Was a wonderful place to camp with great privacy if you’re looking to have a place to yourself. Beautiful piece of Gods creation to enjoy. It was lots of fun seeing the animals. Archer was very friendly. It was the best Hipcamp location we have had. Thank you fir letting us enjoy your place.

We had a great time! Beautiful setting and site. Hosts were very accomodating and it was fun to see the animals. We had not ideal weather but still had an amazing time. Would definitely come back!

The Meadow site is beautiful and large enough for a any size rig. We stayed there with our 37' 5th wheel. Plenty of room. The mowed grassy area truly made it feel like a highland meadow. Great lake view. Excellent fire pit. We recommend Jake & Amy as friendly, welcoming hosts, and the site for peace and solitude.

We had an amazing time at Jake and Amy’s! The location was secluded and provided walks/trails with swimming nearby. The animals were very nice and Amy provided some fresh vegetables. We would love to come back!

The meadow was a STUNNING campsite! It was absolutely perfect. Perfect amount of privacy, and quietness (aside from our 11 month old who's exploring her voice 😄) . Jake & Amy's property is spectacular. We loved being able to go love on the animals! The kayaks were a very nice addition. Thank you so much for sharing this gem with us! Our dogs loved being able to roam free too. We will certainly be back next year ❤️

My partner and I loved tent camping at East Lake Ranch! If you’re looking for an escape to nature that is easily accessible and peaceful, this is the place for you. The land and lake are both teeming with wildlife, so bring your binoculars- and ample bug protection, too!

Oak Campsite
The oak site is secluded, and the site is spacious.
It's nestled in tall trees, and has a great view of the lake. Buddy and Archer were just up the hill from the site, and the eagles nest just a bit further. Just as described, access to the lake was close to the other campsite. We enjoyed using the kayaks provided. We had a relaxing time there, which is just what we were looking for.
Amy is great! She is energetic and inspiring. I genuinely enjoyed meeting her.

Oak Campsite
The Oak campsite was the best! Private and quiet and perfect for some solitude. The bathroom was a bit of a walk from the site but clean and the walk through the meadow was beautiful. My camping set up has me fully self contained so I really only used the toilet once. As with any campsite near water in Minnesota, the bugs are INTENSE, so go prepared. Lots of wildlife! I saw a hawk and eagle hunting in the meadow. Hearing Loon calls while you're falling asleep at night was magical. There was no one at the other site so I had the place to myself but the sites are far enough apart that I felt like it wouldn't have mattered if there were people in it and I'm pretty picky about how close I am to other sites. My pup could be off leash at my site because we were far enough from Amy and Jake's house and their critters (and he's very well behaved and doesn't wander far from me). The hosts were quick to respond to my questions prior to my arrival. I would definitely camp here again!

This Campsite was better than expected! We knew it was going to be good, but it was great! We stayed in the Meadow campsite and it was perfect! The oak site would have been just as good if we were in tents and the mosquitoes weren’t so bad. We were lucky and had the whole place to ourselves which I think made it even better. It is beyond peaceful. The views are great and you are one with nature out there. The eagles nest was also really neat to watch! The outhouse and running water are a little ways away but not terrible, we brought bikes to make it a quick trip. The hosts were great! This was my first time using Hipcamp and my notifications weren’t on. They sent a message the first day saying they wanted to formally welcome us and get us a welcome packet. Super friendly and nice. I missed the message and didn’t see it until our last night there. I didn’t get the chance to personally meet Amy and only saw Jake as we were stopping at the outhouse. They gave us our space and we hardly even knew they were around. It was also great walking around looking at all the different animals. Thanks for sharing your beautiful property with us!

This was our first trip with our new Scamp 16 foot-and it was so fun! Amy and Jake are super nice and their property is absolutely gorgeous! We watched the Eagles and enjoyed the beautiful Lake and…all of it! We got to experience both camp sites -both are beautiful in their own way! Thank you for such an awesome Hipcamp experience for our first outing. We will be back in the fall!

