I am creating a homestead based on simple but holistic living. The cabin was built built by myself with the help of family and friends. There are a number of trails to walk on the 35 private acreage of rolling hills. This heavily wooded land hosts much wildlife and beautiful scenery. There is a sport court which provides opportunities to play basketball, volleyball, pickleball, or badminton. The property is a work in progress with lots of plans for the future; including a food forest, natural pool, recreation building (being built summer 2022), and more.. The property offers a chance to reconnect with each other, yourself, or the natural world in a simplistic and harmonious way. I hope you come experience it! 35 private acres of forest on rolling hill terrain. Lots of wildlife nestled very close to the flat river; 30-40 minutes away from Grand Rapids. The Fred Meijer trail provides great biking or hiking opportunities. Lazy float tubing or kayaking down the flat river is very popular and only a short walk away. Horse back riding, golf courses, and an amazing local bakery all within a couple miles. And a fun sport court (basketball hoop, volleyball/badminton/pickelball net all right on site!

We have about 35 acres and trails through the area for exploring. You just may come across some "forts" constructed by some of our grandchildren. There is a large fire pit and plenty of firewood for a minimal cost. (Large trash can full. ) If you listen in the evening, you are likely able to hear a couple of owls talking back and forth. Usually you can see some deer and maybe some turkeys. There are many old pines around the property, the last remnants of our Christmas tree farm. There is no electricity in the cabin, but we do have two solar lights and some battery lights. If it's been rainy, the solar won't last as long as usual. If it's chilly, we do have a portable heater available. We have cornhole game available upon request and some table games kept in cabin. If you want to go biking, there is a trail in town, about 5 miles away.

Cabins ARE SMOKE FREE and may not be used as kennels so please keep pets off furnature and don't leave them inside when you are gone. You must bring your own queen sheet set. Steam cleaning the mattress will be an extra charge. Swimming beach is available in Lowell a few miles away. Fishing rivers and lakes are also in the area. The shack isn’t perfectly air tight so you might encounter a few bugs however with Chickens around they are natural bug exterminators. Ceiling height it just at 6 ft meaning those taller than that need to Duck under beams. Please beware. *summer info : Lake can only be viewed from the upstairs of shack due to tall reeds or by way of walking path which is still under construction partially handmade from scrap lumber . It’s about 2/3 complete with newly built dock, sections (see pics). The path is usually partially underwater until mid May so please check if you plan to kayak you will use at your own risk. *:It’s too mucky to swim right off shore but you can Kayak out to the swimming area. Kayak use is allowed as long as waiver is signed. Closed toed/water shoes recommended . Potential for 4 guests which is tight, or more if part of your crew wanted to set up a tent. *Fall/winter info: Use of our guest bathroom is permitted during colder months -just ask!. Keep in mind, The only heat will be a 1500 watt heater.

We are 10 minutes from Alma and 20 minutes from Mt Pleasant. Lumberjack park is about 2 minutes away and Stearns preserve is about 5 mins away where you can walk or ride bike on a nice paved trail. We have a small garden that we plant every summer that we use to stock our farm stand. Our farm stand provides veggies (when ready), chicken and ducks eggs, handmade crafts and items from our River’s Edge Lavender business. We are in a quiet area with lots of wildlife. We have 1 spot near the house with a view of the river that can support electric hook for a smaller RV and can attach a garden hose for water if needed. No public restroom available. We can also provide some fire wood for campfires for a cost that is located on the farm stand . Along the river fires are allowed but must be contained in a fire pit. We have 3 kayaks and a canoe that can be used with prior consent. There is a park up river where you can put in and then can exit at our house which is about an hour on the river. We are new to hosting so please provide us with feedback! We are working on the campsites so suggestions are welcome to what can make it better. A porta potty will be available in the future. Weekend Trip to Vibe CAMP!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My girlfriend and I stayed at Kirk’s RV campsite while we were in town to see Billy Strings, and the whole experience was genuinely magical. The location was perfect. Not far from the concert, but tucked away enough that it felt like our own little piece of paradise. Kirk was an awesome host: accommodating, fun, laid-back, great energy, and genuinely willing to go above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Our RV had power, running water, a stove, and a fridge, so we had all the essentials while still getting the full camping experience. The atmosphere was probably our favorite part. If you’re coming through for a concert, an adventure, or just want somewhere unique to unplug for a while, Kirk’s place is a little slice of paradise. We’d absolutely stay again!

1 night at Gray's Riverside Camp

We stayed in the yurt and it was very roomy. The only thing that could have improved the stay is a fan because it rained (luckily we stayed dry!) and it got sticky in the night with no air moving. The mattress topper is just a 3 inch foam so plan accordingly. It also has a bunk bed that could fit 2 kids if you’re considering a stay with kids. There’s a couple chairs and couches that made it roomy. We didn’t stay to enjoy the river but would definitely be back.

1 night at Vibe CAMP!

I was the 1st to stay at vibe camp. Kirk was very welcoming. Had things setup perfectly. It was very private and peaceful. With the work that I do. I need the rest to recharge, vibe camp was perfect for that. I’ve been doing hipcamp for a month now. Doing a 3 months camp trip to experience the area more. Out of several places I’ve stayed at vibe camp is the 2nd best I’ve been to. Trust me there are places on this app that are not what it has advertised. But vibe camp is exactly what it says it is and is clean and safe. A lot of women using this app from my experience of meeting them along the way. They deserve to know what is safe and clean and what is not. Dalton camp and Vibe Camp are the two best places on this app for western Michigan.

Weekend Trip to Beehive Air Therapy Cabin

I had a really peaceful and productive writing and reading solo retreat weekend here. The smell and sound of the hive is incredible and difficult to describe; the outside space around the cabin is also very nice, and I spent a lot of time there, but I kept finding myself going back in to hang out with the bees. It was a hot weekend, but the window and a small fan kept it really comfortable, and the fan was quiet enough I could still hear the bees. The outdoor kitchen is perfectly set up, and the hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. I'm definitely looking forward to another visit.

Weekend Trip to Riverside Retreat

Booked a night stay for a wedding at a nearby venue. The property is very cute and quaint, but spacious at the same time. There were no others staying while we were here. The river bank is full of beautiful wildflowers, but it’s pretty slow moving and mucky so bring your water shoes! There was a nice sized fire pit with wood, which we wished we could have enjoyed. The tiny house itself is nice, but could have used a good dead bug removal before we got there. The bathhouse is also well maintained and a lot nicer than I was expecting for a rustic spot. Don’t forget your TP! Overall a very peaceful experience and nice location.

1 night at Life Adventures

This little cabin was perfect for me. I slept on the futon sofa inside and was able to use the desk as a mini office to get some work done. The microwave inside helped simplify meals. It was also a beautiful and safe evening and the morning sun was beautiful on the field. Luke came to hang out and the firewood is in blue barrels off by the other cabin. Very safe.

I loved my stay in the Tranquility cabin! I needed a getaway to decompress and this was the perfect space. Super quiet and cozy. It is also close to some great hiking.
