care of it.)3) Please turn off all electricity, including all lights and heaters every time you leave the Yurt, especially when you end your trip.4) Please never leave any food in the Yurt for more than one day that isn’t sealed in an airtight container. I spent the weekend at Round Top Retreat alone to unplug, relax, and recharge and it was exactly what I needed. The wood burning stoves did an excellent job at heating the cabin. It got below 40° at night but it was probably 60° inside with the fire going. The stove is also great for cooking. It was a little rainy during my trip so I did all my cooking indoors. The driveway continues uphill past the cabin and turns into a hiking trail. I think it's supposed to connect to the Robinsons Hollow State Forest Trail but I couldn't find it (the official trial head is just down the road). It was still an invigorating 2 mile walk. I spotted lots of birds and a couple deer.

Our experience at The Christmas Tree Farm Hidden Delight was absolutely wonderful. Mary was a fantastic host. She was friendly and thorough in her communication, even recommending places to enjoy in the area. We arrived later in the day and were thrilled that she had started a fire in the woodstove inside the tent and had also started a campfire for us. So very thoughtful and a fabulous surprise. The site itself is incredibly private with amazing views. The firewood she provided was dry and plentiful, a bonus since it was a bit chilly for much of our visit. It was great to be able to have the dogs off leash too. We enjoyed our time immensely and highly recommend the site. Thank you, Mary!

Great stay no one bothered us the site was clean and prepped for us when we arrived and there was extra toilet supplies in the pop up potty tent. There is another tent site maybe 50 ft away. It poured the second night and everything stayed dry within the tent. We didn’t get any super amazing views from the lick brook falls trail and the lake Treman loop but it’s been very dry so the falls/lake were very low

Camping at the cider orchard was a relaxing experience. The bed and raised platform canvas tent offered some comforts of home, but otherwise the site was a typical campsite with a fire pit, picnic table, and chemical toilet. You can see the other site from here if you’re curious. The price was a bit more than other hip camp sites we’ve stayed at for the amenities offered, but the location is convenient near Ithaca which made it worth the price for the weekend. The light that shines through the canvas tent was quite nice, diffused by the white cloth, pretty views of the field from the front door, and it felt safe at night. The nature preserve is literally steps from the site with beautiful trails, which adds to the value of the site, and there were a few finger lakes trail hikers passing by.

Heather’s glamping Yurt was perfect! The privacy was beyond amazing and the property was absolutely beautiful!! Heather was very responsive and available for any questions or needs that came up, although the site was so thoughtfully set up, we didn’t even find a need to ask for anything!! We loved discovering the rock wall behind our site and the sunset from that space was really neat. We utilised the farm store on the property for our morning eggs, they were fantastic!! Nothing like farm fresh eggs to start the day off right. We didn't get any milk or meat that was also available there but it was nice to know if we had wanted some, we wouldn’t have to go far to get it! The private heated shower and the flushable toilet will persuade any non-camping enthusiast to come out and discover how wonderful this experience is!! Fire wood is readily available just a hop, skip down from Site 2, where we stayed. Only one lil hop from site 1! I would highly recommend this Yurt camping experience to anyone!!!!!!!

Welcome to Hemlock Hollow! Located just 2 miles north of the historic village of Watkins Glen. It is also at the very start of the Finger Lakes Wine trail on the West side of stunning Seneca Lake! We have two cozy cabins available. Each one room cabin can accommodate up to four guests. Inside you will find a set of bunk beds, a fold out futon, a dresser and a corner table. Linens for the beds and towels are also provided. We rent the cabins separately or together as a package. Each large cabin site is equipped with a fire ring for hot dog roasting and s'more making! Fire wood is available for purchase. There is also a propane camp stove at each cabin and a percolator coffee pot. An 8 foot picnic table and two out door chairs with a small table on the porch are also included, perfect for that morning cup of coffee or afternoon glass of wine. We also supply a few frying pans and utensils for communal use. The property itself is very quiet and secluded with a creek that runs through. There is NO ELECTRICITY in the cabins or Bath House, but some solar lighting through out the cabins and Bath House.
