This place was amazing. I am on a long road trip after rescuing a dog in Phoenix. They were kind enough to wait up for me. The room was really comfortable and clean for my dog and I. The only thing I regret is not being able to spend more time there. The outside space is so cool. Hopefully I’m able to visit again! Thank you!

This place was awesome! We had everything we could possibly want and need. Gregory and Robbie were so sweet and helpful with everything from advice on things to do to making us feel truly at home! We even extended our stay once we learned another night was available. This place is a must stay if you’re ever near Albuquerque!

The site was quiet, relatively private, with great views. Directions were clear and easy to follow, site was level, power/water/sewer conveniently placed. I would stay there again and I would also recommend it to my friends.

This was glorious. I loved every bit of it, from the owners to every little amenity. I would recommend 1000% and stay here again if we get the chance.

The area was well planned. She had an outdoor sofa and the outhouse was as clean as can be . The road in was a little rough. My GPS from HC website to me off course but a very nice in town helped with directions. Met Kim and she was super nice and welcoming.

Camping in Taos valley was an exceptional experience, especially with Don as the host! The land is gorgeous, the on-site porta-potty was clean and Don was extremely helpful and told us about the awesome history of his land and the surrounding area. In April it got cold at night and was warm during the day, so make sure you pack for a little bit of everything. I would absolutely come back and plan to in the future. If you’re wanting an escape to some beautiful, vast and open plains that are surrounded by mountains, and where stars light up the skies at night, check out Don’s campgrounds. You won’t be disappointed!

This was a great spot for me and my dog to car camp on our cross country move. I felt very relaxed and at ease the entire time. The property is absolutely stunning. Tricia was incredibly hospitable and kind, I highly recommend this Hipcamp!

I loved camping at Camp 1. The views of the surrounding area are amazing. My dog was able to be off leash. The rural setting was quiet and safe. If you enjoy birds, there were partridges and meadowlarks on the property. Don was quick with communication for ideas where to eat.

The Enchanted Circle Campground sits on the Avalon Ranch. It is 161 owned acres surrounded by a state trust lease. We are very proud to have been voted #1 Campground in NM 4 years in a row and ranked Top 5 by Forbes in the country. We have 8 Sites to choose from. (No large RVs at 4, 7 or 8) Campfires are permitted, and pets are welcome. Free potable water is available as well as a portable toilet. For cooking, you will have a fire pit, with a cast iron grill. Every site (but 7) has a standing charcoal grill, with tongs, a spatula and a grill brush. A fire extinguisher and a shovel. We hang a hand washing jug at every site for your convenience, with potable water, but do not suggest this for drinking water source. The property was originally homesteaded in 1893. It was also the first potato farm in NM. It has seven ground-fed springs that run year-round and is officially the Coyote Creeks Headwaters. The springs converge after filling 4 of our ponds in the marshland where the potatoes were grown. A family of 4 lived in the first dwelling built here, not much larger than a shed. Since that time, 2 homes, 1 of which still stands, a barn, a smokehouse, and 4 other outbuildings were constructed. There are old wagons and farm equipment from the late 1800s and early 1900's still strewn about the ranch. We are home to Huge herds of Elk, mule deer, turkeys, prairie dogs, eagles, black bears, 9 horses, chickens, pigs, goats, our 2 dogs and 4 cats, and the occasional Mountain Lion. We live here year-round. We love our land and want to share it with others. I am a Veteran and our intent is to eventually have a Veterans Retreat facility here. Not a retreat itself, but rather a location for all of the retreats, nationwide, to be able to utilize, so they can use the funds they have to do what they do best. You are helping to make that possible. We do pride ourselves on minimally impacting our land. We strive to keep it clean and as close to nature as we can. And as always, Veterans, LEOs, and Fire Fighters are always free for one night up to 4 guests. Our sites have tables and chairs created from old tires. We are re-using old pallets to create tent platforms, benches and signs. Our little campground is primitive, but we are a work in progress, with amenities coming in the future. Property butts up against a large BLM area, with plenty of room to take a walk in the buff. We have an above ground pool if you would prefer to relax and skinny dip. Or if you're preferring to sight see, there are numerous places to go around our area. In New Mexico, in 45 minutes or less you can be at one of the following: Navajo Lake State Park, Aztec Ruins, Glade Run Recreational area, Jackson Lake Wildlife Refuge, Farmington Lake Recreational area. San Juan Quality Waters in the San Juan River offers world class fishing. The Animas River offers fun river floats. Chaco Canyon National Park is only 2 hours away. In Colorado, we are about an hour from these attractions: Mesa Verde National Park, McPhee Reservoir, Canyon of the Ancients, Lake Nighthorse Day Use Recreation area, Chimney Rock and Purgatory Ski Resort. Our property looks remote because we are on the edge of the village overlooking the hills and mountains of village land, however we are just a hop skip jump away from the local bar, cafe, gas station, etc. This property is best suited for RVs, car camping, vans, etc. Tent camping is available, but beware of winds. We offer very limited access to amenities, but with some notice we can help with with water hook ups, garbage disposal. We have an extra bathroom in the house available for guests to use for toilet and showers, but require arrangements, as we have dogs and will need to unlock house as needed.
