1 night at Basecamp Frederick

Great spot on our way back from WV! Close access to 70 and downtown Frederick. The spot was super level and had a nice stream to wade in to cool off. I arrived mid afternoon and the spot had basically full shade all evening and the gravel parking space was well-graded. It’s on a road that was fairly busy on a Sunday with hikers and Mt bikers driving to trailheads down the street, but this meant we were in prime location to walk down to the trails from the site. Traffic died off significantly once it got dark and was super peaceful for sleeping. Will definitely be back soon!

We loved our glamping adventure. The peace and quiet and the quality time was priceless. Actually when we got home did not turn the TV on until nighttime. We highly recommend this site.

Keith was amazing host. We had a group of 20 high school students come out for a weekend camping. The students got to pet and feed the horses. The were able to pick eggs from the chicken and peacock coups. Its was really a great weekend

Weekend Trip to Duck Neck Campground

Not sure where to start. This campground is the most quiet I have been to, even with folks at their sites hanging out. Everything was clean - the general store, the restrooms. My neighbors were so kind as to help me with any questions as I was out with my new RV for the first trip (usually we tent camp). Depending on your equipment the site might be tight but was easily reconfigured to meet the needs. We hiked the campground trails in the morning. While I didn’t personally go in the pool our neighbors raved about it. Close enough to Chestertown and Rock Hall for unique horistical experiences. It is so close to home and we are already talking about how to swing seasonal stays to really experience it all.

Beautiful site - the creek is so clean and cool, our nephew had a fantastic time. Amazing paths through the woods with so many fire flies… the treehouse was very unique and extremely comfortable. Thank you for having us and helping our families make beautiful memories together!

2 nights at Conowingo Creek Campsite

If you are considering choosing Gini's land for your glamping adventure, DO IT! Not only is her property gorgeous and secluded, but the tiny little details she so thoughtfully places throughout the property makes you feel so special. We booked the campsite and treehouse for our first family camping trip with our two young boys (9 and 7) and are so blessed we did. The accommodations were very comfortable so we knew our boys would sleep well through the night, even through a torrential thunderstorm! Our boys loved exploring the property and building their independence wandering her trails. The creek was a cool and exciting escape from the heat that came when the sun was out. Gini was also so understanding of our disabled son (note he doesn't have any mobility issues) and engaged him with feeding her chickens and gathering eggs as soon as we arrived. We have made memories of a lifetime and are already planning when to visit again.

Best hipcamp ever!!! Keith was so helpful and kind. All the animals are adorable. The tent site is right by running water… everything is so convenient from the eggs to the firewood to the little smores packs!!! Lights are hung at each campsite, a running sink at each campsite, a shower, a playground for children, tree swings!!! Let alone all the adorable horses and other animals! Definitely if you have the opportunity, camp here!!!! Best time ever.

Gini and Kelly’s property was an absolute joy to stay in. It was clean, comfortable and stocked with anything we could possibly need. The area was a little forest oasis with mowed trails and a creek for the dogs to play in. We had such a great time and appreciate the attention to detail. Weekend Trip to Maryland Health Society

The cabin was so comfortable and exactly what I needed. I spent probably half of my weekend enjoying the bug-free front porch, listening to music (and playing!), and just having a totally empty brain. The people, though - they really made the stay! I was welcomed into conversations as though I'd been part of the community for years. There was room to explore! The pool was a welcome surprise - I only say that because I'm not much of a pool guy. This was where folks gathered to talk, read, snack... whatever! What a wonderful community!

Weekend Trip to HUNTER'S PARK BY WASHINGTON, DC

Very peaceful stay. The electric hookup was very reliable. Having a dedicated porta potty for my spot was great! The farm is large with a lot of horses and chickens so nice place to walk around and enjoy the scenery yet close enough to the sub urb like Bethesda. Not a lot of trails nearby unless you leave the farm so that's one difference from state park camping. Tent camping area also has a creek running through so great for kids to enjoy.

James was very helpful with showing us the nearby trails. This location is perfect for a little more seclusion versus a standard campground. We enjoyed our stay even with the rain! A simple no-fuss relaxing spot within walking distance of some stellar hiking and views

The campground is situated in the wooded area on the back of 27 acre horse farm which is known as "The Stables at Mezza Luna." There is Wi-Fi to all the sites. Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career. In the daytime, when you are not sitting around your campfire, you can walk the fence lines and visit with the Mares and Foals or just watch them frolic in the fields. Hint! "They love peppermints, carrots and apples." Who knows, you might get to meet a future Kentucky Derby winner. About Tyme Farm is a 26 plus acre privately owned farm used for crops such as corn, soy beans and sunflowers. The property includes a 150+ year old stone farm house, large historic barn on the barn quilt tour in Carroll County, renovated camping cabin for those not into rough camping, fields, streams , woods for hiking, plenty of wild life and lots of quiet. The farm is surrounded by other farms in the agricultural preservation program yet you are only 5 miles from stores, movies, antiques and other aspects of civilization or entertainment if needed. Enjoy watching the deer come out of the woods and meander along the stream and fields at dusk and return in the morning. Electric, water, fire pit and a Port a Pot is available even for rough campers. Pets welcome but must be on a leash or exercise pen or with their owners in some way while here for their safety. There is a large fenced yard for dogs that just have to run if needed. Glamorous camping with a furnished heated/cooled cabin is available for rent by the night for those who do not have camping equipment or do not want to rough it. For those that have been camping before and have all the equipment there is plenty of room for a tent or camper near the buildings or by the stream or woods. For RV owners there is 50amp electric service in the barn. You will need an RV extension cord to access it. I have a 100 ft RV ext. cord but it can be farther than that depending on where you park. Bring one of your own to be sure. It is a farm and not set up like an RV park with numerous outlets.
