Great synchronicity led us to the wild 30 acres of marsh and woodland that is Turtle Marsh. In addition to making a home here, we dedicating the area as a sanctuary for the quiet enjoyment of nature, eco-spiritual practices and healing. We have trails on the property that are designed for contemplative walks, along with several benches where you can sit in quiet enjoyment, undisturbed by human intrusions. One of our favorite spots for quiet hikes along the shore of the bay, is Sears Island. It is one of the largest undeveloped islands on the east coast, that is connected to the mainland by a causeway. The island is 50 minutes away and even on the busiest summer days, its's usually possible to find a quiet spot on the shore to sit and reflect. As we continue to deepen our relationship with this land, we are trying to follow the principles of Deep Ecology in all of our interactions. Our tentsites, while only a 5 minute walk from the road, have been sited to offer as much solitude as possible, with minimal disruption to the surroundings. For 2025 we are opening a new site. It is a little more secluded, 2-3 minutes further from the road in a very quiet wooded niche, at the edge of the marsh. It is also a little smaller tent (10' diameter) situated on a platform, and a little more "camping" than "glamping". We are pricing the stay there according. In spite of being nestled in the woods, no trees were cut to prepare these relatively accessible sites. We believe that they still offer a very tangible sense of wildness and solitude. Great spot to spend the day sunbathing and swimming. I can offer yoga, personal training, boxing and paddleboard lessons or SUP yoga for some onsite physical fitness fun upon request. Learn more about this land: 16 by 12 ft A-Frame on a platform overlooking our private cove on Graham Lake.  Walk through the forest trail to the Beech Hill Pond Stream and find a private little swim spot under a mini waterfall . Botanica Retreat is a project of the Bioregional Conservancy and Reclamation Trust (BCRT), a registered educational not for profit organization dedicated to the Integration of Light and Land, healing assisted by the kingdoms of nature. Currently, we are recovering the farm house and adjacent structures with the generous assistance of a group of volunteers and we are endeavoring to bring the soil on the land back to life by making the land accessible to a nearby regenerative farmer. The Anchorage is a 4-acre cabins and motel property located approximately 0.5 miles south of Lincolnville, ME. This historic property has been operating for over 100 years. Recently purchased by my wife and me, it is currently undergoing a rebranding and remodel. At present, there are 4 small cottages available to rent, along with plenty of parking space for smaller RVs and vans. Cyclists passing through are welcome to reach out—we’re happy to accommodate tent camping as well. Services such as showers are limited at this time. Legend has it, an ancient Egyptian tribe crossed the Atlantic in search of lobster and good times. Arriving in Maine, they erected a tribute to their ancestral home in the form of a pyramid. Inside the pyramid you will find these mysterious nomads spared no expense recreating the authentic aesthetic of Giza . Archeologists were mystified to find that these travellers added solar power, a tv with netflix and the usual apps, a kitchenette and outdoor shower. A comfy double size bed is found in one corner while a bistro table makes a great place to have a feast or get some work done. A short walk to the river reveals a great fishing, kayaking and swim spot. Egyptians soon learned that swimming meant carefully wading into the water and finding the perfect rock to sit on and drink fermented yummies. The always perfect water is always warm yet refreshing. Nearby, the 95 diner is a great casual spot for breakfast or lunch and the Handystop has great pizzas/subs or grab some fantastic meats and veggies and use the large weber grill outside the pyramid for bbq-ing.

The Bingham Motor Inn offers both single rooms and suites for families and groups. Sunflower Ranch is the name of our home and property. Not only is our cozy, modest house sunflower yellow but in August it is surrounded with sunflowers of all sizes. We share our property with a flock of sweet hens and ducks.....and a few bossy roosters. Eggs are available for purchase if needed. There is a little greenhouse with herbs, greens and strawberries. The field is also an apple orchard that mostly feeds the wildlife. The tent site is privately placed in our cove unseen from the house. We wanted to offer a site that we would enjoy as well and feels like it is in a world of its own. We spend all of our free time outside, camping and paddling the local rivers and lakes. Tommy and I can recommend many beautiful remote Maine adventures for you to experience that are located off the grid and away from all other humans. The sweet city of Ellsworth is only 7 miles away for all of your provisions and Otis General Store is 1 mile away.. they have everything to get you through plus beer, wine, ice and homemade pizza. We can give you a pass to visit the Beech Hill Pond Beach also only 1 mile away (I walk there all the time) which has clear water and a sandy bottom. Great spot to spend the day sunbathing and swimming. I can offer yoga, personal training, boxing and paddleboard lessons or SUP yoga for some onsite physical fitness fun upon request. Learn more about this land: 16 by 12 ft A-Frame on a platform overlooking our private cove on Graham Lake.  Walk through the forest trail to the Beech Hill Pond Stream and find a private little swim spot under a mini waterfall . Great fishing, loon watching, eagles and herons. Enjoy paddling and exploring right from your tent site. Bird watching bliss! Very peaceful and quiet. Canoe or 2 kayaks included.

