I am creating a homestead based on simple but holistic living. The cabin was built built by myself with the help of family and friends. There are a number of trails to walk on the 35 private acreage of rolling hills. This heavily wooded land hosts much wildlife and beautiful scenery. There is a sport court which provides opportunities to play basketball, volleyball, pickleball, or badminton. The property is a work in progress with lots of plans for the future; including a food forest, natural pool, recreation building (being built summer 2022), and more.. The property offers a chance to reconnect with each other, yourself, or the natural world in a simplistic and harmonious way. I hope you come experience it! 35 private acres of forest on rolling hill terrain. Lots of wildlife nestled very close to the flat river; 30-40 minutes away from Grand Rapids. The Fred Meijer trail provides great biking or hiking opportunities. Lazy float tubing or kayaking down the flat river is very popular and only a short walk away. Horse back riding, golf courses, and an amazing local bakery all within a couple miles. And a fun sport court (basketball hoop, volleyball/badminton/pickelball net all right on site!

We have about 35 acres and trails through the area for exploring. You just may come across some "forts" constructed by some of our grandchildren. There is a large fire pit and plenty of firewood for a minimal cost. (Large trash can full. ) If you listen in the evening, you are likely able to hear a couple of owls talking back and forth. Usually you can see some deer and maybe some turkeys. There are many old pines around the property, the last remnants of our Christmas tree farm. There is no electricity in the cabin, but we do have two solar lights and some battery lights. If it's been rainy, the solar won't last as long as usual. If it's chilly, we do have a portable heater available. We have cornhole game available upon request and some table games kept in cabin. If you want to go biking, there is a trail in town, about 5 miles away.

Only 30 minutes east of Grand Rapids, this property was established as a Youth Camp for 15 years is now a private event venue and campground, so it has nice amenities like FULL restrooms, a picnic shelter, and even a few small cabins that can be rented. Cabins ARE SMOKE FREE and may not be used as kennels so please keep pets off furnature and don't leave them inside when you are gone. You must bring your own queen sheet set. Steam cleaning the mattress will be an extra charge. Swimming beach is available in Lowell a few miles away. Fishing rivers and lakes are also in the area. (live bait in Saranac) Woods site and Open Area have a few different locations you can choose from. If woods or open shows booked already, please contact me. This is an intentionally rustic site so guests can truly unplug from the daily rush of life. You will enter from a private drive and follow the trail markers to the cabin. Other markers will guide you through the hiking trails on the property. I live adjacent to the property and will be available by phone. This is a great space for artists, writers and those looking for peace and space to relax amongst the tall pines and listen to the birds sing. Newaygo is a charming little historic town with the Muskegon River flowing through. Visit the local shops and restaurants or explore the nearby trails and Manistee forest or spend time fishing or kayaking on the Muskegon river. Weekend Trip to Beehive Air Therapy Cabin

I had a really peaceful and productive writing and reading solo retreat weekend here. The smell and sound of the hive is incredible and difficult to describe; the outside space around the cabin is also very nice, and I spent a lot of time there, but I kept finding myself going back in to hang out with the bees. It was a hot weekend, but the window and a small fan kept it really comfortable, and the fan was quiet enough I could still hear the bees. The outdoor kitchen is perfectly set up, and the hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. I'm definitely looking forward to another visit.

This little cabin was perfect for me. I slept on the futon sofa inside and was able to use the desk as a mini office to get some work done. The microwave inside helped simplify meals. It was also a beautiful and safe evening and the morning sun was beautiful on the field. Luke came to hang out and the firewood is in blue barrels off by the other cabin. Very safe.

This site is incredible. The location is very private and the land is a small clearing deep in the woods with lots of little nooks to explore. The hand built log cabin is so cool, especially the photo album showing how it was made, and it's so special to see how this extended family has used it as a reunion campsite. Wonderful vibes. Cathy is very welcoming and a great host. She set us up very well and made sure we had everything we needed. She's very responsive over the messaging app. We went with 2 elementary age kids and had a fabulous time even though it rained. We pitched a tent in addition to the cabin. We loved the smokeless firepit, too. Overall, an amazing weekend!

The Cabin in the Woods is a perfect family retreat! A disconnect from the hustle and bustle with the comforts of home! This was our second visit and we cannot wait to go back! Our kids love being able to play badminton and basketball!

The cabin was cozy and clean. The property was very peaceful and quiet. Loved waking up to the birds singing. It's nice that the property sits back off the road surrounded by woods. Direction made it easy to find the property.

Weekend Trip to Beehive Air Therapy Cabin

Weekend Above the Hive The first thing I did when I arrived was turn off the AC. It was hot , Michigan-summer hot, but I hadn't driven out to this little cabin on stilts, tucked at the back of my friends' farm, to sit in climate-controlled silence. Each bed here has small holes cut into it, so you can hear the hive living just beneath you. I lay down, put my ear to one, and listened. At one point I shifted just right so I could see through the holes and through the screens into the hive itself. Golden late-day sunlight was spilling in through the entrance, catching the wings of the bees as they scurried in and out. Such a small, ordinary miracle, and one of the most beautiful things I saw all weekend. I tried the hive air mask too, breathing in the scent straight from the colony, nothing like honey, more mineral and warm, and it caught me off guard in the best way. I did my first meditation right there, hive breath and hive sound as my only guides, kicking off a weekend of solitude I'd been looking forward to for a long time. The days took their own rhythm. I brought three books and finished two, plus an audiobook I listened to while lying flat over the hives. My Shakti mat came out for a session that, laced with the hum below, was some of the most soothing meditation I've done. I cooked over the fire and in the sweet little outdoor kitchen, played music, journaled more than I have in months.

We absolutely loved everything about this place the cabin was clean and equipped with everything you could need! The property was beautiful! The human host is friendly but also gives you space, and the doggy host "Luke" is the best, he will steal your heart as he asks for pets! Lots of fun little activities for you to pass the time. It was hands down the best anniversary we have ever had and we will DEFINITELY be staying there again and telling all our friends about it too!!!
