On our 8 acres we have 5 private ponds, 3 unique cottages ; and a vintage safari tent!

Went out on the kayaks to get a different perspective of the ponds. Kayaks are free to use for guests.

There is nothing more magical than a tent at twilight.  The bell tent is set up with pretty string lights on the posts and down the front, as well as a lantern hanging from inside the top, so even after dark the tent was an inviting place to hang out.

Dancing the Land Farm Camp

Dancing the Land Farm is a small, organic farm in Central Minnesota. Owned and operated by Liz and Curtis, and their little daughter Lulu, the farm raises veggies, flowers, medicinal herbs, goats for milk and fiber, sheep, and pigs, as well as lots of chickens, ducks, quail, guineas, and a pair of peacocks. We also have two friendly farm dogs who both believe you all come here just to give them belly rubs. 

The land is dotted with rolling glacial moraine hills surrounded by marshes. Sandhill Cranes, herons, swans, geese, ducks and all other kind of water loving critters are common sights here. Even otters and beaver have been seen! Eagles are everywhere these days, harriers, and hawks of all kinds. A birders dream! 

Spring/early summer is baby goat and lamb season, so come prepared for  antics and adorableness! From midsummer to frost the gardens and flower fields really start to explode with color and fragrance, and bushels of farm fresh produce. Be sure to book a tour! In the fall the aspens around the farm start shimmering golden, while the oaks deepen to rich, flame-hearted earth tones. 

Opening early summer of 2022, the Dancing the Land Farm Store will be stocked with all manner of delicious produce, pastured pork (bacon over the campfire!), goat, lamb, eggs, flowers, and dry goods, along with yarn and fiber arts for campers to shop at their leisure. A luxurious glamp PLUS delicious, organically grown food? Yes, please!

Tibbetts Wilderness Lil Cabin

Tibbett's Wilderness is a second generation family wilderness retreat.  An off grid facility that focuses on green and Clean operations.  Each cabin has its own compost toilet, and common areas include a cedar lined sauna, an Outdoor Bear Bath, The Buck Outdoor Cafe which is an outdoor living kitchen filled with tomatoes, onions, herbs that our campers can use from garden to table, gas grill, and an outdoor firepit for cooking their outdoor gourmet meals. check out our website for more detailed information at tibbettswilderness.wordpress.comLearn more about this land:Big Pine Cabin is a 24X28  cabin which offers a King Size Bed in a Large Master Bedroom.  The Bed is complete with down comforters, pillows, micro fiber sheets and bedding with cotton blanket and cotton over sheet. Homemade quilts cover the bed, providing warmth and beauty.   The cabin offers a small kitchenette, a professional cooking hotplate, glassware, plates and silverware.  There is seating for two around the wood stove, and an upright grand piano for your enjoyment.  Hopeful to bring attention to fiddlers and guitar players.

Pioneer Farm on Fish Lake

Canpers!  We are about out of misquito season.  hooray  This lakefront farm is a very special spiritual location.   Listen to the night life in the woods and loons on the lake.   Fall time- the acorns are falling:)

The farm animals are gone now, but there remains a huge barn and outbuildings. Enjoy observing old time architecture!

Monet tight?  We are open to a refund of $20 a day for an hour for farm chores.  Chores like mending fences, cutting vegetation, collecting the harvest from the earth, etc.  Pay in full thru hipcamp, then we can arrange a task per interest and capabilities!!   We're almost seventy now -getting harder to keep things up, ya know!    need lots of oak limbs peeled off the bark:)

Spirits of the Forest

How we ended up in Knife Lake Township on 81 acres of forested land. 

We began looking for land in late fall of 1996.

 After several months of searching, we happened upon a tiny newspaper ad for 81 acres of land described as "Beautiful, secluded, mature hardwoods, tall pines w/creek & beaver pond, many gd bldg sites & great hunting". We toured the property, covered in almost two feet of snow, on a snowmobile in January 1997 and fell in love with it. 

We have been stewards of this piece of land for 25 years and are still enamored of its beauty and diversity. We are lulled to sleep by the sounds of owls and bullfrogs and the distant yipping of coyotes. Spring through fall we are often awakened by the rattling, honking of sandhill cranes and a wide variety of bird songs. Besides deer and lots of small critters, we've seen bear, bobcat, rafters of turkeys, quail, grouse, pheasant, owls, hawks and eagles. The sky, on a clear night, is breathtaking. 

We have always visualized sharing the land with others, so come and immerse yourself in this bountiful space.
