Weekend Trip to Mother Earth Organic Farm

Our time at Mother Earth's Organic Farm was perfect in so many ways!!! Mehra and Adrian are the warmest, most welcoming, amazing hosts! Their land is so beautiful and we felt privileged to share it with them for a few days. Private. Minimal cell service. Tidy. We fed their goats and saw the neighbor's cows grazing throughout our stay. We encountered some pretty intense weather (rain and wind) the weekend we visited. Mehra and Adrian responded with such care and empathy when the winds destroyed our canopy. Despite that setback, our time there was so restorative. We got lots of sunshine, we stargazed, and we cooked over the campfire. Truly magical! Many thanks to Mehra and Adrian!

Pamela has an absolutely beautiful farm which has wonderful accommodations. Pamela is a wonderful person to work with and very welcoming. She made us feel like it was our home. We loved her property. It was very accessible to the surrounding areas.

3 nights at Happy Heart Highlands and Alpacas

Spent 3 nights at the Alpaca site. Had a great time. Set up about 6 feet from the fence line and had Alpaca TV my whole stay. Easy to get to Harpers Ferry. No sewer hookup but the KOA is very close and allows anyone to use their dump site for $20. Great communication from host Kim both before and during stay.

3 nights at Fiddlers Green Farm

We had an awesome time. We stayed on the bear creek side and it was better then we thought. Very clean and plenty of wood. The owner treated us to an unexpected "bonfire". Lol.. lol. We were able to relax near the creek and set up the tents just 20 ft from the creeks edge. Hopper(the dog) was cool too, he checked on us a few times. The owner was great, very responsive, very laid back, very cool. We will definitely book again. And most importantly, the bathroom was super clean and toilet paper and wet wipes stocked.

Weekend Trip to Piedmont Farm

Susan’s land is a great place to get outside! There’s plenty of room on site as well as a clean composting toilet. We went into Shenandoah NP which was about 30 minutes from the site. Two very sweet dogs greeted us and said goodbye when we left! They provided a good amount of fire wood and there’s also a trashcan on site.

We came in late and left early, so didn’t get to spend any time exploring, but had a lovely peaceful night. The kitchen pavilion was great, lovely not to need to bring a tarp with rain threatening, and if we come back our children will love the little playground structure.

We enjoyed camping at Old Soul Farm! Catherine was very responsive. We camped at the point and highly recommend it. Very peaceful and feels isolated even with the close proximity to all that Gettysburg has to offer. Would definitely stay again!

Weekend Trip to Willows Farm

I tent camped at this site in late April. The site was flat, provided electric, and had a really nice fire pit. Views were so pretty and I had the chance to greet some cows and horses. I only wish the weather cooperated a little more--if you're tent camping definitely be ready for some winds. But it was a great time and centrally located to lots of great MD sites and wineries. I'd come back if I'm in the area again for sure.

This was are 2nd stay here. We will be back for number 3. Such a peaceful setting. 360 view is spectacular. Enjoy the walk down the lane to say hi to the cows. Having Electric and water is nice to have also.

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING... 30 acres of mostly reclaimed farmland. We are located where Glade Creek flows into the Monocacy River. There is evidence of civil war activity here and the old river ford is on our property. Creek and river access make this a beautiful, peaceful place that is full of life. The energy here is overwhelmingly positive. Our house was built in the 1850s and the neighboring farm was built shortly after—lots of history on this property. You will be able to camp right next to Glade Creek which is always cool, clean, and refreshing. Our goal with opening the land up for camping is to eventually phase out commercial farming on the property and transform it into woodlands using native plants and trees. We've already started by planting hundreds of native tree species along the creek and river banks. Each camper gets us closer to that goal! Thanks for your support! Happy Heart Highlands and Alpacas

Peaceful camping with privacy on a 160-acre historic farm! Minutes from Harpers Ferry, Antietam Battlefield and the C&O Canal to name a few. We are within an hour of Gettysburg and within an hour and a half of DC if you're planning a day trip. We have a prime central location with close access to so many things to do. This beautiful property is nestled in a narrow valley between Elk Ridge and South Mountain with incredible sunrises, sunsets and starlit night skies. Walk out to the fishing pond, or follow the trails around the pastures to meet the cattle grazing in our pastures. We have Scottish Highlands and Black Angus grazing as well as Alpacas. We also have beautiful peacocks on the property. We are a working farm so expect to see tractors and you may even see us baling hay or tending to the cattle. You may smell some animal smells which we work at keeping to a minimum but again, we are a working farm. It’s a true farm experience. Also, please keep in mind that during warm weather you may encounter some bugs. Gnats and flies are always a possibility and of course at times they can be worse than others. That can always be a possibility when camping or being outdoors. Bring bug spray, citronella and anything else to help with insects. If you stay by the pond you may hear frogs which personally I enjoy hearing but some may not. Consider bringing a generator and run a fan if you think the sound might bother you or some way to block sounds. We enjoy talking to our guests so feel free to stop us for a chat. At the RV sites you have 30 and 50 amp power as well as water. All the water spickets are potable and drinkable.

Hawkwood Farm

Hawkwood Farm is a historic property in the Catoctin Mountains. The house dates back to 1803. At that time, it is documented that there was a blacksmith shop on the property. There is a functioning blacksmith shop today, as well as an expansive wood working shop. A ;band of rhyolite runs through the property that was used by Native Americans for spear points dating back to the paleolithic period. Presently, we strive to live as sustainably and as closely to nature as possible, being good stewards of the land that we are blessed to call home. If you are looking for lots of open space with a sensational view of the sky then this is the place for you! This site is great for viewing all kinds of celestial events. You will also have access to the rest of what Hawkwood Farm offers including forest trails and an array of wildlife. Button Farm

The Button Farm Living History Center is a hands-on education facility dedicated to preserving the history of the Underground Railroad. It is operated by the Menare Foundation through a long term lease agreement with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Several of us who work for the non-profit live in the Button Farm house and share the land with our pigs, geese, chickens and lots of wildlife. We're a close drive to Germantown and all the basic amenities of modern life, but when you come down our drive, you enter a world of natural beauty and rural quiet. When booking, keep in mind that all persons--regardless of age or whether or not they intend to spend the night--must be paid for. Our restroom includes hand sanitizer.

We are a small, working farm and apiary. Located back a gravel farm lane, Old Soul Farm is the perfect place to getaway from it all and still be within 10 minutes of the Gettysburg Battlefield. Antique shopping abounds in the nearby charming, little town of New Market. So you're hungry and have a hankering for local cuisine?
