2 nights at Big Little Hideaway

We loved staying at The Rainbow Connection on Jayme & Doug’s land. The instructions were clear and helpful. Being so close to the Rio Grande was such a treat, and being at essentially the start of the Enchanted Circle Drive was also amazing. It was such a cozy spot to land each night and we enjoyed making breakfast with the windows open and the cool early morning breeze. Would definitely stay again! And will definitely recommend to friends!

Weekend Trip to Juniper Mesa Camp

We absolutely adore this place. We had the BEST time. We stayed in a treehouse and it was so nice. We slept with the windows open and there was a lovely breeze coming through at night. We had a sweet hummingbird visitor for a moment one morning. The grounds are beautiful and there are tons of activities to do. I think you could spend a full week there and not get bored. The bathhouse is really clean and lovely. Lots of places to cook and clean dishes around. Several places to sit with community and meet all the other awesome guests. We did a family archery lesson with Bobcat and it was spectacular. Our 6 and 8 year old kids enjoyed it just as much as we did. I hope we can return soon and often.

Kate's place is beautiful, clean, amazing. She is a wonderful host, very responsive and gives very clear instructions to get to her place. Would definitely come back. And most definitely recommend to anyone who doesn't mind being completely off the grid.

Had such a great stay. Very clean, everyone was super friendly. The guided hikes were awesome. Dogs loved it!

This is a wonderful space, there are great views to be had, definitely stroll around the property for different vantage points. The space feels very private and it was amazingly quiet, especially in the evenings The homes themselves are laid how really well and do not "feel" tiny at all, the kitchen was stocked with what you need and totally functional making meal prep a breeze. In the evenings, with the windows open there was a wonderful breeze. During the hot day, the AC was more than sufficient to keep the home cool. Hot tub is an amazing place to watch the sun set and then to gaze at the stars that follow. Host was wonderful and provided us with a hike recommendation that ended up being our favorite of the trip. Should also mention the proximity to hiking, the Rio Grand and Taos made this a great location! Highly recommend!

This was my 2nd year staying here, but this time I stayed in one of the treehouses. It was so nice being close to the kitchen, having electricity, and having a real bed to sleep in. It was a pleasure, wish I could have stayed longer.

This camp is INCREDIBLE! We stayed in one of the Pegasus Treehouses and it was such a fun experience. The outdoor kitchen setup was such a great community spot and we met some really cool people. Very quiet, very clean, and the most unique camping experience we’ve had! Who wouldn’t want to sleep in a treehouse?! 🤩

Everything was PERFECT. From the river to the animals to the attention to play, freedom, relaxation and peaceful setting. This place has it ALL! Payment and reservation was stupid easy to set up. Everything was provided. Aaaaand there was shade, water, FIREFLIES and baby GOATS. Best money my tired city butt has spent in forever.

Our stars shine brighter than most, and coyote songs will remind you that you're dwelling amongst the high desert wildlife.The 1 3/4 mile road to Little Dancing Horse Ranch is not for everyone. I will reiterate this a couple times in this listing to make sure people understand that we live on a rocky, dirt road. Some folks find it not to be a big deal while others do. Our private 100 sq ft. casita is immersed in the cottonwoods and golden rain trees in our cozy and private backyard. We converted a shed into an art studio and then into a what it is today, a stand alone guest house. There is a privacy fence separating it from the main house and a separate entrance through the side gate. There's a new full bathroom with a flush toilet, shower/tub, hot water, a kitchenette with a two burner stove and a mini-refrigerator. The space is well insulated and has two ambient eco heaters . The sleeping loft has a new full-size, firm foam mattress. The neighborhood is quiet and away from the tourism but also close enough to easily explore those aspects of Santa Fe if you'd like. Hiking and biking and skiing options are numerous and we have a co-op grocery store, yoga, coffee shop, etc. within a 3 minute drive or 15 min. walk. A laundromat is also close-by.

