Acorn Palace was the perfect getaway for me. Everything was very nice and new, and Kristen thought of every possible detail. It’s close enough to the park that you could walk to the lake if you would like, but also feels very secluded. Kristen was very friendly, and hospitable. I would definitely like to return!

Weekend Trip to WonderWoods at Rocky Gap

Pine Meadow Campsite was the perfect blend of seclusion, comfort, and natural beauty. While the campsite itself is small, there's plenty of space to spread out and relax. The grounds were spotless, and we were constantly serenaded by birds and delighted by the sight of rabbits hopping through the area. The real highlight, though, was the watershed—a beautifully maintained building featuring a half bath, a full bath with a standing shower, and a small but impressively stocked kitchenette. It had everything we could possibly need (and more!), and stepping inside felt like coming home after a long day of hiking and exploring. What made this stay even more special was the location. Nestled on private property right in the middle of Rocky Gap State Park, we had easy access to everything the park offers—without the crowds or the hassle of public campground facilities. And if I could give this stay six stars, I would—thanks entirely to our incredible host. She was kind, responsive, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Her hospitality made our trip unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to CLOUD NINE VICTORIAN FARM

From the moment we pulled in we were greeted with warm open arms by Tam and her lovely, well trained dog named Willow. The property is vibrant and you can tell a lot of love and intention is put into it. There is a massive pine tree with chairs and lights that is the perfect place to unwind both during the day and at night. Tam went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and even started the fire where we cooked our dinner using her homegrown herbs and garlic. We left our experience knowing that we will certainly be back again! Looking forward to having more conversations and connection with you, Tam! Thank you a million 💛

1 night at Sistermoon Farm

Great, cozy tent. Very private and aesthetically pleasing. Directions were clear. The site had everything one would need, campsite, chairs, implements for cooking and cleaning, bathrooms, enough bedding to keep you warm on a cool night, etc. I slept like a baby, but my husband who is a light sleeper was pleasantly surprised by the earplugs left for us that helped with a distant train and howling dogs. =) this place was great, I would definitely recommend...but, be advised, if you're not cool with spiders you may want to consider a different place. There's a ton. Harmless spiders, but spiders nonetheless...nbd, but thought I'd mention it.

1 night at Wildflower Farm

We lived camping in their tent! Very clean, running water, outhouse, and outdoor shower. Owner is very responsive and helpful. The bed was so comfortable and loved the lights hung inside the tent. The covered deck off the tent is amazing! Location was easy to find with given instructions. My partner and I love hiking and checking out breweries, so this was an awesome quick getaway spot. With that being said, we didn't bring coffee making supplies, and there was only a tea kettle provided. So bring your own French press or coffee system. There is running water though which is awesome! I would also suggest bringing your own chairs, especially if there are more than 2 in your party. We would definitely stay here again! Just need to adjust what we bring. Thanks for an awesome stay!

Was very happy with our choice to camp at Grouseland Hospitality!! We stayed at the Twisted Oaks site, and the view was great, especially at sunset. It looks like all the campsites have a great view, btw. Mason was fantastic and very helpful. We were delayed in getting there from planned ~3pm until 5pm, but Mason met us at the entrance and was cheerful as ever. The communal shower and bathroom is a nice perk, especially after a long day in the woods! We will stay there again, and I would recommend to my friends/family!!

Weekend Trip to Smith Ridge Harper's Ferry

We stayed at this amazing tiny house during a recent bikepacking trip, and it was exactly what we needed. Clean, dry, and super cozy, with a comfortable bed, hot shower, and an inviting deck where we could relax and listen to the breeze in the trees. It feels remote enough to give you that "camping in the woods" experience, but it's still close to the main road for a quick run into town. The space was thoughtfully set up, with everything we needed to be comfortable after a long day of riding. The bed was large and comfortable, and the hot shower was a total luxury. We loved spending time on the deck in the evening, soaking in the quiet and stars. The room even had a Keurig, and we spent a leisurely morning on the deck with coffee, serenaded by birds. What truly made the stay exceptional was the host, Matt. He went above and beyond to make sure we had water, cooking gear, and anything else we might need. Friendly, helpful, and respectful of our space — exactly the kind of person you hope to meet on the road. Highly recommend for any hiker, bikepacker, or traveler looking for a peaceful, well-equipped retreat in the woods. I’d absolutely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely love to return in the future! Clear instructions and signs made finding our spot easy. Had probably the cleanest porta potty experience of my life. Campsite felt private with minimal bugs and LOTS of beautiful morning bird noises. The lands are definitely sacred and would highly recommend to any fellow lightworker or person in need of some nature healing 💖🌿

This is an idyllic spot to camp and Cara provides everything you could need! The fairy lights were so cute and a great touch. It even poured and stormed while we were here, but we were dry and cozy all night under the roofed platform. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Weekend Trip to Sacred Roots Herbal Sanctuary

This tent spot was perfect. Nestled on a peaceful, eco-conscious herb farm, it felt like stepping into another world; one where time slows down, the air smells like lavender and mint, and the night sky actually glows with stars. The campsite itself was simple but perfect: flat, well-maintained ground for our tent, with plenty of shade and privacy. There were thoughtful touches everywhere — a composting toilet that was clean and easy to use, with a rain-fed sanitation station, and a super comfortable and private outdoor shower. It’s clear the hosts care deeply about the land and about creating a gentle footprint. The atmosphere was mellow and welcoming — think wildflowers, herbal gardens, and wind chimes swaying in the breeze. There is a large covered pavilion where I ate my dinner and updated my journal. If you’re looking for a spot with good energy, real connection to nature, and a little off-grid charm, this is it. I'll definitely be back.

1 night at The Byrd's Nest on the River

Kara's space is SO beautiful and really exceeded our expectations -- so much so that we booked an extra night! The crows nest was perfect for my partner and I and the communal space down by the river is gorgeous. The string lights, multiple platforms, big fire pit, and sound of the river made us feel so easeful. It's also very conveniently located close to Berkeley Springs and Cacapon State Park. Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Carp Cove Farm

This was our third trip on Ralph’s farm, Carp Cove. Our family loves to visit the animals, explore the farm, creek, and learn about the farm. I greatly appreciate Ralph’s hospitality and kindness towards my family and myself.

The host met us at the gate and was very friendly and accommodating. Since the location wasn't full he gave us a choice of whatever site we liked. He stopped over and made sure we had everything very needed and gave us directions to the bike path. We very much enjoyed talking with him and would definitely stay again! Very secluded and quiet.

Weekend Trip to Sacred Roots Herbal Sanctuary

We had a wonderful time Sacred Roots. The Cosmic Cottage was adorable and cozy. We appreciated the fire pit and thank the previous occupants for leaving behind the extra wood. Jay was responsive through the Hipcamp app and Hillary was warm and hospitable when we met her in person. We could really feel the love and care that goes into maintaining Sacred Roots and we’re excited to come back as soon and as often as possible.

The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :) This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out. There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :) *Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable. Cleaning precautions for everyone are taken to extreme lengths. All linens, pillows, etc. are completely removed and cleaned. All surfaces receive commercial disinfectant and upon the request of the guest we can cordinate fogging services. We apologize in advance that some normal things are removed completely like printed house manuals. We ask that you remove all trash and a few other things upon departing to help us stay safe as well.The internet cannot be guaranteed if there is a problem with the provider. In a wooded area bugs are normal. Loud noise or Guest not on the reservation will result in immediate termination and removal. We have a zero tolerance policy. Our relationship and safety of our neighbors and neighborhood is of upmost importance to us.
