With cobblestone mill ruins, a 200 year old cemetery at the property entrance and a large dam at the top of some of New York's most beautiful waterfalls, this is the former site of one of the Georgia Pacific's many logging mills dating back to the early 1800's and a part of Adirondack history. Surrounded by bedrock, huge boulders, massive pine trees and miles and miles of trails, the Fowlerville Falls offer days of exploration and/or relaxation. There is a large swimming hole at the top of the falls, just off of the South-facing bedrock bank, where you can swim or lay in the sun. The falls, themselves, are almost 500 ft. across (at the widest point) and approximately 150 ft. in length (from top to bottom), ascending at approximately a 40-45 degree angle, making them navigable by foot. In the drier months (and, of course, depending on rain fall), most of the falls are dry, with only 50 - 100 ft. of water flow, making them navigable by foot. There are many little pools and flowing water across the bedrock to explore, along with the rest of the river, the surrounding woods and adjacent miles and miles of atv/hiking trails. If you are kayaker, there river above the falls is calm and fairly shallow, ranging from .5 - several feet in depth. And if you are white water enthusiast, Fowlerville Falls (and the Moose River) is a nationally rated and renowned spot, boasting a class III-IV under normal release conditions, and a dangerous, cold class V under spring runoff conditions. I highly recommend visiting Lisa and Ed, genuinely good people who take great care to ensure that you'll be comfortable and have what you need to optimize your stay. They are extremely knowledgeable about pretty much anything to do with farm living, and the horses receive amazing care.Lisa and Ed can't hide how much they love them. As far as which site to pick I walked the entire grounds and whichever site you choose is a winner, comes down to personal preference. There's no place else that can match this experience. Lisa and Ed are very responsive and have suggestions on local things to do .The reviews, all positive are a bit like pictures, they can't tell the whole story. Get here yourself and enjoy this peaceful, serene beautiful place and have this unique experience, you'll be glad you did. Don't forget all of the other things you can do to add to your experience that Lisa lists. This would be an unforgettable experience for a family with young kids. Bring a camera! Aside from the residents, the fields are visited by deer, and there are foxes, birds. There's a cabin, 2 trundle beds,folding room divider, windows all around, small sitting area with an awning in back looking into the forest .Lisa and Ed are kind, considerate and caring hosts. * Ask about buying some amazing Maple Syrup made using Ed's grandfather's recipe. You can't buy anything like it anywhere else! Thank you Lisa and Ed for your kindness and hospitality. Enjoyed my stay, hope to be back. Peace.

Great stay on a really cool piece of property. My boyfriend and I stayed a short night and we wished we stayed longer - next time! Ben is awesome and showed us around his place, such a cool spot, and close to so many beautiful nature spots as well. We're putting it on our bucket list to come back again and stay longer! Thanks so much Ben for your hospitality and kindness!

Down the ridge from the cabin is another set up ready for guests to use. Including a picnic table, chairs and fire pit. With even better views of the valley below.

We had the most beautiful, peaceful stay on Amy’s land. The views were absolutely breathtaking—sunset by the fire pit felt like a dream. Incredible place to stay! Wide open dark skies with lots of stars. The site is a great, clean, and safe place to stay. There is a clean Porta Potty and fire pit on site as well. Host is very responsive to texts. No fire wood on site, so make sure you pick some up on the way. We got ours from the gas station down the street.

Jennifer was such a phenomenal host and went above and beyond a million times over. She brought all of our bags from our car to our campsite via tractor, picked us up from a nearby concert late one night during our stay, and even gave us a tour of her farm (including the endless pockets of animals living comfortably in her garage). At every step of our trip, she was caring, considerate, and proactive about letting us know what we needed to be aware of. I have never had a stay (at a hipcamp, at an Airbnb, even at a hotel) where I felt like the person hosting me cared this much about our experience, and played such an active role in making sure our visit went off without a hitch. Deeply grateful for the best weekend ever!

We got there a little later, set up camp, cooked dinner over an open fire, and gazed at the stars for hours while dancing in the freshly mowed lawn and playing with our pup. It was so dreamy to fall asleep to the sounds of coyotes howling in the distance. The only thing to note is that the neighbors are actively farming so you might hear some tractor sounds and work happening in the morning. We’re both farmers ourselves so we didn’t mind! The camp spot is within a half hour drive of numerous waterfalls, lakes, and hikes. It’s a beautiful area!
