My husband and I took our two girls (ages 8 and 10) to stay in the lady Asha yurt. The yurt was well stocked with so many little details well thought out. All of the animals were very friendly. We had horses and a dog come right up to our yurt to say hello.

We just came back from our second trip to Hummingbird Hollow Outdoors, and once again it felt absolutely magical. ✨
As a single mama of four, camping can sometimes feel overwhelming, but renting the yurt made it so much easier — and honestly, it turned into something even more special. The land itself is breathtaking, and the experience of being surrounded by animals roaming freely, sweet and friendly, made it unforgettable for my kids. They were in heaven, completely obsessed with every animal they met.
Making magical core memories with my children is my number one goal as a mama, and this place does that and so much more. It wasn’t just a getaway — it was a memory-making trip that gave us those moments I know my children will carry in their hearts forever.
The beauty of the land, the warmth of the animals, and the sense of peace all around truly make it a one-of-a-kind spot. This is more than a five-star rating, but five stars is the max. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We’ll definitely be coming back as often as humanly possible!

Hummingbird Hollow was exactly what we needed this past weekend. The yurt, Lady Asha, was beyond expectations and had everything we needed. The animals (especially the horses and donkeys), the creek, the foliage, was all the nature healing we could ask for. We can't wait to go back!

We got 2 glamping tents for a 15th birthday- 3 kids, 1 adult, 2 dogs. All enjoyed the stay. Nice pond. Comfy beds. Elizabeth works hard to provide and ensure you have what you need. Farm animals are always lovely to see and be around. Nice patch of property to explore on foot. Shared kitchen area a nice touch (for our ice-cream cake and meals).

My rock loving son and I spent the night here and my only complaint is we didn’t plan to stay longer! Everything about this peaceful and beautiful land is amazing. We stayed in one of the furnished yurt style tents and it was gorgeous and had so many nice details like fairy lights and a fan!
The hosts Elizabeth and Mark really went out of their way to make our stay incredible. My son is an avid rock collector and Mark showed him all sorts of rocks from his collection and even cut a few of the ones we collected.
It was hot outside but we still slept well with the fans in our tent. The outdoor kitchen had everything we needed and the compost toilets and the showers were clean with great warm water. We started our morning by relaxing in the awesome hammocks by the pond and then visiting all the farm animal's.
This is a must visit place for anyone who loves rocks or is seeking a family friendly place to enjoy the outdoors. We are already looking forward to our next trip back!

We had an great time in the Sir Quincy Yurt. It was well appointed with an update of an extension cord which was much appreciated with the fan for this super hot weather. The yurt was clean and had everything we needed. Two moms and two daughters stayed comfortably. The animals were all very docile and fun to be around. We were close enough to town to take advantage of a great ice cream stand and some interesting antique shops too.

Hummingbird Hollow was amazing! It was HOT when we stayed but the creek is a short walk from the campsites and is big enough that you’re not on top of other people camping too.
We stayed in St Quincy. Sarah had a nice sized fan setup in that kept air flowing and really helped with the heat. There were two beds and both were comfortable.
We really loved seeing, petting, and taking pictures with all of the animals. The vast majority were extremely friendly and the other few were shy but still “checked us out.”
We will definitely be booking another stay here this summer!

The tent camping at Elizabeth's Hawks Bluff Farm provides access to potable water, composting toilets, clean showers, and a camp kitchen. We stayed two nights weathering the rain and enjoying the rock hunting. If you like to explore nature, hunt rocks, sit around the fire, and chill, then this is a great place.
Mark showed us where some good search areas are and provided an overview of what to look for. Much of the beauty you will find is above ground.

My wife and I had a wonderful two night stay in the Dreamcatcher Tipi at Sundance Ranch. It's perfect for a quick getaway from the city! Rhonda got us settled in and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We took a little trip around the lake in the canoe in the morning and relaxed around the campfire listening to birds and watching wildlife the rest of the time. Very relaxing!

Where to go
North Missouri
Kansas City, Missouri’s largest city, is best known for its jazz scene and BBQ restaurants, but there are also plenty of natural attractions to explore in the north. Head to nearby Weston Bend State Park to camp along the Missouri River, or go biking and horseback riding along the multi-use trails of Crowder State Park. Over on the eastern state border, Wakonda State Park has six lakes to choose from, while the Mark Twain State Park has family campgrounds in the Salt River Hills.
Central Missouri
State capital Jefferson City lies at the heart of Missouri, and just to the north, Rock Bridge Memorial State Park provides tranquil camping amid a backdrop of natural caves, streams, and woodlands. Summer campers flock to the Lake of the Ozarks region, where the huge reservoir is fringed with sandy beaches, golf courses, and restaurants. If you tire of the Ozarks camping resorts, Bennett Spring State Park makes a worthy alternative, renowned for its trout fishing.
St Louis and Southeast Missouri
At the meeting point of the Mississippi and the Missouri Rivers, St Louis is home to one of Missouri’s most visited attractions, the Gateway Arch National Park. Nearby, hikers can enjoy full-amenity camping at Meramec River State Park, while Castlewood State Park is renowned for its mountain biking trails, and Sam A Baker State Park is one of the region’s most visited.
