As far as we know, this land has been occupied since shortly after the civil war. It is actually two farms, combined into one around 1900. The main farmhouse was built out of the logs they cleared in 1879, and there are old foundations of the other original farm houses/barns as well. All over the property (now woods) there are piles of stones that the original inhabitants pulled from the fields. The second farm house was built in 1901. Most of the total 240 acres were cleared pasture land at that time. During the twenties and thirties the property was owned by an industrious couple from the City that lovingly turned it into more of a "rustic retreat"; damming a pond, planting ornamentals and upgrading the buildings. There have been many owners over the years, but we are proud to say it has been with us the longest. Our family bought it in 1961 and we have been trying to be good stewards ever since. Come and visit our little patch of wilderness!

Camp TedRock Adirondack Forest Retreat provides private and secluded off grid campsites and structures on 5 forested acres within the Blue Line of The Adirondack State Park in Thurman New York. Just minutes from I-87 and the Lake George Region, our A Frame site offers a 120 square foot authentic A-Frame cabin with an open Adirondack Lean-to approach. This 1-4 person A frame comes with 2 to 4 sleeping cots, 2 hammocks (available) with hanging space inside or out and plenty of space to pitch a tent all around, tent included. Down by the runoff stream (sometimes there is no runoff!) you'll find a fire ring with a cooking grill and outdoor seating. Inside the A frame you're provided a lantern, gas cook stove, kitchen ware, food storage cooler and small table and chairs. 14 gallons of potable water is provided. There is a small corner loo inside the A frame with a flushing RV type toilet for the ladies and also a comfortable Adirondack outhouse with an ecological waste removing system. Although the A frame is UNHEATED, there is a small propane space heater available to take off the chill of a cool Adirondack evening. A 1 lb Propane bottle is provided. Additional Propane is available to purchase. This 5-acre quiet paradise is surrounded by on site walking trails where the only sounds are the owls and an occasional airplane. Camp TedRock is close to many popular Adirondack adventures including nearby Crane Mountain, spectacular Garnet Lake, Lake George, the Hudson River and many more. A short walk down to the pond and into the pines and you’re suddenly unaware of reality or time…
Truly a beautiful piece of land. Perfect little cabin with such character.
A hot wood stove to keep cozy as the falling snow blanketed the silent forest around us.
Comfy sleeping pads, lights, plenty of wood, delicious water, cookware and other supplies. Outhouse was so clean and honestly adorable lol!!
Truly the peaceful escape I needed. I want to come back and experience what energy every different season offers, I’m sure they each offer magic.

This space was amazing! Ted was so attentive and communicative - gave us an extremely warm welcome.
The cabin itself was perfect, couldn’t ask for more. The space heater kept us warm, the bed was comfy, the shower had warm water and the view was beautiful.

I stayed two nights while exploring the trails and really enjoyed the view over the field with their horses during the day and the stars at night were amazing. Camp TedRock is awesome! The site is beautiful, well maintained, and peaceful. There are lots of details that show the care put into the experience, like the extra cot, extra lanterns, a bag of kindling, and hand written notes on nearby mountains and lakes. We would definitely come back!

Ted’s set up is the nicest place we have ever camped!! The hot shower and dish washing station was more than amazing. He provides everything you need to cook a meal & sit down to enjoy it. Ted was super nice & accommodating, checking in on us to see if we needed anything. If I ever find myself in NY again, I will 100% stay here again!

Ted is an exceptional host with a lovely property that provides everything you could ever need for a lovely weekend camping. Show up with as little as a tent and some sleeping bags and Ted has you covered on the rest. This campsite has some of the best amenities I’ve ever experienced. From the hot shower to the stove, gazebo, and fire pit, Ted has got you covered.
The campsite is also in a beautiful woods with a lovely brook nearby and great walking paths for you to get your day started with. I couldn’t recommend a campsite more than this. We will most certainly be returning.

This spot is AMAZING!! Super quiet, private, and just a great setup. We are boondockers so we didn't need anything. A very clean outhouse was a bonus. Great fire pit with benches and a picnic table. Trails all around. We explored the trails to the river, with the drought, it was very low. Very nice trails. A very nice walk down the very quiet road to the Moose River. A beautiful spot to explore. One thing, as usual, Google maps is off on the directions. Follow Stacey's directions and look for the gate. We will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Camp TedRock Adirondack Retreat
My buddy and I booked with Ted for a weekend hiking trip up to the ADK's. Coming 9 hours from pittsburgh after work on friday we got in super late/early saturday morning. Knowing our mid night arrival. Ted went out and hung glow sticks for us to help us navigate back to the cabin. Was unexpected and came in clutch!
The a frame was perfect for our needs. The outhouse is in great condition. Beautiful property. Peaceful and well maintained.

We had the pleasure of having a cute porcupine waddle right through the middle of our camp one night. Communication with the owner was great, extremely quick response. Highly recommend. We had a great stay here at the end of September with our dog. The property is beautiful. The place is really peaceful - just the sound of owls at night, no traffic noise at all. There's virtually no light pollution, so we had a really nice view of the stars at night. The beach area was well equipped with a fire pit, propane grill, basic utensils, tiki torches and even a screen room so you can eat without being bothered by bugs (though that wasn't really a problem when we were there). The cabin was cozy too. Overall, a very nice experience. We would love to come back again.

Everything was great, the property was well maintained. The facilities were nice for what it was. We had a wonderful time, the property is very private and quiet most of the time except when there is a caravan of ATVs going by, which is to be expected for the area. The location is fantastic its private , but not too far from anything you might need. It was very nice to be able to let our dogs run free on the property and with plenty of trails there for them to run through.