A very peaceful, quiet & secluded spot with a beautiful view of the private lake. Easy to follow directions and very friendly hosts. Highly recommend a stay there with the following caveats: 1. Bring firewood (you can purchase it locally). Although you can scavenge some brush in the surrounding woods, it will not be enough. 2. The bathroom is quite a distance so plan accordingly. 3. With all this rain the mosquitoes are thick, so bring bug spray and keep re-applying it. 4. There is no table (as indicated in the listing) so bring a camp table of some kind. The stars are amazing and there are many birds, including loons and eagles. A wonderful camping experience!

We had a great time but only the second night/day we stayed, I’ll list what we enjoyed and what kept this place from being perfect.
(To be fair we were offered a full refund but I declined because we still had a great time)
Pros
-The kayaks were amazing, we used the channel to go visit Sitas Lake (very secluded)
-Amenities are everything you need (outhouse, water hookup, kayaks, & even some farm animals to pet) you can’t ask for much more than that!
-Great space/setup for a tent site
-Deadfall brush pile for burning
-Firewood bundles for sale!
Cons
-We were unaware that duck hunting happens directly on their lake, 5:30am - 10am.(during duck season) We woke up startled at 5:30am from 4 shotgun blasts… we were more confused and caught of guard than anything.. (we went into town and bought some earplugs which seemed to help the next morning)
-the other campsite is within your view from the Oak site. (We were unlucky enough to get a large group of 8 young adults at the other site, who booked after us.) Unfortunately they weren’t respectful at night and we had to deal with the fallout.
- I didn’t want to leave a negative review since the host was so great and we did end up having a great second day/night, we were just unlucky I think!
Conclusion
If the other campsite is quiet and respectful & it’s not hunting season this place is absolutely perfect.

We tent camped and brought our canoe! The land itself was wonderful and my dog had so much fun exploring without any issue of big roads or places she shouldn’t get into. Canoeing the lake was beautiful, we saw many wildlife! The animals were friendly and let us give them some scratches. The property is absolutely charming and we had the perfect autumn weather; the trees were beautiful! I loved having the fire pit full for our first night, that was an unexpected surprise. Amy was lovely and very welcoming. The biggest thing to appreciate at this site is the solitude and privacy. The outhouse was not far, very clean. The water pump from the well tasted amazing! Amy: I hope those new chicks you picked up are settling nicely! Thank you for a wonderful experience. We are talking about making it an annual trip. Lots of love from Sedona, Luke, and Nyx!

What a beautiful property! Thanks for sharing it with us. The meadow site is full sun but we made do in the heat with a screened tent. The water is pretty low this year but we made use of the dock and kayaked around the gorgeous lake. We had a great say, thanks again!

We enjoyed our stay so much we are planning a trip back soon. We loved canoeing, fishing West Lake, we caught large Bass, Northern, Sunfish and Crappie. We took the canal to Wakenabo Lake. We enjoyed visiting the animals and watching the birds.

Oak Campsite
My husband and I stayed in our teardrop camper at the oak campsite. We had a nice secluded, quiet stay. Listening to the loons all night was an added bonus!

I really enjoyed camping on Jake and Amy’s property. Very peaceful ( I was the only one on their 2 sites). Great space for my dog to roam around within the sites and I just loved watched the pair of eagles and the juveniles! Jake met me as I arrived and gave me a run down of where everything was. I even enjoyed some fresh eggs- great stay! It is buggy at this time of year so be sure to bring repellent and netting.

Beautiful spot !!! Clean and welcoming . Very friendly hosts. We stayed at the oak site and it was very peacefull and quiet right on the lake. We also visited their farm animals ❤ .we had use of their kyakes and that alone was amazing in the calm little bay exploring nature from the water .most definatley will be back. I give them high rating . THANK YOU JAKE AND AMY for sharing your land 😊
