Guests should consider limiting their use of electronic devices and appliances to ensure adequate electricity for lights, fan and fridge during your stay. While there is no running water, ten gallons of fresh water is supplied with each stay. The clean and modern outhouse is close but not too close to the Tiny House. A short hike beyond the cabin is a rock overlook for spectacular sunset views. Please note the parking area is located 100 yards from the cabin, there is no motor vehicle access to the cabin itself. A wagon is available to facilitate transporting your gear for your stay. A true hideaway, the cabin is tucked back off the main road, yet close to many recreational opportunities. Relax around a campfire or listen to the sounds of nature. Take in the scenic views and gather with family where distractions disappear.

Weekend Trip to Belle Creek Bluff

Such a beautiful location, we felt so secluded! We saw deer, an eagle and a little downy woodpecker gave us a show on a tree just outside the screened in porch which was a favorite spot for our morning coffee and to listen to the rain. So peaceful . The water crossing was indeed a challenge with glacier cold water I decided to take a wrong step on a slippery rock and do a face plant in the cold water! With pretty much only my pride hurt (and a video my hubby happened to be taking of me at the time) it definitely made a memorable trip! We would definitely come back! And I were not to step now! ;)

Weekend Trip to Aefintyr

Most luxurious hike-in site I’ve stayed at for sure! I stayed at Celtis on top of the bluff at the very end. Was happy I did because in late fall, there didn’t look to be much privacy at the other sites. Celtis was awesome and the bed was super comfortable too. The structure with the screen and tarps worked great for letting in some airflow if unzipped or none if zipped up. A table with 4 chairs, firepit, and the perfectly-spaced trees for a hammock made this site really great. Be prepared for a very steep (but short) hike up. Bathrooms with toilets, running water, and showers at the bottom near the cabins were a nice touch too.

We loved "glamping" here! The cabin was adorable and had everything we needed. The location was perfect...secluded, yet so close to several gorgeous hiking spots. The stargazing was incredible. Our pups (one of whom is scared of other dogs and people) were so happy to have the seclusion. It was the perfect spot to spend our days hiking, and our nights being cozy in the cabin!

Really great little spot. We brought our new lab puppy and she loved the freedom and space to run. Made a few easy runs to Red Wing for hiking and shopping. This place is close to everything and yet has the feel of being a million miles from the rat race.

Mike and Joan thought of everything. It was a perfect short stay for us. We appreciated the kindness shown to us and the ride to and from the site. We had our own little spot in nature with everything we needed. Campfires were so easy with the setup provided. Loved the presence of drinking water and wash up water. The compost toilet bathroom was clean and perfect. I’d come back in a heartbeat. Remember to bring warm sleeping bags or blankets if you are headed there in the fall!

The land, cabin, Cathy and family and of course the goats were all amazing. My kids had the best time! Everything was as described and perfect. The cabin worked great for 5 of us and the cabin amenities like games, hammock and fire pit were perfect.

We loved staying on Candace’s land! Our kids and dogs felt right at home. It was upscale tent camping. We had a great outdoor fire for breakfast, dinner, and s’mores and a great indoor fire to keep us warm on the cool fall nights. The beds were comfortable - especially when you’re used to a tent and a camping pad! And the house heated up so nicely. It was really nicely stocked - we normally bring tongs, spatula, etc. but there were some hung on the cabin which was a nice touch. It was really nice not to get service for a few days, enjoy the scenery, and bum around local towns. We’d absolutely stay again. ❤️

Weekend Trip to Gilles Family Dairy & Woodland

We loved our weekend deep in the woods staying in the Wooden Tent. Mike was great to work with and guided us right to the site and gave us a map of the trails to hike on. This is such a cool site and Mike and Joan's willingness to share their land with others. We had a few rain showers while trying to set up and the wooden tent was bone dry inside! The site has firewood, your own saw dust out house, garbage/ recycling, wash water, drinking water, chairs around the fire/ cooking area, they have literally thought of everything. Make sure if you visit you bring plenty of lights its dark dark that deep in the woods. It also seems 4-5 degrees cooler being that deep in the woods. We also didn't have any mosquitoes when we visitied mid September. At night you could hear owls and coyotes off in the distance. We did not see a single other person while camping and the few other sites are far away from each other so the nature sounds can be heard all day and night! We will 100% stay here again in the future. I will never camp at a regular camp site with neighbors again after this experience! Thanks again Mike and Joan for sharing your land and a great/ cool experience.

This site has everything you could possibly need and more! The yurt has a beautiful set up inside, very cozy and comfortable. It was so nice to have a clean outhouse to use whenever needed. The trails nearby are absolutely stunning, especially with the pretty fall colors. Nestled quietly in the bluffs in southeastern MN. An unforgettable trip! Amenities and needs provided as described. Conveniently located close to Whitewater State Park. Chelsi was a sweet and attentive host who was quick to respond to any questions we had. The hike in was impressive, very steep, but absolutely worth it to camp on top of the bluff with the views. Best to pack as much as you can in one trip up. The nature songs were perfect. Also, loved the crocheted mushroom art around the top of the bluff. Loved the backpacking experience to our camp. Every part about this camp is well kept and maintained beautifully. We will be back again!

Such a cool and unique spot!! How often do you have the chance to stay in an old boat rescued from the bottom of The Mississippi. Mike was very nice and showed us around the property. It had everything we needed, firewood, water, chairs. And the outhouse was the cleanest one I’ve ever been in. Definitely would recommend!
