Come enjoy a relaxing vacation in our beautiful lakeside guest cabin! In one half of the cabin, which faces the woods, you'll find beautiful knotty pine vaulted ceilings over a queen bed with a loft above it. In the little loft are two twin-sized mattresses directly on the floor, fun for kids and accessible by a wooden ladder. Kids should be at least 6 years old to sleep up in the loft and closely supervised. There is also a bathroom with a toilet, sink, and cold water. Relax in the lakeside half of the cabin on the queen-sized hide-a-bed sofa or the recliner next to a wall of windows facing the lake. There's also a stove, small refrigerator, microwave oven, a sink with cold water, and a small table with 4 chairs. Outside, enjoy a peaceful campfire in the fire pit, listen to the enchanting calls of loons, watch eagles and herons fishing, and relax while enjoying the vast variety of songbirds. At night, our dark skies let you see the Milky Way and countless stars and planets! Full disclosure, though, there isn't an indoor shower available, but you can always enjoy a refreshing dip in the lake or use the enclosed outdoor solar camping shower. There isn't a television or wifi, so just take a technology break and get back to nature or bring a good book. If time and weather permits, we would be happy to give you a pontoon ride. Want to explore the area? Just a few miles away is the 49-mile multi-use Heartland Trail, where you can enjoy a quiet walk, run, or bike ride through a paved, wooded, level trail. Within ten miles are plentiful restaurants and stores in Park Rapids, Dorset, and Nevis. There are often music festivals throughout the summer, and several of the restaurants and bars host live music, some of which are played by Debbie, one of your two hosts! We really enjoyed staying this cute cabin! The lake view is beautiful and we loved seeing the loons, eagles, black squirrel, and other wildlife! We also enjoyed spending time on the lake and my daughters had a great time kayaking. It was nice getting to talk to both Debbie and Steve as they are great hosts! This is a wonderful quiet place to relax.

This place is what heaven may look like. It was perfect for my son and I. I’m reluctant to share a good thing, when you go leave it the way you found it for the next person to enjoy.

We wanted a couple of days lakeside, and booking Debbie & Steve's guest cabin was just the ticket. The cabin was clean and comfy. We especially enjoyed all the lakeview windows. A few steps and we were on the water with our kayaks to enjoy the loons, gulls, heron, hummingbirds, and more, followed by a campfire dinner. It was Minnesota nature at its best with friendly hosts who stopped by to greet us and ask if we needed anything. We're definitely spreading the word about this little gem. :)

It was a great weekend on the shore of a beautiful lake! The cabin is very cozy, my family really liked it. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay. We had a great time in nature by the fire. Thanks to Debbie and Steve for this relaxing holiday opportunity.

This was my first experience with a Hipcamp rental and I am extremely happy! The cabin was lovely, clean and has every thing I needed not to mention a full view of the loons on the lake. The queen size bed was super comfortable too. My hosts were incredible and even took me on a boat ride. I will return to this cabin very soon! I give it a ten star rating! ⭐️

We loved this charming cabin! The location is amazing, down such a beautiful road and looking out at a peaceful lake. We loved the fresh wood smell of the cabin and really appreciated having a coffee pot available! It was the perfect place to disconnect and unwind for the weekend with friendly and gracious hosts!

The cabin was wonderful . The lake and the doc are majestic at sunset. My tweens loved sleeping in the loft and making smores by the fire pit ! Deb is a great host invited us downtown to an event she hosts that benefits the animal shelter ! A real swell time with swell hosts !

We had a view of the lake from the cabin which was clean and well equipped for our stay. Debbie made herself available to help in any way. She suggested fun activities for us including open mic night in nearby Nevis. It was a great stay. The best part was the beautiful sunsets followed by loons serenading us through the night. I’ve already been telling my friends about this paradise that we’ve found!

Love how this place is right on the water and so reasonably priced! I got to hear loons, which is why I chose this location. The host was great, and extremely accommodating. It is also very comfortable! Happy I didn’t see the neighborhood bear, though.

We had a wonderful stay at Debbie’s place! She was very responsive and made us feel welcome right away. One of the highlights was the relaxing pontoon ride she offered – such a peaceful way to enjoy the lake. The water was calm and the overall vibe was incredibly soothing, giving us the perfect chance to unwind. If you’re looking for a serene lakeside getaway with a warm and attentive host, we highly recommend Debbie’s land.

Peaceful haven! We enjoyed our stay at Safe and Sound and found everything clean and the bed incredibly comfortable. Loved time at the fire watching nature (Eagle catching fish, heron taking off from grass on our beach, deer in the driveway, etc). Debbie and Steve were friendly and very helpful. They were incredible hosts. We have stayed at many Hipcamp places and this would rank at the top. The pictures will not need any explanation.
