Weekend Trip to The Haven

This was our second time staying in the camper, and needless to say, we had an absolute blast from the water to the kayaks to the kindly provided snacks by the host. We had an absolutely incredible time and would highly recommend to anybody looking to go

We had the best experience at Blooming Bus Farms (Glampsite 1)!! Melissa was very communicative before our arrival to ensure we had all of the info we needed, and during our arrival when we got confused in finding our site. The site was PERFECT and had more than we needed. Linens and pillows are provided on the cozy bed, a first aid kit (which we were thankful for when a minor cut happened), towels which we didn’t use since we skipped the provided shower. The extra tent covering the table/chairs, sink, and toilet/shower was unexpected and useful. Once we got the tiki torches and Fire going, bugs were zero issue!! Though it was crucial to keep the yurt zipped because there ARE many bugs, daddy long legs are thriving there lol. The forest canopy was gorgeous and we loved laying on the hammock looking at the trees and listening to the many birds singing on the property. Cooking brats using the grate that swings over the fire was the highlight (using a cast iron that we brought). We took a walk around the grounds at sunset and saw the alpacas and played some basketball. We definitely plan to return and wished we had booked TWO nights! Highly recommend.

The glamping tent was so perfect. The site came equipped with everything you could possibly need, water bottles, a cooler with ice a compostable toilet and shower. The twinkly fairy lights and wildflowers were a beautiful touch. Came with my partner and 2.5 year old and we had a wonderful time. The alpacas were adorable. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

My family stayed at 2 chicks and a farm and loved it. We were greeted with a welcome basket and a tour. Everything was very clean. We were given a fan in our tent and they had complimentary coffee and snacks. The animals were wonderful and friendly. The worst part was my son getting attached to a cat and having to leave. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed the trailer at the Haven. With the weather being in the 90s that weekend, the trailer was a perfect space to spend the night. The outdoor area outside of the trailer felt remote. From where we sat around the fire, it felt like we were alone. The river is a very short walk away and was very scenic. We love that this location was only a few minutes from the downtown area of Niles.

This place is absolutely gorgeous and the perfect get away for our family. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and the campsite was pristine. My kids loved seeing the alpacas and visiting the farm store where they looked at trinkets, stuffed animals and socks made from alpaca fiber.

This was a wonderful overnight trip with my three year old for his first camp-out. Julie and Madison provided excellent hospitality and communication. The animals were a big hit and we got to hold, feed and play with several of them. The grounds were well kept and the yurt was spacious and clean. Some really nice touches with the welcome basket, firewood on site and comfy camp chairs. And I can’t express how much I appreciate the cleanliness of the outhouse—especially with a toddler!

Weekend Trip to Blooming Bus Farms

Melissa has clearly been very thoughtful in how the sites are laid out and what amenities are available. Even though you are in the wilderness enjoying the great outdoors, your bungalow still had the convenience of having electricity for plugging in our phones or heating up our baby's bottle, it had additional seating and furniture, it had lighting and a heater and fan. Outside of the bungalow we had running water for washing our hands, a private shower/toilet, and a covered table area which was such a great touch when it rained the first evening. The farm animals, flowers, and fun activities were also great. I would recommend Melissa's farm and campground to anyone looking to get away but still have basic convenience and great outdoor amenities.

5 nights at Have A Lake Of Your Own!

The cabin was easy to get to but felt far away from the real world. We enjoyed having a fire in the pit every night and cooking our dinner and s'mores over it. The owner was always prompt and accessible for any questions we had. Would recommend if you're looking for a primitive cabin site.

Made for children, the park offers a lake for fishing, boat rentals, beach, swimming pools, game room, mini-golf, kids activities, and more. Air conditioning when it is cold, heat when it is hot, stay dry on a rainy day, inside bathroom. Is this really camping? It is more like Glamour Camping; Glamping. Only 45 minutes from Chicago, and 10 minutes to the Indiana Dunes State Park. This is a nice travel trailer that has two bunk beds in the rear, a dinette and couch that converts to sleepers, and a front bedroom with a queen size bed. Sheets/blankets are supplied, clean towels for up to four people are provided. There is a fire pit, charcoal grill (you have to supply your own charcoal) and gazebo that you can use. Although you are on the lake, you do not have direct access to the lake. Parking is located on the grassy area across the road from the lot. The campground is between the highway and train, so you will hear both day and night with a lot of golf cart traffic. Guest must follow all campground rules, no refunds will be issued. You will have access to all the amenities of the park including use of the pools, beach, and park. Cost of the miniature golf course is not included. There is a restaurant at the park that serves fast food and deserts.

2Chicks And A Farm

For a total of 13 options. 2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres, owned and run by Julie and Theresa Graham. We are 13 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites, Hammock Haven are located. Each site has a fire ring & picnic table. One site, capable of taking a mid sized RV / Fifth Wheel, is located on the front of the property with easy access from the road. It backs up to some trails and brush/wood area and has a corn field to the right. So, even though on the front on the property, you have a feeling of privacy. It too has a fire pit and picnic table. Three camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture (1) and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. A more secluded site (5) is half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. The others are in the middle of the pasture, 2 for sun lovers and 3 for those who prefer more shade. For those who prefer more seclusion, we have cleared three sites in the woods. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. This is free. A coffee bar is on the back deck. Coffee is brewing around 7am. We also provide hot water, teas, hot chocolate and cider. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack. This is all free, though small donations are welcomed. Our goats, poultry, pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

[Apirl 18th Update] Because we are still in the process of opening up a communal kitchen, a larger common area, an improved outdoor fire pit area, showers, and more there may be construction going on during your stay. What to expect lodging at Mustang Sally's: Mustang Sally's offers glamping sites, primitive camping sites and small camper sites. In the future, the plan is to add RV sites and full service cabin sites. The most common question is "What is Glamping?" Well, glamping is glorified camping. Glamping has real beds and other comforts of home but in the camping setting. Non-Glamping sites are available for tents, pop-ups, trucks & van camping. Motorhomes are not allowed at this time. The goal is by end of summer to have tree height cleared in main driveway to allow clearance for RV/Motorhomes. Currently there are no shower facilities as of May 2024. Outhouses are available. Mustang is currently working on what will be called "Bath Row" with the plan of them being finished by July 1, 2024. Bath row will consist of 10 restroom units. Each unit will have it's own private toliet, shower and changing area. Camp Fires are allowed within the fire rings provided at each camp site. Please keep them under control and make sure they are totally out before leaving the camp site. Check in time is 3pm EST Check out is 11am EST. Quiet time is 10 PM to 7 AM Trash cans are located throughout the park. Please tie trash bags completely closed and put your trash completely in the trash container. If the first can is full, please find another container. Please do not place your trash on the ground. Possums and racoons are attracted to left out or disposed of food and while we think they are cute and wonderful animals, we don’t want you to find a surprise in the night of a visiting racoon at your site because of incorrectly disposed of trash! Feel free to bring your own bike. Riding bicycles on our main entrance road is prohibited for the safety of your children and our incoming guests. You are able to ride them everywhere else on the property, just not the main driveway. Cancelling your reservation on the day of or within 7 days prior to arrival will result in no refund. Cancelling your reservation 8 to 14 days prior to arrival, you will be refunded half of your total stay. Cancellations 15 or more days will receive a full refund minus a $15 processing fee. There will be no refunds after you have checked in, for inclement weather, failure to follow the Rules & Regulations, or disorderly conduct. Manager/Owner reserves the right to have discretion on all refunds.