This is a non-smoking, no candle facility. The camp was founded 40 years ago as a summer camp for kids. We continue to offer camps for children and their parents and grandparents (family camps), as well as welcome adults and other groups to enjoy the vast and wild high desert nature up on this ridge. Register for our nature education activities and resources available for everyone who stays on the property. These topics include sustainability, recycling, composting, water conservation, wildfire prevention, outdoor safety, and nature awareness along with the use of our hiking trails. You can also join an archery class, tomahawk throwing, climbing on the mobile climbing wall, Yoga, Qigong, Climbing Into The Heart of the Mother Tree, Star talks and more... There are beautiful views and access to Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy various level hiking trails including a 20 minute hike to a creek and waterfall in the forest (some steep spots and creek is intermittent) or climb up Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please). IMPORTANT: We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road (with 5-7+% grade in a few short stretches) and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! We are excited to share our little A-frame cabin in the woods! The cabin is quite rustic ( and quite cute). Think of it like glamping -- outhouse, wood burning stove, dirt roads, and beautiful trees and mountains included. ** To keep the cabin affordable, all guests are responsible for cleaning up the cabin at the end of the stay and making it ready for the next guest. There are no cleaners coming in after you. ** The cabin is a 432 square foot A-frame in a small mountain community, which is surrounded by the Jemez National Forest. There are a few places to hike right from the front door, and many, many trailheads within a 20 minute drive. Fenton Lake is a short drive away, and the San Antonio Hot Springs is a 2.5 mile hike, bike, or ski away right out the front door for the confident adventurer. Located 1.5 hours from Albuquerque and Santa Fe, a few miles off of NM-4 between the town of Jemez Springs and the Valles Caldera National Preserve. Learn more about this land: Lush high desert river oasis nestled in a fertile valley in the Carson National Forest right between the fiery expanse of Taos and the rolling colorful formations of Abiquiu. Peaceful and private 3 acres right by the river at the edge of a little quaint town called La Madera (145 people, no shops)- just 6 miles to the healing mineral Hot Springs of Ojo Caliente, a place of emergence or rebirth as known to the local Natives. Right by the river, held by a ridge (that makes for amazing sunset hikes), I have a 16ft Yurt Canvas set up with furnishings (desk, couch, wash stand) and a wooden Queen Bed with down bedding. This site can only be reached by foot across the river via stumps- a car can be parked near by.. approx. 50ft. I also have a Vintage Camper that can be heated, has a kitchen, electricity and plenty of outdoor furniture with a fire pit and serene mountain views. As well as a monastic and very grounding Ensuite Bedroom, or a simple campsite if you want to bring your own camper or tent. All facilities have access to a guest bathroom inside the main house. I offer dog sitting while you soak at Ojo, healing modalities that you'll find in the Extras section, and my dear neighbor Jackie takes appointments for massages with homemade essential oils. +++ 6 miles to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs. There you will find the best restaurant in the area, with locally/organically farmed produce. The land is naturally and beautifully wild- it is not a manicured campsite. The dirt rd down to the property is best suited for higher clearance vehicles, but is manageable for city cars. With land by the river comes the mosquitos- June to August only. They are predominantly active during sunrise and sunset; long loose fitting clothes and a repellent work great. Waterhole, Waterfall and climbing sites near by, as well as Plaza Blanca, Abiquiu, Ghost Ranch and the Taos Gorge are 30 mins drive away. *No cell service in the greater area. WiFi reaches around the house/deck and allows for WiFi Calling: that’s a setting in your phone that enables phone calls & texts beside usual internet access.

Coyote Cabin

Welcome to the little guest cabin on the mesa. Simple. Cozy. Quiet. Clean. Everything you need and little that you don't. Everyone's most loved feature is the expansive covered patio, with wide-open westward views over the Rio Grande Gorge. Perfect for outdoor lovers who need a comfy adventure base. Close to skiing, hiking, rafting, mountain biking, hot air balloons, and more. Solid wifi for remote work. Coyote Cabin sits on 10 acres just north of Taos, on a property shared with the main house. You have access to miles of walkable dirt roads right from the door, and there are trails to BLM land nearby. 10 minute drive from access to the Rio Grande Gorge, and an easy 25 minute drive into Taos Ski Valley for snow fun and hiking. 15 min north of downtown Taos. The cabin is divided into two sides. One side is a bedroom/bathroom suite with a comfortable queen size bed and a bathroom (with an awesome standing shower). On the other side, separated by an exterior door, you'll find a cozy space for dining and relaxing, a couch (with a small fold-out mattress), and a kitchenette. This means you move from the living room/kitchenette to the bedroom/bathroom by walking outside under the covered patio. While it's a bit unusual, we really enjoy it, and so do 99% of our guests. If you like being outdoors, and enjoy having separate areas for sleeping vs hanging out and cooking, you'll enjoy it too. The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, a large double sink, an electric cooktop, varied coffee supplies, and all the essential cooking amenities. No need to run to the store just for basics like salt, pepper, or oil. Plus some less basic items, like a variety of Trader Joes spices + emergency snacks. The Blackstone outdoor griddle is a versatile cooking amenity, where you can make a full breakfast spread, delicious fajitas, and really anything in between. This is a somewhat remote high desert area, with all that entails. There are birds, bugs, and lots of other wildlife around. You may hear coyotes singing late at night or early in the morning. The last 1.5 miles of the drive are on a maintained dirt road. You don't need 4WD or a lifted vehicle to get here, although you may need it for other areas of Taos. The guest cabin shares the 10 acres with the main house, where we live. If we're out of town, other guests may be staying in the main house. The cabin and house are well separated by both a large garage and latilla privacy fences. The cabin is dog friendly, as we have two of our own and know the challenges of traveling with dogs.

If unplugging is not on your itinerary, we do have a dedicated work space and high-speed satellite internet suitable for any level of remote work. PLEASE NOTE: • There are narrow stairs to get to the sleeping loft which are not suitable for those with poor balance. This listing is not suitable for children under 4 years old. • Cell signal is spotty for a few miles around us, so confirm directions and check-in details with us prior to your arrival date • We live about ½ mile down a rocky, dirt road. Most vehicles have no problem if it's taken slowly although high clearance vehicles are ideal. After rain or snow events, the road can get muddy and slippery, though we have never been stuck with either of our 2WD vehicles. Please do not drive over 15 MPH on our road, as it is not county maintained and takes our community an immense amount of effort to keep it drivable. • This tiny house contains a composting toilet in lieu of a regular flush toilet. We provide directions, but if you are not comfortable with the idea then this tiny house is not for you.
