We live off grid in one of the toughest climates in the US. We have about 15 acres of land bordered by 10,000 acres of wild forest preserve. We share our experiences with campers in good weather but exist here all year. I am a Qualified NYS Woodland Guide. My actual license is pending the processing of fees and registration. This should be complete by July 1st of this year. I have over a half century of knowledge gained through a lifetime of hiking, exploring and living in this environment. My main focus is the land, lakes, ponds and streams in the lower Adirondack Park. I leave the high peaks, ice climbing and white water rafting to others that choose that speciality. My goal in guiding is not that of a just a follow me and listen guide. I strive to help those interested in learning about and enjoying the outdoors so that you take away real life skills you can use once we are done. I did search and resuce work as a volunteer for many years under DEC Forest Rangers. To help contain costs l will allow up to four people to participate at one price. Also, my wife makes soaps, potions and lotions under the Dragonfly Gypsy logo. These normally, only available at shows or Etsy, are now available in limited quantities here at the homestead at a guest only reduced price. She uses mostly natural oils, tallow and ingredients sourced from the local Swartzentrubber Amish Comunity that surrounds us. It is known to be one of the most conservative Old Order Amish Communities in the country. Many are consider our very close friends. If you would like Amish made products, l can arrange that as well. Many people are now thinking of doing what we have done. If you so choose, we can schedule time to discuss any of the off gissues that may be unanswered in your mind. The original intent was to offer a peaceful place for you to escape for a short time. That is still our main purpose. Relax at Tilden Hill Farm its a 155 acre farm raising Black Angus Cattle it has been in the Brewer family for seven generations. Founded in 1798 by Josiah Brewer, the farm has served as a grist mill, chicken farm, cheese factory.
We offer several types of site selection for your comfort. Choose from our private tent camping to relaxing RV sites. Our tent sites are quiet and scenic, just a quick walk down to the pond. Enjoy a secluded lakeside campsite with two points of water access. There are no other sites on this 13 acre property, so it's very private. The campsite is just 100 steps down a well-marked trail accessible from the parking spot. Pitch your tent on the elevated platform encircled in pine trees with a view of the lake. Denise was an awesome host and very communicative ahead of your trip to ensure we had all the details to make things seamless. The property is hard to put into words how beautiful it is - we spent our days reading by the fire near the water, fishing, paddling, and enjoying nearby hikes. Ken was a wonderful host at Tilden Farms. It was our first time staying there, and our first time using HipCamp so we really didn’t know what to expect. Our 2 year old LOVED seeing the miniature goats. We went for a nice walk around the property and purchased some black angus from the freezer. Steaks and ground beef were DELICIOUS! We travel to NH usually once or twice a year. We will definitely be using this as our halfway point for all future travel. Thanks again Ken!

Wildflower cabin was the most beautiful setting for a peaceful romantic summer weekend. The cabin was spotless, well maintained and welcoming. The bed was super comfy and especially loved the mosquito net even though bugs were never an issue. The trail to the waterfall was exhilarating and well worth the effort to experience the most beautiful falls and swimming hole. This was an unforgettable experience and we will definitely be returning.

Tilden Hill Farm was MORE than we thought and ever expected. The land was amazing, owners and neighbors beyond helpful and informative, camping accommodations exceeded expectations! 12 miles of trails to hike, flush toilets, showers, 3 new baby goats ~ Ted, Marty and Niles ~ absolutely adorable and entertaining! So many fun activities at the farm! We explored some of the nearby State Parks, breweries and Oneida Lake. We had to reschedule our adventure from last year and made the Brewer Homestead our 1st camping trip this year. This place definitely earned NYS HipCamp of the year for GOOD reason!

I love tent camping on the Brewer’s homestead! Camp site 3 is tucked into the woods where frogs and cattle will lull you to sleep and birds and squirrels will awake you. This location offers access to three tiny goats, trails, portable water, and full service restrooms. I am so impressed with the amenities the Brewers have added and strongly recommend more than one night.

We stayed one night to attend a concert at SPAC. 20 minutes away and close to downtown Saratoga too! The two sites were level and fhu. We chose site 2 since the sewer and water/electric were on the same side and easily connected with the equipment we had. Site 1 is larger and you can park in the shade and is a larger site. Unfortunately, the sewer was on the service side but water and electric were far apart on the passenger side. To make it work, plan to have longer hoses and an extension cord. Mike was great and met us to figure it all out. We will definitely come back. Many thanks again.
