the cabin is in winter mode and has limit water, please bring all the water you need. if you forget or need more the can supply water when we are available to do so. Our cabin is an off grid (very limited power, now way to charge or plug in AC devices) post and beam structure that we built 8 years ago. It's has a full kitchen, wood stove, and screened porch. There are jugs provided for doing dishes etc and a large (150 gallon) tank outside for refills. There are a generous supply of lanterns (both battery and inflatable solar) flashlights and string lights for lighting. This is a small two story timber frame cabin off grid and secluded deep in the woods. It has a separate outhouse as well as shower stall to use the solar shower bags in. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

Great synchronicity led us to the wild 30 acres of marsh and woodland that is Turtle Marsh. In addition to making a home here, we dedicating the area as a sanctuary for the quiet enjoyment of nature, eco-spiritual practices and healing. We are now recognized by the World Wildlife Fund as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. We have trails on the property that are designed for contemplative walks, along with several benches where you can sit in quiet enjoyment, undisturbed by human intrusions. There are several trailheads for the Hills to Sea Trail within a mile of our property. The quintessential New England waterfront town of Belfast on Penobscot Bay, is less than 30 minutes away. One of our favorite spots for quiet hikes along the shore of the bay, is Sears Island. It is one of the largest undeveloped islands on the east coast, that is connected to the mainland by a causeway. The island is 50 minutes away and even on the busiest summer days, its's usually possible to find a quiet spot on the shore to sit and reflect. As we continue to deepen our relationship with this land, we are trying to follow the principles of Deep Ecology in all of our interactions. Our tentsites, while only a 5 minute walk from the road, have been sited to offer as much solitude as possible, with minimal disruption to the surroundings. For 2025 we are opening a new site. It is a little more secluded, 2-3 minutes further from the road in a very quiet wooded niche, at the edge of the marsh. It is also a little smaller tent (10' diameter) situated on a platform, and a little more "camping" than "glamping". We are pricing the stay there according. In spite of being nestled in the woods, no trees were cut to prepare these relatively accessible sites. We believe that they still offer a very tangible sense of wildness and solitude. Great synchronicity led us to the wild 30 acres of marsh and woodland that is Turtle Marsh. In addition to making a home here, we dedicating the area as a sanctuary for the quiet enjoyment of nature, eco-spiritual practices and healing. We are now recognized by the World Wildlife Fund as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. We have trails on the property that are designed for contemplative walks, along with several benches where you can sit in quiet enjoyment, undisturbed by human intrusions. There are several trailheads for the Hills to Sea Trail within a mile of our property. The quintessential New England waterfront town of Belfast on Penobscot Bay, is less than 30 minutes away. One of our favorite spots for quiet hikes along the shore of the bay, is Sears Island. It is one of the largest undeveloped islands on the east coast, that is connected to the mainland by a causeway. The island is 50 minutes away and even on the busiest summer days, its's usually possible to find a quiet spot on the shore to sit and reflect. As we continue to deepen our relationship with this land, we are trying to follow the principles of Deep Ecology in all of our interactions. Our tentsites, while only a 5 minute walk from the road, have been sited to offer as much solitude as possible, with minimal disruption to the surroundings. For 2025 we are opening a new site. It is a little more secluded, 2-3 minutes further from the road in a very quiet wooded niche, at the edge of the marsh. It is also a little smaller tent (10' diameter) situated on a platform, and a little more "camping" than "glamping". We are pricing the stay there according. In spite of being nestled in the woods, no trees were cut to prepare these relatively accessible sites. We believe that they still offer a very tangible sense of wildness and solitude. Michelle's cabin was a great spot to stay overnight, she was communicative and clear with directions and always easy to get in touch with. The cabin was quaint, cosy and fit 3 people without a problem, the outhouse and shower were clean and super helpful, too - definitely would stay again!

Weekend Trip to 100 Mile Wilderness Cabin

This was our second visit to Paul's cabin and did not disappoint again. Paul made sure there was enough water and wood to last our stay. There is now a flushing toilet outside which was a nice treat. There are many fantastic walking trails close by including the Appalachian Trail. This time round we spent time at North Pond and Juniper Knee Pond and hiked 4ish hour to Little Wilson Falls (there and back and time at the falls).

This is the best hipcamp site I've seen so far. We have stayed here 4 or 5 times and will definitely return. My son asked to spend his birthday here this year. There is a wood stove, comfortable beds and even a little electricity for lights. It is very private and quiet. It is well kept and tidy. Dogs are welcome.

Weekend Trip to Trees of Life Retreat (ToLR)

My pup and I had a great time at ToLR. We had a hilarious greeting of turkeys and hens and then about 100 yards then to the right and we were there! The happy birds were a highlight each morning, the nuthatches were busy. The trails behind the woodshed were lovely and quiet. The cabin was so clean and so thoughtfully done. We didn’t want to leave and will for sure be back. Such a lovely and peaceful place.

Really unique and amazing stay, can't recommend this place enough! Learned about three medicinal mushrooms that grow on the property through the walks with Peter and Willie. Some neat evidence of beaver activity was spotted as well. You can hear barn owls in the evening. If you did get any rain or wind while there it's rather pleasant. Was nice to know if you do need anything the cabin and Peter were a short walk away. I even got Peters book which I can't wait to read!

The hosts were not intrusive, but were quick to respond to my questions. There's generous amounts of firewood on the property and the bench near the fire pit is at the perfect slant for stargazing. Loved everything about this cabin. Perfect peaceful getaway to celebrate my good friends birthday. Wood stove heats cabin very well. Screened in porch is a nice added touch. Beds are all very comfy and it was nice having lights the worked! I would come back here again and again as it is just far enough away from civilization but also close if you needed to run somewhere for food or coffee! Also loved the amount of privacy the host gives you. I did not see the host at all during our stay but knew if we needed anything they were a call away.

Weekend Trip to Cabin of the Woods at Tilden Pond

Robert's cabin at Tilden Pond is a wonderfully secluded get away spot with a beautiful woods walk (15mins) to the pond. We were happy about being able to park next to the cabin for easy unloading of gear. We liked making meals over a camp stove we brought and at the fire pit to calls of loons and owls. We brought our own tent but opted to stay in the cabin on the cots provided, which were comfortable with our sleeping pads and bags. Our dog loved having the woods to romp in unleashed. The sunset at the pond was a highlight. On a future trip we hope to take advantage of the double kayak. We saw others kayaking, sailing, and fishing off in the distance. Robert has done a good job repairing the road recently but it is important to have a truck or vehicle with good clearance to drive in. We loved having both Belfast and Camden only minutes away.

I loved staying on Dan’s property. His camp provided everything my group needed for a relaxing fall weekend getaway: spectacular views, accommodating infrastructure, and absolute solitude. You can tell he’s put a lot of thought and energy into the property (and the Hipcamp experience ), which made the entire stay seamless and inviting. We will be back! Pro Tips: 1) arrive before dark to get your bearings, 2) pack light (it’s a good hike to the lake) and the rocky, rooty trail is not wagon-friendly, 3) Download offline Google maps and give yourself extra time for arrival because it’s way out there and GPS/cell service is spotty at best.
