There is also a lush island in the middle of the lake if you want to explore some older growth pine and hemlock. You might even see a pine marten! When this area was originally settled, the farm was located on the "highway" from Camden to seasonal pastures in Lincolnville. The trails leading to the park still go by the old foundations that dotted the old Government Road from Camden. Short walk to vegetable and flower farm stand at entrance to Sadie Lane. Single site is near end of 500’ Sadie Lane, a private gravel road. 1/4 mile from I-295 exit. Hipcamp proceeds go to support the community garden and pay for compost, fencing, fertilizer, seeds, water system and related garden needs. Site is suitable for parking a small camper or van. One gravel site, suitable for tenting next to the existing Van or RV parking site. I will only accept one camping site per night. Several acres of trails through old fields and woods adjoin the site. Deer, turkeys and ticks are plentiful. Sadie Lane is a very wide gravel road but there is no dedicated turn a round at end.

Weekend Trip to Bella Largo Vista

I arrived at this site with high expectations, and it certainly delivered. You have your own designated pitch right next to the electrical hookup and picnic table. It comes with wifi, which is awesome. You have this whole hillside to yourself. My dog and I absolutely loved hanging around the fire and looking out over Thompson Lake below. I will definitely be back to this Hipcamp site.

I had a nice stay here. The privy was clean and it's only 30-40 minute drive from Bangor. The sites are on a slight grade of a hill but it isn't that bad and they each have a fire ring and picnic table with a trash can.

I always love staying at this HipCamp - am a repeat camper here. It is actually my favorite Hipcamp. Sarah takes a great deal of care to make it nice, with a container of fresh water, a compost toilet, wood for the fire left in various sizes ranging from kindling to bigger logs. It is private and peaceful, and my dogs and I enjoy it immensely.

We loved camping at Kilene's hipcamp site. You feel like you are in the forest nestled in the trees and yet only a short walk or bike ride to the ocean. The fire pit was perfect with plenty of downed wood provided by Kilene. The directions provided were spot on, easy to follow and our host was always prompt to respond to messages. We give it a 10 out of 10!
