This property overlooking the beautiful Connecticut river (no access to) has two cabins to choose from, one sleeps two people and the other can accommodate three. The property is such a peaceful spot! We have a rustic outhouse, and showers can be taken in the main farmhouse on the property if you would like, available Monday thru Saturday from 8am to 9am. So that means Sundays are not available or evenings. The cabin is outfitted with a comfy bed, fridge, and microwave and coffee maker. We sell firewood to sit around a cozy campfire at night and stargaze! You can even purchase a S'mores package as well! Enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings and listen to the birds. Bottled water is included as well and placed in your fridge upon arrival. Potable water also easily accessible. We will do our best to make you feel at home away from home. In a way that is never intrusive, we respect your privacy. Come and unwind with nature all around you. We are very pet friendly! And ask that all dogs are on a leash while outside. Also, pets are not to be left in the cabins unattended at any time. So, with all that said get yourself and your pets here and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on your deck looking out to the river. Don't set an alarm, the loons or geese may wake you first! Listen to the birds and relax! And if luck is with you, you might spot a bald eagle! Want to play with goats? We have them! Come say hi to Sam and Frodo! Hiking trails are nearby including Groton State Forest, hiking near Willoughby Lake is only about 45 minutes away and is worth the trip! The ATV trail is 400 ft away from the driveway. Moore Reservoir is 1/4 mile away with a boat ramp and swim recreation area. Convient location This property is quiet and secluded, but only 10 minutes from Lancaster and Littleton, NH. Where will you sleep? A Deluxe posturpedic full-size pillow-top Murphy bed pulls down directly in front of the French wood doors. There is also a small loft area if needed. Two Velux skylights are above the bed. Every window looks out over the property and has views. Blackout Curtains on every window except skylights. Cooking- I have tried to include everything that will be needed in the kitchen to cook -Glasses, cutting board, utensils, French Press, percolator kettle, plates, etc. Cooking Tools are provided for the propane grill and charcoal smoker. I do not include coal for the grill. On board water tank and propane cooktop. Water will need to be filled with supplied washing water. Toilet and bathroom. There is an outdoor composting toilet that you can use. It is in an enclosure for privacy. Waste needs to be disposed of accordingly. Outdoor shower with hot water via propane. Small half bath inside the Tiny House to wash, etc Parking area.is large and you can drive up to the house. Power DC USB plugs provide power to charge a cellphone. DC-powered chest fridge. There is no 120-volt power from the street. if you have a generator, bring it. Bring bug spray for ticks, flashlight, etc.

I had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was adorably decorated with a cozy rustic aesthetic and felt very welcoming. The bed was super comfortable, and although there was a space heater provided, I didn’t end up needing it. The host was extremely communicative and helpful, even making sure I had a warm shower in the morning, which I really appreciated. The views of the river were beautiful—especially in the morning with the fog rolling across the water. One of my favorite parts of the stay was the animals on the property—it made the experience feel even more special. I also loved that I was able to bring my dog along with me.

Jess was an amazing host and this was by far the most comfy cozy and CLEAN place on our fall New England trip!! The pictures honestly didn’t do it justice. She really took care of all the details you might need and it was very well presented. We got showed in the morning and the hospitality was amazing. The property is very beautiful and peaceful. The cabin had a great view of the river and I enjoyed my stay. My dog was allowed which I always appreciate. Jessica brought a heater for me which was perfect for the chilly nights. I arrived at night and did not see the sink/hose for water. You do have to turn the water on and off from the house. Jessica was very responsive and I was able to meet and chat with her. There are chickens, ducks, and 2 goats but I did not hear any of them at all from the cabin.

Jessica is fantastic and you couldn’t ask for a more well kept place to spend the night. We sprung for the s’mores and firewood packages and I’d highly recommend. Lots of great, dry wood, and you couldn’t pick up the s’mores supplies cheaper yourself— made it all that much easier to have an enjoyable evening.

Jessica is a great host and the cabin was really clean and cute! The set up is really cool and the view is amazing but we can’t have access because the road is private as mentioned by Jessica. The rustic toilet was really tidy! Real dish would be highly appreciated like wine glasses, real plates, glasses instead of paper cup, etc. Also, an additional time to shower after the day (example from 4:00 to 5:00) would be nice after a long hike. Overall the place is great for 1 or 2 nights! Thanks!

We had a lovely time staying at the Getaway Nest! Jessica's location feels delightfully secluded while still being near several necessities for anything we needed or forgot. A great home base for either chilling overlooking the river or several day trips to nearby destinations. Jessica was very helpful answering questions and helping with requests while also giving us our space.
