It was Town's place to get away from the busy life. As time went on and his money dwindled and plans to sell off some of the land arose. Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. So that means Sundays are not available or evenings. The cabin is outfitted with a comfy bed, fridge, and microwave and coffee maker. Bottled water is included as well and placed in your fridge upon arrival. Potable water also easily accessible. We will do our best to make you feel at home away from home. Dancing Bear Farm is a working farm with silvopastured chickens, turkeys, goats, and horses. Campsites are at the edge of the hayfields overlooking a view of Mt. Ascutney and Mt. Sunapee and excellent sunrises! During your stay you are welcome to visit the animals, explore the forested trails, and walk up to the pond. There is a shared campfire and pavilion that guests are welcome to use, as well as a restroom with flush toilet and handwashing sink close to the campsites. Firewood is provided though we also have higher quality firewood bundles available to purchase. We can also offer a customized farm experience for an additional cost! Hike with the goats, harvest in the garden, or meet the baby animals! Traveling with kids? We can offer a private kids farm class while the grownups head off for their own adventures. There were sites on either sides of us but it wasn't too loud at all and still felt private, everything was very clean and the instructions provided were very clear. Donna and Sam were great. Loved that there was wood on site for the fire pit, we really just had to show up with food, everything else was provided and thought of. I will say the horse trailer was very cozy and we loved the views of the pond, but I will say it can get loud if it is raining! If you don't mind that, it's a great, clean and cozy place to stay.

Loved my stay in the Magick Cabin! Of all of my stays at Sacred Nectar, what struck me the most about this spot is the thought and detail put into it. Even though the weather ended up being quite rainy, there was no better place to experience it. You can see and hear the rain pattering the roof from the loft bed.

We were looking for a quiet getaway to unplug and be outside and this place offered exactly that. Be ready to walk a little ways from the parking to the tree house, but this wasn’t an issue for us. Lots of nice walkable hiking trails, a communal fire we were able to use, and even a cool farm cat that loved hanging out with us!

Great place with great people. They have the cutest cats as well. Make sure you read the directions/details of the site before you go so you know what you’re signing up for. The furnace had some mild venting issues but we were able to get it going pretty warm and toasty. The farm itself is beautiful—it was nice to get away from the city and enjoy slow life and nature. 10/10 trip

Weekend Trip to Rest Farm

We had a wonderful quick trip at Shannon’s yurt! She was easy to communicate with and provided us with lots of information in advance of our stay. The yurt was pristine! Bright and beautiful and so cozy. The deck space is great. There was a small table perfect for food prep on the Coleman cook stove. We used the grill on the deck for burgers. There are lots of cooking tools provided as well as a dish basin and soap. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was so cozy and warm! Looking at the stars through the skylight was my favorite part!! We walked across the road to pisgah for a hike. The gas stove is new and incredibly efficient but a bit hard for us to figure out. We didn’t realize until talking to Shannon and her husband the next morning that the stove auto turns off and kicks back on when it drops to a certain temp. We were manually turning it on and off which meant we were either sweating or shivering in the night. Now we know! And so will you. There was room in the yurt for a pack and play and a toddler cot. The incinerator toilet was awesome. No smell at all! Shannon and her husband were lovely to chat with. We can’t wait to come back for another stay at Rest Farm!
