We have 20 Acres of rolling hills, mostly forested, nestled on the banks of a flowing creek, we are also a dahlia flower farm; in the summer there are hundreds of dahlias blooming, along with many other flowers. If you have a special occasion, that calls for fresh flowers, be sure to let us know (we also offer tours). Our setting is quiet, private and scenic. We occasionally see the Aurora Borealis right from our house. We are located in beautiful Manistee, Michigan where outdoor adventures abound!! Manistee is a peaceful, quaint Northern Michigan town with shopping, antiquing, fine dining and a River Walk. We are minutes from award winning fishing spots on the Big Manistee, Little Manistee, Bear Creek Trout Streams and the Platte River. There are many opportunities to canoe, kayak and paddle board. We are 10 minutes from the Lake Michigan shore, and many beaches are close by. You have a choice of gorgeous sand beaches with picturesque dunes, and rocky beaches for those looking for fossils, agates, beach glass & beautiful beach stones. We are within an hour of Sleeping Bear Dunes with award winning hiking. Traverse City is 40 minutes away with many activities, especially the Cherry Festival. This area is known for live music venues, and lots of weekend art festivals. Manistee is also home to the Little River Casino.
We have firepits at each campsite, dry firewood is available to purchase, feel free to pay by cash, Venmo or CashApp, cost is $15.00 a wheelbarrow and can be found by the wood burning stove under shelter. Fresh flowers bouquets are available to purchase seasonally at our Floral Stand & Market. We have local NON GMO Pasture raised eggs $5 a dozen, Sourdough Bread $10, organically grown garlic, peaches, scones & fishing lures & our Guest Book! An outhouse is available for use and is supplied with toilet paper & hand sanitizer. There is a garbage can and recycling bin near the outhouse. We installed a water hydrant close to the flower bed near the wood pile so you can get potable water to bring back to your site, or hose off with on the spot. A scenic small creek runs by many of the campsites.

Gearing up for our 5th season as the new owners of The Sportsman's Port.
We have made many updates and will continue to do so. We take pride in a
clean bath house, and want everyone to have a great time at our campground. Sometimes it's crazy booked up and other times it may just be you.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have and we will answer them as soon as we can. We look forward to meeting lots of new faces and hopefully starting family traditions for you and yours. We have spacious sites that are all different shapes and sizes. Depending on the site it may have 20/30/50 amp service depending on the site. There are currently only three that have 50 amp service. Also some sites have a septic hookup. Water fill station is located near the bathhouse. There is a private dump station also available for use just ask.

Our family moved from Metro Detroit area here to Mecosta in 2019 in search of a more fulfilling life. We have found just that with this beautiful property and in our homesteading and campground adventure. We were drawn to a calming and grounding energy in these trees; a feeling echoed by many who visit here. We expect you'll leave here feeling inspired and rejuvenated.Learn more about this land:Come enjoy 30 private acres of rolling forest with lots of Beech and Oak trees. We have two community camping areas, each large enough for up to 20 people. We also have a few more intimate spots for complete seclusion. These spots are suitable for about 4-6 people. All rustic camping. Toilets and handwashing stations on site. Extra vehicles, trailers, etc. can be parked in our gravel lot. Ice and firewood available for sale on site. The land borders 6000 acres of public wilderness including Martiny Chain of Lakes. Lots of hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and river floating nearby. Feel free to ask us anytime before or during your stay for our favorite spots, or if we can offer our services to help accommodate any special off-site trips you'd like to plan.As your host, we strive to provide a "home away from home" feel when you visit. We have a small hobby farm up front by the house, where you're welcome to come visit our goats and chickens. They are the friendliest goats you'll ever meet! We often have farm fresh eggs for sale and may have other various items available to rent. Such as a generator, shade tent, river tubes or a canoe. Need anything to make your stay more enjoyable? Pet friendly 2-bedroom, 1 bath cabin on Croton Pond with great views of the Muskegon River valley. The lake cabin has all the amenities necessary for an incredible stay. There is a private beach and a dock for a boat on a large all sports lake. Lake and beach area is accessible on property via 185 steps. There are other lake access points in the area such as Duchemin public boat launch. There is great fishing in the area, and we are approximately 2 miles from the Dragon Trail - mountain bike trail.

Nice spot with a concrete pad not too far from 31. A bit of road noise, but it quieted down at night. I was there for a quick stay, so, unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to enjoy the trails.

Our long weekend at Barney Lake Vista was everything we hoped for and more. The fall colors were absolutely stunning — miles and miles of golden and red trees surrounding the lake. The site itself was private, peaceful, and perfectly maintained. Even the toilet was spotless and just the right distance from camp.
The sounds of nature were constant and comforting — birds chirping all day, a few gobbling turkeys, and at night, the distant howls of what we think was a pack of coyotes. My wife joked they were celebrating something. It was beautiful to listen to, far enough away to keep the night peaceful.
The night sky was incredible — so many stars, it felt magical. Our two senior dachshunds loved it too, especially soaking up the sun in the crisp fall air.
Adam and Sarah were wonderful hosts — friendly, helpful, and thoughtful. They even dropped off a bunch of dry wood after a rainy day without us asking. It made our nights by the fire perfect.
Having grocery stores just 10 minutes away was super convenient, too. Overall, this spot is everything you want for a relaxing, scenic getaway — quiet, beautiful, and full of nature’s charm. We can’t wait to come back! 🌲🔥

We had an amazing romantic getaway at Adam and Sara’s Barney Lake Vista. The overlooking view showcased the stunning fall colors across the landscape, creating a breathtaking backdrop for our stay. In the morning, we were delighted to see a flock of turkeys running through the open field below, adding to the charm of the location. The directions were easy to follow and find, ensuring a hassle-free arrival. The outhouse was perfectly clean, and putting the truck in four-wheel drive made easy work getting up the approach. Overall, it was a perfect weekend getaway.

Deer Path was a perfect get away for us. I was a little nervous about having neighbor's so close, but there was no need. The set up of the site and full hook ups felt very private. We loved sitting by the river and watching a Blue Heron fishing in the river as well as watching a herd of a dozen deer cross the river 100 feet from us. Megan stopped by to confirm that everything was perfect for our stay and it was. I highly reccommend this location with no reservations!

My husband and I rented a site here for our anniversary and we had a great time! The owner was very welcoming and super chill!
The showers and restrooms are very clean and smelt good.
We will bring our kids here too since there’s an open area with things for kids to do and places for parents to hang out!
We came up to ride the trails and there are plenty of spots to start that fun!
