It was named many years ago and as soon as you arrive you will see why the name was chosen. It has been in our family for almost 100 years. You can still see remnants of the gristmill that use to operate there. Many great memories have been made at the Falls and we now want to share our slice of paradise with you. The rolling creek, a feeder searching for it's mama - the Delaware River - runs down the mountainside and over the rocks to give power and life to the falls. The steady flow makes you think you are far from civilization. But not really - only a short hike and you travel from the falls to a dirt road to a paved highway in a matter of a few minutes. Over thousands of years and a few hundred year floods nature has made this wonderful cave-like formation under and behind the waterfall. The flat rock is a great place to picnic and enjoy the tranquility of the water. The trees surrounding the area make a fitting canopy for this unique campsite. The mountain behind is great for climbing and a short walk down the creek will get you to the base of Jensons Ledges. The ledges are a steep hike up a mountain to a spectacular vista. This gorgeous 24' Yurt includes electricity, excellent Wifi, comfortable Queen beds (one mattress on a bed frame and up to two floor mattresses), a refrigerator, and a pristine compost toilet. There is no running water but we provide one gallon of drinking water and one gallon of water for washing up in the bathroom. You can add-on our outdoors camping shower setup for an additional $30, which is more like a birdbath than a real shower, but you can add hot water so it is warm. Sit on our gorgeous rocking chairs on the deck and grill, and stargaze from bed through the dome in the ceiling. Please also note that there are extra charges for more than 2 guests ($15/ person/ night), pets ($25/ stay), propane for heat (if needed- $25/ tank) mini-propane for gas grill ($10) wood bundle for outdoor fire ($15) and outdoor shower setup ($30 for us to fill with water, provide biodegradable soap, and two towels). You can add these to your booking under 'Extras' Please read through all details below to help prepare you for your stay : ) Wifi We have excellent high-speed fiberoptic Wifi. There is no cell service, so make sure to save it before you arrive. Sound Expect to hear all the sounds of nature that you hear when sleeping in a tent. While the Yurt is insulated and stays warm, sound-wise it is like a tent rather than like a house, so expect to hear the sounds of the woods and the weather during your stay. Windows The screen windows close two different ways: to keep the Yurt insulated there is a velcroed thick plastic cover that is clear. To keep out light/ for added privacy you can roll down a solid canvas flap and zip them shut. Please note that both of these things need to happen from outside the Yurt, so you may want to set them how you want them before you turn in for the night. Please reset windows to how you found them when you leave. Bathroom Our compost toilet is lined with a compostable trash bag. Please scoop sawdust from the Periwinkle Milk Crate into the toilet after each use of the toilet. You should scoop enough sawdust to completely and generously cover everything in the toilet. When you end your trip and leave the Yurt, and/or when the toilet is 2/3 full, please tie shut the compostable bag and dump the bag into our compost. Every time you use the outdoor compost, please cover what you have disposed of with either leaves or the hay provided in the center bin. (If you are only staying for 1-2 nights and would prefer not to do this, that is totally fine! Just let us know you didn’t get a chance to bring it out.) There is a pitcher with water and a wash bin for brushing teeth/ washing hands in the bathroom. You can empty the wash bin outside when finished using it. We also provide all-purpose soap. Heat The Yurt is well insulated and runs on a propane heater. Please note that propane is not included in your stay and each tank is $25; you can find them under add-ons. Each propane tank will comfortably heat the yurt a night as cold as 30-degree night up to 24hrs. Decide how many tanks you'd like depending how long you are staying or how cold you expect it to be. The Yurt will comfortabl heat freezing nights as well, it just will use propane more quickly. Water We provide a filtered, clean water with each visit. We also provide a pitcher of water in the bathroom for brushing teeth and washing hands and face. If you are staying longer than two nights, or if you expect for any reason to use more water than provided, we ask that you bring the additional water with you, keeping in mind it is a short (4-minute) hike from parking to the Yurt. In