My husband Rob and I own a 40 acre property approximately 10 miles from Bayfield, Wi. We have a micro organic farm with hundreds of wild apple trees and believe in leaving the land better than we found it. Rob loves permaculture, managing soils, pruning apple trees and feeding his community nutrient dense food. I work as a hospice nurse and help out on the farm when I am able and we have 2 boys, Arlo and Owen. We keep busy! We offer 3 rustic rentals onsite, but each is very private and secluded. Consider all 3 for a larger gathering! We look forward to hosting you for a farm visit.

There are 3 acres of private, rustic trails to explore as well as a small flock of chickens you are welcome to feed/visit if interested.
The property location is an easy 5 min drive to a popular restaurant, the boat launch on Rice Lake, and a Quick Trip; and just 15 mins to central Duluth and myriad hiking and biking trails. Let our beloved property be the basecamp for all your North Shore adventures.
Parking is provided for 1 vehicle. No trailers (sorry). Check-in is an easy self serve process for your convenience. (Please note the parking and outhouse is near the owner's residence.)
Additional notes to consider: During certain times of the year, particularly fall, it is also possible to hear occasional hunting from other large properties around the lake, but be assured there is no hunting on our property or our direct neighbors and you are located securely in the center of our 15.5 acres.
To clarify location: We are located in Rice Lake, MN, a suburb of Duluth (with a Duluth address). :) Also, the bugs can be a challenge in summer so bring protection. We look forward to hosting you!

Experience upscale camping–Glamping in the Forested Hills of Lake Superior. Sailor Springs is a small three-site campground located just two miles outside of the picturesque tourist town of Bayfield, WI. 2023 will be our first year of operation and we’re excited to host campers on the property and provide a unique camping experience.
The campground is spread out over 5 acres of forest that you’ll hike into from Bresette Hill Road. After parking at the trailhead, you’ll gather your bags and hike into your glamping site. The trail winds through the woods, leading you first to a valley where the seasonal Clark Creek runs through in the spring. The first two campsites are on the other side of this valley. The trail can be steep in spots and requires a moderate level of fitness and mobility to reach the secluded campsites. The third site is a bit farther into the forest, the little A-frame cabin, Anchor sits on the edge of the spring-fed Brickyard Creek that flows year-round.
We have many plans for the property and depending on when you stay, the campground will be in various stages of development. The campsites, trailhead / parking area, and trails are scheduled to be completed in early spring. We hope to add amenities such as a camp sauna and screened-in gazebo later in the 2024 summer / fall. Thank you for considering joining us on this journey to build a peaceful place to play and stay in the woods.

The yurt was so cozy and magical and the perfect stay on a winter storm night ✨
Such an incredible spot! I can’t wait to come back and see it in warmer months.

Loved camping at the Cedar Grove! It was a beautiful location with a small view of the lake from the camp site. It was surprisingly private without having to walk too far from the parking spot. I really appreciated the cart that was available to bring supplies to and from the camp site. Also the outhouse was the nicest one I've ever used. Would definitely camp here again!

We had so much fun at the dome! It's incredibly cozy, the wood stove kept us very warm, and the amenities were perfect for a birthday glamping trip. The sink/stove is very easy to use, porto was clean upon arrival, and meandering through the orchards bird watching made for a lovely morning routine. I'd just point out two things to future travelers to be aware of: flies. Holy guacamole. More flies than I've ever seen or dealt with in my life. There were hundreds, no exaggeration. They mostly left us alone and the hosts had fly paper up that captured most of them but they get inside the dome constantly somehow. Just something to be aware of. The buzzing may keep you up at night without other noise. Secondly, the dome windows and roof are some sort of plastic that are not the most see through. I'm sure that's no fault of the owners but don't expect to stargaze at night. Otherwise though it was a wonderful stay and we would certainly come back again.

Spacious campsite with provided water, firewood, and a table. Right on a lake, but you can’t see the water due to the tall reeds. Close to the owner’s home, but not visible and feels very private. You’ll be woken up early by the roosters. Overall had a great stay and would recommend the place as a comfy and affordable camping option in Duluth when state park sites are all booked

What a stellar hip camp!! It felt like a mix of right in the middle of the woods but equipped with exactly what you need to have fun and easy experience. There's a tiny bit of a hike in but nothing too crazy. Because of that though it was super private yet close enough that if we needed anything Ben & Gina weren't too far away. We also loved the chickens and the little loop hike addition!!! Super fun surprise when you're walking through the path to the campsite. I'd say a fantastic spot whether you're new to camping or just a unique space.

We absolutely loved this site. The outdoor shower was a highlight—peaceful, refreshing, and a perfect way to enjoy the natural setting. The campfire being right next to the tent made evenings feel extra special. The tent itself was spacious and thoughtfully set up, with a super comfy bed that made for great sleep. The structure around the tent—including the decking underneath and the metal roof—really added to our sense of safety and comfort, especially when a gnarly storm rolled through. Everything held up beautifully, and we felt secure and dry the whole time.
Abe was awesome to work with! We had one site booked for a night and another for two nights, and he made the transition between them incredibly easy. He also checked in on us after a storm passed through and stayed responsive via the app whenever we had questions. You can tell he really cares about making sure campers have a good experience. Would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking to disconnect and enjoy some true quiet time in nature!
