We would like to take a moment and introduce ourselves. Our names are Tom and Heather Holmstrom. We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times Resort and Campground was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and show them there is more out there than the traditional path. We also wanted showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.”
In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history.
Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work!

Norm's Log Cabin started out as a back 40 acre camp from the 1970's.
Hunting is not Allowed on Property.
Over the years we have taken time to make some improvements. We have acquire additional adjoining property and run some electricity. We have pieced together 160 contiguous acres over the years, and continue to manage the property as a family gathering location as well as doing some occasional log harvesting. This is the place to get away from it all, but still be in striking distance to several attractions. A full service restaurant in La Branch which is a short 12 minute drive SE, and a local hang out called the Red Arrow which is a 5 minute drive NW. The Cabin sits at the end of a long 1/4 mile driveway in the middle of the 160 acre plot of trees. You need to cross Anderson Creek, and drive past another hunting camp near the front entrance. This front 40 acre camp (Anderson Creek Camp) is another more rustic option then Norm's Log Cabin. The road leading to this driveway off of Highway 69 is near the village of Hardwood. Along Highway 69 is a snowmobile/ORV trail managed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and can be easily reached via the gravel road to/from camp. That specific trail is designated as A, and runs the length of Highway 69 and intersects ORV trail AG which would bring you into Escanaba. There is many and frequent ORV activity on this trail, and there are many stopping points for refreshments along the way.
Hardwood Impoundment Pond is the closest body of water to Norm's Log Cabin, and can be reached by car or ATV. This impoundment pond is really the back waters of a local dam in the area, and can be fished from the bank or off the bridge that goes across the area. Very easily reachable.
Again this is just a place to get away from it all and take in the outdoors.

In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work! We began this resort’s transformation by replacing nearly all of the roofs. We then added the campground (we are most proud of the campground, as it did not exist prior to our ownership). In the winters we worked on the inside of the cabins, which is what we continue working on to this day. We have completely remodeled 3 cabins; Eagle Harbor, Copper Harbor and Isle Royal. Smaller projects are being continually worked on in the other cabins. Slowly but surely, we are turning this property into our vision. The harsh winter of 2018/2019 led to two roof collapses and even more work!! In 2020, we designed and built rustic bungalows in our campground for nightly rental. Please, take a walk down Backwoods Alley and check them out. In the winter of 2020/2021, we built new custom showers in 3 cabins and replaced the old siding on Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor. We think the new cedar shakes complete the rustic feel we are aiming for. In the spring of 2021, we added 4 new campsites and built a new bath house for our campers. We also ordered new windows for Tahquamenon Falls and Mackinaw Island, however due to the pandemic we did not receive them in time for installation (insert angry emoji). It has been so rewarding having customers return to this resort and commenting so favorably on the changes we have made! What will 2022 bring? Stay tuned.We could not have done ANY of the resort changes without the help and support of my parents, Roger and Marcia Hart. They sold their own home to live out here full time to be a part of the resort’s transformations. Without them, this dream would not have been possible. They truly define the saying, “labor of love,” as we often can only pay them with love. Our dream truly became their dream, as well.

Hello, and welcome to Superior Times Resort and Campground! We would like to take a moment and introduce ourselves. Our names are Tom and Heather Holmstrom. We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times and Resort was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula…the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.” In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history.Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work! We began this resort’s transformation by replacing nearly all of the roofs. We then added the campground (we are most proud of the campground, as it did not exist prior to our ownership). In the winters we worked on the inside of the cabins, which is what we continue working on to this day. We have completely remodeled 3 cabins; Eagle Harbor, Copper Harbor and Isle Royal. Smaller projects are being continually worked on in the other cabins. Slowly but surely, we are turning this property into our vision. The harsh winter of 2018/2019 led to two roof collapses and even more work!! In 2020, we designed and built rustic bungalows in our campground for nightly rental. Please, take a walk down Backwoods Alley and check them out. In the winter of 2020/2021, we built new custom showers in 3 cabins and replaced the old siding on Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor. We think the new cedar shakes complete the rustic feel we are aiming for. In the spring of 2021, we added 4 new campsites and built a new bath house for our campers. We also ordered new windows for Tahquamenon Falls and Mackinaw Island, however due to the pandemic we did not receive them in time for installation (insert angry emoji). It has been so rewarding having customers return to this resort and commenting so favorably on the changes we have made! What will 2022 bring? Stay tuned.We could not have done ANY of the resort changes without the help and support of my parents, Roger and Marcia Hart. They sold their own home to live out here full time to be a part of the resort’s transformations. Without them, this dream would not have been possible. They truly define the saying, “labor of love,” as we often can only pay them with love. Our dream truly became their dream, as well.

