Get your "groove" on or hang loose here on a precious little island with a big bridge just off route one in the heart of Midcoast. Hundreds of guests report the perfect balance of upbeat fun and chill time and call our place and hospitality "magic", "amazing" and "holy guacamole!" It is a lovely spot just off the beaten path but close enough to access the frey. :)
I welcome my guests personally and have likely had a chat before you booked. I like to know what your hopes and priorities are around your stay before I accept so I can meet both of our needs. When you arrive, I will greet you and share a little history/tour of the place. I accept travelers between 4 and 9 pm but like all of us schedules fluctuate and we can roll some. There's a strong chance on an average Maine clear summer evening, I have the campfire going and the solar lights around the yard are charged for their evening gentle show.
All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go.
There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours!
Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens.
This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. Reach out soon and let's chat about your vacation and visit here. I look forward to hearing from you.

The cabin was built for me to steal away from the house and enjoy the wildlife, quiet, stars and silence. Welcome to Lulu's. Where you can get a little crazy under the moon or you can take in the peace and serenity of the stillness in the woods. Depends on what you are looking for! No neighbors to infringe on your ideal get away. The large cabin has a welcoming front porch to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Streaked Mtn. 100 acres of privacy to hike, watch wildlife and just relax. Cabin has outside facilities. Off the grid-no electric or running water. Cell service is adequate. 1 gallon of fresh well water provided for drinking and 10 gallons for washing/cooking.
Bring your own linens for a queen size bed, twin bunk beds and a full pull out couch. 2 pillows are supplied with a pillow protective cover and pillow case which are washed after each guest. Pots, pans and utensils, are onsite which are washed between campers; trash bags, compost bags, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a 2 burner propane stove(green canisters needed) and an older propane table top grill are provided. Camp fire grill on site if you prefer cooking over open flame. There are some battery operated light switches and solar lights in the camp and outhouse. Casino, race track and breweries for night life. Oxford Hills has much to offer.

Tent camping on Cary’s land was nice! There were a couple of spots to choose from as far as setting up a tent. She has other accommodations available if tenting isn’t your thing. Super clear instructions and easy to get too. The place was colorful and creative. Board games, tv, and some cooking was available for use! Highly recommended staying here host was super kind:)

Lulu’s cabin is in a beautiful location, surrounded by nature. We even had a doe grazing just 50 feet away for almost an hour! Our dog loved it too, and there are endless great hiking options within an hour’s drive. We had a wonderful stay!

The location was easy to locate and access. My dog and I were able to drive up and down the hill without issue. The area was all setup so perfectly. The fire pit area was beautiful and safely tucked up away from the cabin, with the outhouse on the opposite side. Waking up to a sunrise like this one was unforgettable. The night sky was so beautiful and so clear. It's was an exceptional experience to say the least! My dog and I are excited to come back again soon and spend more time out on the trails, that are only steps away from the front porch. ❤️

I almost hate to leave a review because I want to keep this little piece of heaven all to ourselves. Gorgeous views and just rustic enough, but still with key comforts. Cozy beds, cook ware essentials, outdoor "kitchen" station with a killer view, quirky little touches, and a great porch. The chipmunks (red squirrels?) kept our dog very busy "hunting". No worries, she didn't catch anything, they just teased her with their chirping. We watched the full moon come up over the trees and cooked dinner over the fire. Can't wait to come back!

Dan’s campsite is hands down one of the best camping experiences we’ve ever had! From making the reservation to the moment we arrived, everything about our stay was seamless and stress-free. He stayed close in contact, responded immediately to any questions we had and offered thoughtful recommendations for places to explore nearby. His communication was top-notch and made us feel well taken care of!
The site itself was immaculate, spacious, and surrounded by beautiful scenery that makes you instantly relax. Whether you’re pitching a tent or parking a camper, Dan has clearly put so much thought and care into creating a space that balances rustic charm with comfort, making it feel welcoming and accessible.
We loved the firepit area and the fact that Dan offers a wheelbarrow of firewood that he cuts himself for just $10 via Venmo! It was such a great deal, super convenient to have right at our site, and it lasted us the entire two-night stay. There are also beautiful lakes and walking trails nearby, and Dan provided easy-to-follow instructions on how to access them. Bonus: his neighbors were just as friendly and kind, making sure we were all set and felt welcomed.
What really sets this place apart is Dan himself. He’s responsive, clear with giving directions, and goes above and beyond to make sure guests have everything they need. We can tell he truly loves hosting and sharing his land—it shows in every detail! Truly a hidden gem! We can’t wait to return! Thank you, Dan! 😊

The cabin is adorable and simple with rustic charm, but the porch is my absolute favorite part. The view is spectacular and it’s the perfect place to sit and stare or read a book. There’s a little outdoor kitchen area where my kids delighted in doing dishes, even though they would never do them at home. The pup also enjoyed sniffing around camp off leash. Bring dry firewood for campfire cooking and be sure your car can handle a bumpy ride, the driveway is very rocky. My Outback did ok, but my husband’s sedan would never make it. Also be prepared for a primitive toilet bucket situation.

I stayed at Sophia's Camp which was private, with water and electricity, and right next to trails around Lake Auburn and the surrounding fields. Water and electricity was readily available, my dogs and I enjoyed exploring the trails, Auburn Lake is beautiful, and the host, Dan, was helpful and accessible. I would definitely recommend staying at this campground and getting to know this wonderful area of Maine.