some cases with enough notice we may be able to provide additional water for your stay for an additional charge. Kitchenette We provide an electric kettle, a mini fridge and freezer, a microwave for use during your stay. We provide a gas Cuisinart Grill for use on the deck. If you plan to use the grill, please do a $10 mini-propane add-on so we can make sure there is fresh propane provided. We also provide cups, wine glasses, a French Press for coffee making, and plates and bowls. Please do not put the plastic plates and mugs in the microwave. Please throw any compostable food into the compost bin or compost bag provided in the kitchenette and empty it into our large outdoor compost bin at the end of each day. Every time you use the outdoor compost, please cover what you have disposed of with either leaves or the hay provided in the center bin. Please never leave any food in the Yurt for more than one day that isn’t sealed in an airtight container. Please do not put meat or dairy products in the compost. If you bring meat or dairy products into the Yurt, we ask that you take any meat or diary trash out with you and dispose of it elsewhere. We have provided trash bags for this purpose. Please keep any meat and dairy products and trash in airtight sealed containers in the Yurt until you are able to dispose of them. Shower If you add-on the Shower Setup ($30) we will fill it with water, and provide 2 towels and biodegradable soap. This is an outdoors camping shower enclosed by shower curtains with a dirt floor; it is very rudimentary, but if you add warm water from the kettle it will be nice and warm. Please do not use any of your own products like soap, shampoo, or conditioner in the shower because it will be bad for the forest floor. Trash Please dispose of regular trash and recycling in our regular trash cans across from where you park. Walton automatically sorts recycling from trash so both can go in the same bins (we separate our recycling in a different bag just so the trash doesn’t contaminate it, but put it in the same bin as the trash.) Compost (fruit + veggie scraps, tea + coffee grounds, toilet bag) gets taken to outdoor compost bin on path to parking and covered with hay or leaves Meat + dairy stays sealed in an airtight container when in the Yurt and taken with you when you leave Rules 1) Please remove shoes as soon as you enter the Yurt 2) Please scoop sawdust anytime you use the toilet, and please take the toilet sawdust out to the compost bin once it is 2/3 of the way full or when you leave, whichever comes first. (If you are only staying 1-2 nights and prefer not to do this, that is fine, just please let us know you didn’t get a chance to bring out the toilet compost and our cleaner will take care of it.) 3) Please turn off all electricity, including all lights and heaters every time you leave the Yurt, especially when you end your trip. 4) Please never leave any food in the Yurt for more than one day that isn’t sealed in an airtight container. Please put any compostable food in the kitchen compost and take that compost out to the outdoor compost every couple days, covering the compost with leaves or hay once it is disposed of. Relax in a secluded, comfortable tent while enjoying the music of the frogs. The land is a mix of cleared and wooded areas with a half acre pond. In the spring the pond comes alive with the singing of frogs and the blinking of fireflies. Enjoy a campfire in the evening and a brilliant display of stars. The pond is nice for swimming or paddling. We provide a kayak or just sit on the dock or relax in the hammock. The village of Callicoon is a ten minute drive with great restaurants, a brewery, distillery, wine bar, grocery store, vintage shops, live music and a wonderful farmers market on the weekend. From town, you can also book a canoe trip on the Delaware River. Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is a 15 minute drive for great concerts and an interesting museum. There will be a list in the tent with suggested activities in the surrounding area if you choose to go exploring. We provide kindling, firewood, bedding, fresh eggs from our chickens and brownies from our kitchen. There is a small cupboard attached to the picnic table with everything you will need for meals on the campfire. A cooler is provided, please bring your own ice. There will be 2 large jugs of water at the site and additional water at the handwashing station on the back side of the outhouse. The site offers total privacy. Parking is within a couple minutes walk to the site and there will be a cart to help you transport your gear. We are a couple of longtime residents of this beautiful piece of the planet and we look forward to sharing it with you.

