Learn more about this land: The Harford County 4-H Camp and Deer Creek Overlook is located in the heart of 184 wooded acres along Deer Creek and adjacent to the Rocks State Park. Our camp has been enriching lives for nearly a century since 1925. It's the oldest 4-H camp in Maryland and one of the oldest continuous use 4-H camps in the country. Our tent and vehicle camping site provides either a large open field or an area of land near the creek. Small-scale RV and motorhome camping is available in the same area on our gravel-paved parking lot. The site includes access to an open-sided, roofed pavilion, with cement floors. It has picnic tables and benches, a charcoal grill, electric, and water. A volleyball court is located next to the pavilion and just a short walk away is our gaga pit. Hiking trails are available also. The site includes access to our pool house* bathrooms that feature a shower, stall-bathrooms, and two sinks. We are a suburban oasis, surrounded by a little bit of everything. Our homestead has plenty of activity including kids, dogs, and chickens, bees and goats! We have a fully wooded area available to explore across the creek, and weather dependent- the creek is a great place to stay cool. You'll see lots of growing fruit trees in our developing orchard and we are happy to share our vision for this beautiful land! We have a cabin-like bathroom and partial kitchen you will have access to during your stay. We always have cold water available for purchase in the fridge. There is trail access easily accessible from our home (the closest is approximately 1 mile), for paved or natural trail exploration. We are are a great stopping point for cyclists enjoying the area. It's a short drive to downtown Phoenixville with some of the best breweries around. Phoenixville is home to a great farmers market on Saturday mornings and numerous festivals. Also, close-by is the lovely quaint village of Kimberton, home of the best organic grocery store and many opportunities for hiking and small farms.
