Elevation differences are vast, land to the west is uphill for quite a ways, and downhill to the east, to Hemlock lake below, so the world here can feel a bit tilted.
We adjoin 150 acres of nature conservancy lands that nobody seems to know about. These lands are for respectful public daytime use. Our full hook-up camp is in the middle of a small Amish community near the Finger Lakes. Amish buggies pass by occasionally especially on the Sunday where they meet at a neighbors for church fellowship. Our Amish are very friendly and will wave to let you know. There are Amish shops and baked good stands throughout the countryside that are fun to visit. A map of the shops is available to help you. Their shops are not open on Sunday however. The camp is close to the road where it is an easy in and out. We have full hookups...electric, water, and sewer (I have an extra 10 sewer hose if you need it). We are close to Stony Brook State Park, Conesus Lake, Deer Run Winery, Letchworth State Park, Livingston County Murals, Harriet Hollister Spencer State Park (overlook!), Erie Canal, and Geneseo State College. This camp is a nice hub to explore western NYS... going North, South, East, West to see the sites or hike.

The feeling of peace is about 1 mile off the road. Pulling into Apple Cove you'll see we've cleared areas for tents and small van style RVs. There is an individual fire pit for each camper, a small rock bottom creek runs through the 15 acres for a nice, relaxing view of the woods. Happy Trails Landing offers primitive camping and is located between Bully Hill, Klipnocky, Gas Springs and Hiltonville State Forests on 140 acres of privately owned land. This peaceful spot is accessible, yet remote. The Finger Lakes Trail (FLT) follows the edge of the property for over 1/2 mile making your stay ideal for day hikes, or as a stop for those hiking longer sections of the 450+ mile network. Wade in the headwaters of the Canisteo River which passes through, or just get lost in the beauty along its shores. Explore streams and beaver ponds, stroll on miles of mowed grassy trails that wind around fields, meadows, and woods. Watch the sun rise and set and open views make for unparalleled star gazing all night long.
The nearest 3 small towns are about 7-8 miles away where you can find groceries, gas, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The larger “city” of Hornell, (with a Walmart and more) is a 15-20 minute drive. The beautiful Stoney Brook State Park is a 22 minute drive and award winning Letchworth State Park is less than 40 minutes away. We are just slightly southwest of the renowned Finger Lakes Region, but our local wine trail begins in under a 15 minute drive. Several breweries have popped up nearby as well!
Happy Trails will strive to keep your camping experience peaceful and private by not renting to more than one party at a time in the same area unless requested for larger group experiences. Our home is located 1/4 +/- mile from most sites. We are dog lovers and well behaved dogs are welcome as long as owners notify us in advance, keep them in control and clean up after them.
When you arrive you will follow 🙂 signs to your site. There may be scant service without searching out a sweet spot.

The site was clean, flat, and beautiful open space. We had water, electric, and sewer hook up. There was a picnic table and a fire ring. The weather was beautiful, one day of rain and what a blessing that was since it is so very dry here. We did not get to have a fire due to higher winds. We had a wonderful vacation!

This was our second time staying here. It is a lovely place. We appreciate the available electric hookup, drinking water and rv sewer dump. The site is level and could fit at least two moderate sized rvs. The view is beautiful and peaceful. There are houses on either side but both neighbors are quiet. There are dogs, goats, ducks and roosters at the one house, which can make for some occasional animal sounds, but we enjoyed the variety. The stars and sunset and sunrise are beautiful from the property.
Both stays here were quite windy, but both stays were also in spring. We love the mowed trails through the tall grass as a nice place to walk the dogs.

We loved camping at Yost Ridge. The site was beautiful and easily fit two travel trailers. The views were amazing and it’s very peaceful and quiet but still close to multiple wineries and breweries and other activities.

This is a great spot, very peaceful. Lots of room and all the hookups. As soon as you see their sign, take that left into the campground. Its 1 large spot. Owners were very responsive to my emails. I needed a quiet getaway w/ my dog and this was perfect. Keuka State park is only a few miles away. Enjoy!!