2 nights at Mountain Bliss

Not only my partner and I enjoyed our stay, but our fur babies had such a lovely time too. We had the most wonderful stay at Mountain Bliss and are so thankful for the amazing hospitality. Host Marion was incredibly welcoming, kind, thoughtful, and very helpful throughout our stay. She even let us borrow power banks when we needed them, which we truly appreciated. You can really feel how much care she puts into making guests feel comfortable and at home. We loved everything from the peaceful overall view, the rustic toilet setup, the big trash bins for convenience, and especially the heater that kept us warm during the changing warm-cold night weather. Every day felt relaxing and cozy. If you’re looking for a much-needed escape from the busy city life like we were, this place is absolutely for you. Mountain Bliss truly gave us peace, comfort, and beautiful memories with our dogs. We would happily come back again.

Weekend Trip to The Hillside Retreat

The Hillside Retreat is absolutely fantastic! We loved the view of the mountains from the tent, but we loved the view of the stars even more. Lydia and Robert were very welcoming and were kind enough to bring us another fire starter when we struggled to light the campfire. It was very peaceful, and we got the best night's sleep we'd had in ages. Waking up to the rooster crowing was a nice treat! Absolutely wonderful stay, I hope we get to stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Triple S Tenting

Stayed at the shack for two days with my dogs. Enjoyed my time so much! Lots of privacy and so much land for my dogs to run. First night it poured, the sound of the rain while laying in bed made the shack even more cozy. Will be coming back! Jan is such a sweet host!

I enjoyed camping out on Ryan’s remote section of woods. It lovingly situated by a peaceful stream - I listened and watched the ducks fly and land in front of the site. Enjoyed a hammock perfected positioned on the bank. Had a nice fire at night in his fire ring and listened to a Barred owl late into the night. If you need a peaceful getaway into the wild, this may be for you.

We had a lovely stay in the retro RV. Soaking in a hot bath next to a fire and the sounds of the spring was a top tier moment. We ventured out less than 15 miles to Trout Pond and found a stunning view at Russel Brook Falls. Overall a super charming experience, Sam was a great host.

We had a fantastic trip thanks to the site being fantastic, and Sam being a wonderful host! There was an unforeseen issue early on and Sam was quick to immediately get my wife and I on a different site without us having to reschedule, no questions asked. Not to mention the grounds themselves are close enough to stores/other outings if you need anything. I would return again in a heartbeat.

Loved the springs hot tub, hot and steamy. The propane heater in the cabin kept us warm and toasty while it snowed outside. Will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Paradise Falls

This is a really great campsite. Beautiful surroundings and very private. There is a creek and waterfall that are beautiful and the sound is wonderful to sleep to. We camped very early in the season, but were lucky to have decent weather. The main tent has a bed and a propane heater setup, on a platform and is downright luxurious. Another platform for a tent as well. There is a covered area with a table and benches and a propane grill, right near the water. A great spot for a morning coffee by the waterfall. Just incredible scenery and very well maintained. Two firepits, one by the main area, and another down by the waterfall. Very scenic and relaxing. The host, Randall was very helpful and gave us great directions and met us at the campsite, showed us how everything worked. A very nice and clean bathroom/outhouse with a sink fed from the creek. Plenty of wood when we arrived, and an old school splitter. Really just a perfect site, very private, and a host that is very welcoming and helpful. Very well equipped site, we packed a ton of gear and really didn't need anything at all. Had a great time and will be back again soon. I love to camp, and been to several hipcamps - never been to one as nice with a host as considerate as Randall. Can't recommend this site enough!

3 nights at Glamping Tent Overlooking Waterfall

10/10 u should stay here. i usually dont even like glamping/cabins because i would rather just camp but this was very worth it. the cabin is isolated enough to feel like you are alone you dont even really notice other ppl are staying on the property. its the perfect size for a couple and we stayed with our cat too. the bathtub was so nice and having a covered bbq and pantry outside makes everything really easy. if you want to be outdoors/in nature but straight camping in the northeast winter/cold/stormy season is too much for you this is perfect. Sam is great and was always around if we had a issue or needed help with something. he let us pit fire some ceramics as well which was a blessing.

Sam was an amazing host! We got stuck on the icy road on his property and he came and saved us - with a winch but also humor and understanding! I never imagined a tent in the Catskills in February, surrounded by snow, could be so warm, but it was really comfortable sleeping in the tent. The sound of the waterfall was a beautiful white noise machine to help us sleep and just amazing to look at. The amenities were fantastic but the best thing was the mineral bath - the water was SO WARM and on a cold night that was especially welcomed. I would stay here for 1,000 years if I could!