Weekend Trip to HTR Door County
Highly recommend! Super clean bathrooms, A Frame cabin was clean and comfortable with mini fridge and microwave. We loved that it was dog friendly with a little park for them to play in. Will definitely be back.

The view,the sauna,the coziness of the cabin was wonderful! Our dogs truly loved their off leash freedom(we picked up their poo as requested) We kayaked,had a few fires at the firepit. It was rustic but doable and we adapted and loved it!

Beautiful secluded area. We saw and heard deer and bear driving in and during our stay. Cabin was roomy with a divider wall and two sleeping areas. Full kitchen well supplied. Large bathroom with shower. Nice firepit area. Very quiet and peaceful setting. Highly recommend.

What a great stay! My family and I spent our weekend at one of the two bedroom cottages. The second room was great for our toddler while our dog spent the night with us in the main bedroom. It was great having a shower and toilet in the cottage along with all the other amenities. HTR handles trash and even delivered our firewood making things quite exceptional. The grounds have a pool and playground near by that helped keep our toddler occupied, but with HTR in Egg Harbor, you're right in the thick of Door Peninsula with easy access to so many attractions and recreational sites.

HTR Door County was a nice campground with a well-maintained bath house and pool. We really enjoyed staying in our rustic A-Frame cabin and the location was close to shops and restaurants in Egg Harbor.

My partner and I loved our time at this farm. We were only there for one night, but it was peaceful and private and beautiful. Super friendly folks who were generous with their time in the morning to give us a tour of the operations. 100% would return for a visit in the future, and if we have time this coming autumn we'll do just that :)

The cabin was more spacious than pictures showed! It stayed pleasantly temped and we are grateful it came with a fan! The campground is very well maintained! The bathrooms were great! The pool had plenty of seating and the dogs park was super nice! Perfect location! We definitely will stay again.

1 night at AuTrain RV Sites By Pictured Rocks
I stayed at the AuTrain Hipcamp RV spot, and it was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had. The RV itself was amazing — spacious, super clean, and incredibly comfortable. It had two full bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a big, cozy sofa — perfect for relaxing after a day out.
What really made the stay special was the beautiful natural setting. Nestled in the middle of the forest, it felt peaceful and secluded — a true escape. And just a short walk away, there was a serene lake, which made the mornings and evenings even more magical. Whether it was enjoying coffee with a view or taking in the quiet by the water, the setting added so much to the experience.
The RV had everything we needed, and it felt more like a luxury cabin on wheels. If you’re looking for a unique, nature-filled getaway without giving up comfort — this is the spot. Highly recommend!

I felt welcome & comfortable above and beyond any expectations I could've had tbh. Thanks again for letting me use (and chop my own) firewood & catch a fire on arrival ! ='] Everything was thought of, tbh, couldn't have asked for a better experience & hosts.
For a glamping farmside heated clean canvas tent with flooring on a deck with a comfortable bed, cooking station & sink just outthe tent and opposite corner a flushing toilet clean outhouse all in the garden with you it's a neat setup, really.
Got to meet the animals, see a greenhouse full of petunias in bloom & very healthy vegetable starts in another, while getting ideas on developing a farmstead a little & it was a great place to be, imho.
Kristel & Chuck's efforts & love they put into this place is obvious & felt in all the craft & comforts there. Thanks you two, it was great & look forward to staying next visit to the Superior Coast !

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at the cabin on Craig’s land! It was absolutely beautiful and very peaceful and serene. We enjoyed the sauna and wood burning stove. Though we spent most of the 2 days we were here out and about hiking and enjoying the beaches, I would totally come back and do absolutely nothing but hang out at the cabin all day because it was that nice. Craig was a great host, very helpful and responsive. 10/10 stay would definitely come back!

We had such a peaceful stay at this cabin in the UP! The setting was incredibly quiet and relaxing—perfect for unwinding. We were pleasantly surprised by how strong and reliable the WiFi was, which made it easy to stay connected when needed. Having a hot shower after a day of exploring was such a nice bonus. Highly recommend for anyone looking to disconnect in nature without giving up comfort!

Weekend Trip to Lost Lithuanians Camp
My wife and I were looking for a weekend getaway and Michael’s cabin delivered a quintessential cabin-in-the-woods experience! It was way bigger than we had expected, with plenty of room for a family/large group, or ample space for a couple looking to relax. When we wanted to unplug, the extensive trails that Michael has created made for an enjoyable walk in the woods. My wife and I both commented how peaceful it was not hearing any cars or airplanes overhead - truly magical! When we wanted our creature comforts, there was a TV with multiple streaming services, an oven and microwave for making meals, and WiFi that was powerful enough to stream a live soccer event in Europe (seriously!).
We spent our drive home talking about the next time we’d be back! Can’t recommend this place enough!
