Weekend Trip to South Haven Get-A-Way
Tammy greeted my dog and I upon arrival and was very kind. She gave clear instructions and had a very nice area for us to camp. We were woken in the morning by the rooster which my dog was very amused by. The road is near enough the campsite to hear at night but the noise offers nice ambient sound.

This is a lovely little set of sites with a real 'back-woods' feel. I think it would be ideal for a group of friends to share several sites and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Alegan Game Preserve - almost a wilderness. Sites and loo are well-tended, although recent heavy rains displaced some of the mulch base. Right on the fringe of cell service - reduced distraction!

Beautiful spot in the middle of nowhere! If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing weekend or night away this is great. Plenty of free space to move around and take the dogs for a walk. Big fan of listening to nature and it did not disappoint. I think my favorite part was hearing two great horned owls talk to each other for a while. Honestly one of the most relaxing weekends I’ve had in a while. Erin was great and friendly! She checked in before and during the trip making sure everything was going great

The land was just beautiful! I wish we had gotten there earlier and could stay longer to enjoy but it was a very peaceful beautiful place to stay while passing through.. I enjoyed a nice early walk with the pup and saw so many deer .. it was really just beautiful I hope to visit again and visit longer and enjoy 😊

Great weekend at Mike’s place. We appreciated the privacy and beauty of the lot as well as the fire pit and dry firewood. We had a fire every evening. Shopping is close by as is Saugatuck Dunes State Park for hiking. There is a nice bike trail we unfortunately did not get too. Checkout out Pennyroyal Cafe for good food. We definitely recommend his place.

This site was AMAZING!! So beautiful and secluded and private. Deep in the middle of some awesome public land. We felt like we were in the wilderness. Saw all sorts of wildlife and did not hear a single sign of humans. The site was right off a dirt road that was easy to get to in any type of vehicle but in the entire time we were there only one vehicle came down the dirt road. There were incredible hiking trails a hundred yards from the site that went for miles and were so wild and scenic. We have stayed at many HipCamp sites before but this one blows all others away. 12/10 would recommend!

The property is 30 acres but we are only sharing the back 5 acres for campsites. The property is situated against the Manistee national forest, so there is plenty of wildlife to see. The campsites are currently setup for boondocking, eventually that will be upgraded as time goes on. We do offer farm fresh eggs upon request. If the season is right their could be fresh garden vegetables available as well. Fire pits are available but please know that burn restrictions will be strictly enforced since the property butts up against the national forest. Pets are welcomed but please cleanup after them and never let them just run free without supervision. The evening sky is always a picturesque site and the star gazing is phenomenal. Things to do off the farm: There are dirt bike and ORV trails for miles that run aside the property. The trails can take you to white river for fishing, kayaking, boating, or swimming. The trails can also be nice for a walk, hike, biking, or horseback riding. Bird watchers, the variety of birds that can be found just on the farm alone is quite large. There is an 18 hole disc golf course just 7 minutes away that can challenge even the most skilled and still be fun for the beginner. Fun on the water: Access to so many different lakes is just minutes away. The property is about 25 mins from Lake Michigan, 15 mins from Twin Lake (all sport inland lake), 8 minutes from Blue Lake, and 15 mins from Fremont Lake. Muskegon river is also a short distance from the property for a planned summer tubing trip. There is a river side shop that offers tubes for renting if you don't have any of your own. Shopping nearby: Whispering Pines, Amish store is 8 mins away from the property. They offer a host of many different groceries and a deli. Bigger box stores are a 20 minute drive into Fremont. Attractions: Fremont is home to Gerber foods (baby food production) and they hold the Gerber festival every year in mid July. If you are looking for some fun at a theme park, Michigan Adventures is just 20 minutes away from the property. They have rollar coasters and a water park for all ages.

Heavily wooded forest with pine, maple, oak and birch. Undeveloped and quiet. The property is home to numerous bird species, deer, wild turkeys and squirrels. Occasional howls from distant coyotes and infrequent raccoons. The campsites are located on a hill dominated by tall pines overlooking the east facing property. Secluded, but only a 700 feet from the main residence. Only 1 1/2 miles P.J Hoffmaster's State Park and a 10 minutes ride to Grand Haven State Park/Lake Michigan. Campsites are rustic but we provide camp toilets, a picnic table and a waste container. Fresh water is available at the barn. We also provide a shelter with picnic tables and a charcoal park grille. A large community fire pit is available with wood provided for a small cost by the hosts. When arriving please drive to the end of the driveway towards the last house. The Flipside Acres sign will be on your right side. Drive down the gravel entrance and park where indicated by the red barn. All sites are a short walk from the parking area (500ft) and carts are provided for your use. If needed, we can also provide transportation using our UTV. Tent sites are not accessible by car.

Things to do off the farm: There are dirt bike and ORV trails for miles that run aside the property. The trails can take you to white river for fishing, kayaking, boating, or swimming. The trails can also be nice for a walk, hike, biking, or horseback riding. Bird watchers, the variety of birds that can be found just on the farm alone is quite large. There is an 18 hole disc golf course just 7 minutes away that can challenge even the most skilled and still be fun for the beginner. Fun on the water: Access to so many different lakes is just minutes away. The property is about 25 mins from Lake Michigan, 15 mins from Twin Lake (all sport inland lake), 8 minutes from Blue Lake, and 15 mins from Fremont Lake. Muskegon river is also a short distance from the property for a planned summer tubing trip. There is a river side shop that offers tubes for renting if you don't have any of your own. Shopping nearby: Whispering Pines, Amish store is 8 mins away from the property. They offer a host of many different groceries and a deli. Bigger box stores are a 20 minute drive into Fremont. Attractions: Fremont is home to Gerber foods (baby food production) and they hold the Gerber festival every year in mid July. If you are looking for some fun at a theme park, Michigan Adventures is just 20 minutes away from the property. They have rollar coasters and a water park for all ages.

Secluded, but only a 700 feet from the main residence. Only 1 1/2 miles P.J Hoffmaster's State Park and a 10 minutes ride to Grand Haven State Park/Lake Michigan. Campsites are rustic but we provide camp toilets, a picnic table and a waste container. Fresh water is available at the barn. We also provide a shelter with picnic tables and a charcoal park grille. The property is at mile market 13 of the Kal-Haven Trail - the midpoint. Literally steps from the property and you are on the trail. But you may not need to leave the property, with 6.3 acres of woods and field, with trail cut through PLUS the added public lands butted up to Tincan's property line, giving almost 20 acres to roam. Each RV site - far enough apart to be separate, close enough if you and friends/family want to camp together, has a fire pit and fireplace. Each RV site offers water, 30|50AMP electrical and septic. The dock may have availability for keeping you boat - please inquire. There are kayaks and some bikes (mostly teen and adult size) that may be used. These are shared amenities for the cabin and campsite guests and offered on a first come, first serve basis. We are 13 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites, Hammock Haven are located. Each site has a fire ring & picnic table. Three camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture (1) and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. It can also take a larger RV. A more secluded site (5) is half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. The others are in the middle of the pasture, 2 for sun lovers and 3 for those who prefer more shade. For those who prefer more seclusion, we have cleared three sites in the woods. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. This is free. A coffee bar is on the back deck. Coffee is brewing around 7am. We also provide hot water, teas, hot chocolate and cider. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack. This is all free, though small donations are welcomed. Our goats, poultry, pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.
