Paul’s cabin is nice and simple. Beautiful land and lake access. We saw loons, herons and heard lots of other birds each evening and morning. The cabin had the essentials we needed and Paul was very hospitable.

Weekend Trip to Harvest Loon Camp

I visited Harvest Loon Camp on a girls getaway late spring and knew immediately I needed to book it for a family weekend in the summer. We had a wonderful time for both visits! My kids are little (2 & 4) and loved the sandy beach and swim area. The fire pit area is well kept and we loved eating our meals in the screened in porch. It's the area is private and wildlife is abundant. We would've loved to have caught some fish off the dock but they weren't biting during our stay.

Weekend Trip to Wise Woods on Fool Lake

What a great piece of lake property to camp! After a short drive up a wooded path you are greeted by a lovely piece of wooded lake heaven with open vista to the lake. The property has an elevated area where we put our Chalet and two tents. This is where the outhouse is located as well. The property has a partial "road" down to the lake where you can tell some people may have driven. Not steep however. There is a flat area by the lake where a fun two person swinging bench is located and large fire pit. Fools Lake is clean and clear for swimming and kaying, my favs. We were in the lake all the time. I enjoyed the ease of steps into the lake. There is a sandy bottom with some rocks (wear your water shoes) but so easy to lauch your canoe or kayaks. There is a large dock as well. This property is well hiden for privacy. Quiet. Beautiful. We will return.

Loved our time at Paul and Piper's. Their hospitality is fantastic. Plenty of room for our dog to stretch her legs. Cabin is also close to the NCT for hiking which was our focus. Wish we would've had more time - would have loved to take a sunset cruise around the lake with Paul and Piper. We hope to be back!

Weekend Trip to East Lake Ranch

Hosts truly want you to experience and enjoy the features of their property! Both sites offer quick and easy access to the dock and provided kayaks, mowed walking path which has wonderful flower aroma and perfect view of the Eagle nest and a variety of butterflies. The animals were definitely a bonus, my daughter loved feeding the pigs! Meadow site doesn't have shade except down by the dock, but has views and open play space, where as the other site is more private and tree covered, but smaller area. All directions and descriptions given by owners were 💯 clear and accurate.

Weekend Trip to Safe And Sound In Nevis, MN

We had a wonderful stay at Debbie’s place! She was very responsive and made us feel welcome right away. One of the highlights was the relaxing pontoon ride she offered – such a peaceful way to enjoy the lake. The water was calm and the overall vibe was incredibly soothing, giving us the perfect chance to unwind. If you’re looking for a serene lakeside getaway with a warm and attentive host, we highly recommend Debbie’s land.

Weekend Trip to Northern MN Camping & Glamping

Nice spot, will book next time I am in the area. It is close to the Tioga MTB trails and close to town which had great live bands both night. Site is easy to get to and it is good size flat spot. We fit two vehicles with trailers, no problem. Lots of room for tent camping. Nice above ground firepit with generous supply of firewood. Brand new picnic table. Was there to mountain bike so did not use the lake, but it is a short walk down the dirt road. Clean port-a-potty. Blair was really responsive with messages and provided good communication.

My family & I enjoyed harvest loon camp! Although we overpacked, everything was & provided for us, from bedsheets to pillows, blankets, pots, pans, mosquito spray & charcoal! The place was well cleaned & organized. It was such a cute & cozy place! Will definitely be renting again! The host was also fast at replying & accommodating!

3 nights at East Lake Ranch

Despite the rain, we were still able to enjoy the fresh air! We decided to stay an extra night this time around and now think we may have to stay 4 nights to do all we wanna do! The eagles and juveniles were fun to watch, as well as the other bird species in the area. Saw a hawk or falcon of some sort but it flew off before we were able to identify it. All in all, we had an amazing time and my dog got to meet all the animals which was extra cool. We also learned very quickly that the fish loved biting at the worms!

2 nights at Wise Woods on Fool Lake

This is a private spot. Only you and your set up. It’s a beautiful lake and a nice set of stairs to the lake. There’s a wonderful wood swing over looking the lake. There’s aLao a picnic table and a big fire pit. I’d recommend your own toilet set up if possible. It was wonderful! 10/10 I’d come again

There are 2 fire rings for camp fires a propane and charcoal grill. The campground has a dock to access the lake and Crow Wing river. There is approximately 25 steps down the bank to the dock. The steps are newer but steep, If you choose to use them you do so at your own risk.

The Hamlet Lake Homestead

The Hamlet Lake homestead is our 10-acre family home with two unique and private hip-camp sites. The Hamlet Lake Bunkhouse is located to the west of our home in its own secluded parcel next to the lake. The Camp on Hamlet Hill is to the north of our home, on a remote flat hill at the top of our property, on a hill over Cedar brook. with 300-acre, (private) Hamlet Lake in front, and the wide portion of the 20-mile Cedar brook in the back. We are a large "homesteading" family, with chickens, ducks, and a garden. The campsite is a private 1/2 acre clearing, surrounded by woods with a firepit, grill, cooking utensils, and an outhouse. (Tents are available for a small additional cost). There is an outdoor water pump below the hill. Guests can access the waterfront and beach in front, with the use of the swim raft, lily pad, fishing dock, canoe, kayak, and paddle boards included. At nearly 100 feet deep, Hamlet lake also boasts excellent fishing. Our home is located 6 miles from Crosby, with the world-class Cuyuna Lakes 50-mile mountain bike trail system. Crosby is a growing tourist town with many new and unique restaurants, outdoor adventures, and shopping opportunities. The paved bike trail begins 3.5 north of us. Milacs lake is 10 miles to the south.

We have 9 egg laying hens named "The Ladies", and our Brittany Spaniel dog., "Benji." You can hike through the woods. We are situated in 174 acres and adjacent to state forest land. In the little loft are two twin-sized mattresses directly on the floor, fun for kids and accessible by a wooden ladder. Kids should be at least 6 years old to sleep up in the loft and closely supervised. There is also a bathroom with a toilet, sink, and cold water. Relax in the lakeside half of the cabin on the queen-sized hide-a-bed sofa or the recliner next to a wall of windows facing the lake. There's also a stove, small refrigerator, microwave oven, a sink with cold water, and a small table with 4 chairs. Outside, enjoy a peaceful campfire in the fire pit, listen to the enchanting calls of loons, watch eagles and herons fishing, and relax while enjoying the vast variety of songbirds. At night, our dark skies let you see the Milky Way and countless stars and planets! Full disclosure, though, there isn't an indoor shower available, but you can always enjoy a refreshing dip in the lake or use the enclosed outdoor solar camping shower. There isn't a television or wifi, so just take a technology break and get back to nature or bring a good book. If time and weather permits, we would be happy to give you a pontoon ride, or you can borrow our kayaks. Want to explore the area? Just a few miles away is the 49-mile multi-use Heartland Trail, where you can enjoy a quiet walk, run, or bike ride through a paved, wooded, level trail. Within ten miles are plentiful restaurants and stores in Park Rapids, Dorset, and Nevis. There are often music festivals throughout the summer, and several of the restaurants and bars host live music, some of which are played by Debbie, one of your two hosts! You can even take a 30-mile drive to Itasca State Park, home to the headwaters of the Mississippi River, where you can walk right across the headwaters!