2 nights at Riverview cabin

This was a great cabin! Had everything we needed and kept us nice and warm through the night. Jamin was super helpful in showing us how to get to the cabin when we arrived in the dark. Did some fishing and was perfect for our two nights. We were there in mid November and were so grateful he kept the cabin running for us.

Weekend Trip to 100 Mile Wilderness Cabin

This was our second visit to Paul's cabin and did not disappoint again. Paul made sure there was enough water and wood to last our stay. There is now a flushing toilet outside which was a nice treat. There are many fantastic walking trails close by including the Appalachian Trail. This time round we spent time at North Pond and Juniper Knee Pond and hiked 4ish hour to Little Wilson Falls (there and back and time at the falls).

Weekend Trip to Trees of Life Retreat (ToLR)

My pup and I had a great time at ToLR. We had a hilarious greeting of turkeys and hens and then about 100 yards then to the right and we were there! The happy birds were a highlight each morning, the nuthatches were busy. The trails behind the woodshed were lovely and quiet. The cabin was so clean and so thoughtfully done. We didn’t want to leave and will for sure be back. Such a lovely and peaceful place.

7 nights at Turtle Marsh- secluded wooded site.

Really unique and amazing stay, can't recommend this place enough! Learned about three medicinal mushrooms that grow on the property through the walks with Peter and Willie. Some neat evidence of beaver activity was spotted as well. You can hear barn owls in the evening. If you did get any rain or wind while there it's rather pleasant. Was nice to know if you do need anything the cabin and Peter were a short walk away. I even got Peters book which I can't wait to read!

Weekend Trip to Cabin of the Woods at Tilden Pond

Robert's cabin at Tilden Pond is a wonderfully secluded get away spot with a beautiful woods walk (15mins) to the pond. We were happy about being able to park next to the cabin for easy unloading of gear. We liked making meals over a camp stove we brought and at the fire pit to calls of loons and owls. We brought our own tent but opted to stay in the cabin on the cots provided, which were comfortable with our sleeping pads and bags. Our dog loved having the woods to romp in unleashed. The sunset at the pond was a highlight. On a future trip we hope to take advantage of the double kayak. We saw others kayaking, sailing, and fishing off in the distance. Robert has done a good job repairing the road recently but it is important to have a truck or vehicle with good clearance to drive in. We loved having both Belfast and Camden only minutes away.

We had the most amazing experience here and I already can’t wait to plan our next visit to really just enjoy the site more! But it was absolutely STUNNING, the views were beautiful and so much care was put into every part of the site. I really couldn’t have asked for a better experience on my first solo trip with my pup! We heard lots of different animals during the night especially and it was really just magical!

I can’t wait to come back! My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this. The set up was perfect, Jeff and Cathy have gone above and beyond with making sure their guests feel comfortable and enjoy their stay. We stayed in the Owls Nest, it was super cozy. There was a whole outdoor kitchen set up with all the kitchen supplies you need. They supplied fire wood, kindling and fire starter! They had jugs of water, a very nice clean bathroom set up. There is a lot of cute animals around too, we saw a few deer, and a porcupine with its baby! We were so impressed with Jeff and Cathy’s hospitality and can’t wait to come stay in the Owls Nest next season :)

Sweet little cabin in the woods! Jamin was super accommodating and even built an outside fire for us prior to arrival. More spacious than you might think for a small cabin. We opted not to use the generator but it was nice to have that option. We enjoyed staying here as a launch point for the weekend of the Common Ground fair just up the road in Unity. Felt very cozy and private. Could be great for a small group of people or just a couple like us.

Weekend Trip to Turtle Marsh- secluded wooded site.

Due to impending weather, we had to change our plans and make a last minute booking. The site was perfect for us. The property is beautiful with a network of small trails crisscrossing it. The site is peaceful and private, and even during a significant downpour we were able to stay dry in the canvas bell tent. Peter is everything you could want in a host. He went out of way to be helpful, he's friendly, genuine, and responsive to communication, while still respecting his guests space and privacy. Plus his dog is the best! We would highly recommend staying here.
